I'd like to see monster lairs spawning sparodically a certain distance from ZOC. I luke haveing a non-aligned player (monsters) giving me hell throughout the game :) NB/ I also play on dense monsters all the time :D

The tools of war still need to be fleshed out a bit IMO. Below are some ideas: daggers or bows that inflict poison with DoT. different elements on the different weapons (currently the best blade has ice damage, what about a sword with fire?) High level versions of the leather armours. Perhaps give initiative bonus, or adds lightning damage to attacks? High level staff weapons. Maybe give higher dodge, or elemental damage? <l

I stopped reading about halfway thourgh all these posts. Ceresa Dirge spell is the biggest nuke in the game. The only defense to it is to get 100 poison resist. Dirge does initial damage (which is HUGE), and also a damage over time effect (which is HUGE). When you go around and corrupt EVERY shard to death, you can solo the most heavily defended cities by moving back maximum distance, cast dirge. Pretty much everything will be dead. If it's not dead,

Great ideas gumbostu!! Come to think of it, REALLY great ideas!! I don't think I'd go the cost route for low level cities, but your ideas to buff lvl 4 and 5 cities in to the realm of AWESOME would indeed make the decision between many build queues vs my big fat metropolis a time worthy decision!!

Well this is actually someone elses idea, but I can't find the post for the life of me ( I think it was a reply to something...). Anyway, whoever you are, I liked your idea, and now it has it's own thread!! :) Fight organised matches between the sovereigns. Simple. Can fight each other for fun, or for gildar. Fights are not to the death. The magic healers of the fights keep you alive at 1 HP (so you don't have to spend half mana to not die).&nb

An arena where men and women have been battling for ages, for the benefit of the masses. The more blood spilt the happier the audience becomes! Can you beat the current champion of the arena? Do you have what it takes? Oh no, you do not just get to fight the current champion and cliam a prize. You must PROVE yourself to the audience. Only then can you fight for the ultimate prize. Oh, did I tell you that fights are to the death? Opps! Now ge

Random Events could include things like the following: Heavy rains have turned all the grounds acrross the land to a quagmire. All armies have 50% movement for 3 turns. Visiting Scientist in town, you have +20% science for 3 turns. One of your underlings have assassinated a person from the 's family. You have -xxx diplomacy for 30 turns. One of your family has married into the family. You hav +xx

Fallen Enchantress is fine for how to refer to the game as. Flows nicely, I think even if you write Elemental: Fallen Enchantress in a post, my mind shortens it to just Fallen Enchantress amyway. As for the other feedback you want, I'll have to make a post or two regarding it (if i can get enough play time for thstrategies in beta 4 as they are way different from Beta 3).

fair call on all your points I think. I think I was farther up the civ tree than the warfare tree though. with just two techs researched in magic (to get wardens for outposts). I found the well didn't increase growth rate for the empire, only for the city, adn the city had to be the town type (pop centre or whatever you want to call it). I like your tactic of the enchantment and enchanters buff. Sounds like its a very powerful starting tool. Well... tha

Build queues come from having cities, and having cities limits growth through the: City Growth = Empire prestige/number of cities + local growth bonuses, equation. The games I played, my cities barely grew because I built lots because I wanted more build queues. So I had lvl 1 cities, and a couple of lvl 2 cities mainly through caputuring them, when I won the game. For me, to be able to build enough stuff on a timely basis, you need to build many cities, however, that make

I like the way the death thing works at the moment, so I don't actually want to change that, all I want to change is the location that the Sov/Champ gets sent when they die. Currently, its the nearest city (seems like). Which doesn't give them any time to regain their health for the next fight. Which creates an endless landslide against them, because you just head from city to city, which an injured almost dead hero will be in, and very quickly win. If they

I play on Medium (standard) because the victory conditions are such that playingon a large map will take too long to mop up. I would prefer a large map or bigger, but only if the end game was good to play, rather than mindlessly going from city to city because 50 turns ago I got a power edge over them and have been steamrolling since. On standard the mop up is fairly short.

Hmmmm, it seems that the new changes have turned outposts into must haves. But not necessarily to claim resources, but jut blank land, because then you can upgrade them with consulates. Well its that, or be stuck with very few build queues to get any kind of growth....? I think moving the consulates forward in the tech tree would change the growth of cities dramatically. Basically at the moment, it seems the pacing of the whole game has been slowed down considerabl
I usually run with dense monsters too, since I want more stuff, more spoils, and more creatures to battle, id love if the monsters would pose a wall between me and the enemies, but frankly that setting is far from here yet. Sincerely ~ Kongdej
Bring on that setting!!! :)

I found it interesting when I played that you need build queues galore, however there exists now a tension between number of build queues and how fast each city grows. I think I noticed that there was still a 3 turn minimum build time for anything, and I couldn't see any faction growth imrpovement buildings (there was faction food per grain buildings). I was wondering if this tensions was anticpated/desired, or if it was accidentally left in due to teh prestige scali
I'd agree in general but there are definite exceptions. I'm forgetting names but either of the two factions that allow you to buy up loits of champiosn early (either free champions or heaps of cash - Kraxis) there can be a lot of merit in researching the Magic tree up to Heroes firs tup ot nab any nearby level 5 heroes. I generally won't touch military at the beginning, but there are some scenarios where you want a

reply to SZO, because steam is region based. They can charge different prices depending on where you are from. So your machine says AUS gamer, and steam says, "awesome cash rapage time", and put th price up. If we got it at the US price, we wuold currently pay pretty much 30 AUD. The $45 price was a 10% pre order discounted price.

On difficulties up to hard you do NOT have to use inspiration from the start. Nor do you have to use enchanted hammers from the start. I tend to use them more mid game to give abit of a boost once I have some decent shard resources. Getting your sov up a few levels gives a massive boost to city growth, so that precious 2 mana per turn can get used for helping the Sov. Expert, I'd agree that it's almost a requirement to use inspiration. But only

Thanks Orion for the summary post!! very interesting data set we have here :) I totally agree with yuo that having the bell curve with a median sitting on challenging means the devs have got the difficulties about right :) oh, Glazunov, how come you play mages on easy? I find that magic based champs/sov make the harder difficulty levels easier due to being able to exploit spell synergies. (I took out a city with my Sov, garrisoned to the hilt, by us

Man you guys are lucky.... gods and kings for only $30!!! In Oz, we are being ripped off for $50.... which is a whole $10 less than the original game price.... expansions should not be the same price as original game....... before .915 I was playing on challenging and wiping the floor easily, with any team I picked. So I bumped it to hard which is what I played most of the games at in .915. I haven't lost one of those games yet. Didn't abuse any cheese strategies to win either (def no quickloading), was just better at questing/loot finding, and making a pointier stick than the ai. I've started a game as Ythril on expert now, and have just wiped out the first team. Almo

I've been playing on Hard, and just started a game on Expert. All my games have been showing the AI champs by level 8 have path of Assassin AND another path. As well as multiple copies of Strength. [e digicons]8C[/e] Does playing on higher difficulties like Hard and Expert make it so that the AI ignores the player restrictions around choosing traits? ie, player can't choose multiple copies of strength, or multiple paths. Even by lvl 20 I haven't ev
