3/3/2 - Although the starting city gets those trade bonuses from routes to other countries and u always could use more money from higher population those don't stand a chance to rapid early development, which means materials and essense. More Cities at high level early are always better than one big city that only gives you more money. You can easily reach lvl5 on every 3/x/2-city, even on 3/x/1 if it's conclave. As of now, due to essense, conclaves tend to be much bigger than towns a

Oh yes, it is possible. I Was building a Wooden Wall when i met the research for Castle. The build order didn't get upgraded, i added the Castle to the queue. Voila!

I can agree on that 30-inhabitants-thing. Have seen it several times - ai builds a city right next to my army, 30 inhabitants one turn later. And of course the always funny "get out of my territory"-message. But i don't see this as cheating on behalf of the ai. They actually need it to ever get to do something. It's not like they had a real masterplan or something... Yes, that road thing. Quite sure something will happen there, but not today. But roadchanges wil

First off, thinking of D3 as an rpg kinda insults every real rpg. RPG means Role Playing Game - You could just as well call Unreal an rpg... but well... whatver. on leveling: The main difference between an action-rpg(like diablo or mass effect) and a good strategygame is that playing the latter you are required to make choices. In D3, there are NO choices to make on leveling or choosing abilities - you just play for x seconds/minutes/hours to get the next thing. Same fo

Never had any problems with Pariden until this day. AI may be weak with it, but i seem to have the easiest time with Procipine compared to most other sovereigns. Race spell combined with chard harvesting is extremely strong. Paridens special melee stick is great for earlygame units. So what?

I just founded a city, using a pioneer. When going into the build menu, i was able to build a workshop on a river tile. There were green markers on the river as if building a port or mill. Also, the ai constructed an outpost just a few tiles away. On the river. I razed a city one or two turns before. Of course, there is a save file and a picture... <img src="http://gurtex.de/uploads

As stated in the title. Webbed melee enemies attack when you get close to them. Archers don't, at least not the neutral ones... I tested it with Wildling and Bandid Archers - if you web them(used black widow), they stop shooting until the web ends. Maybe because they usually would move first, then shoot - since they can't do the first thing, they stop alltogether. If you get into melee range with them, they don't shoot either.

Yes, with "died" i meant "fell below 0 hp" as in "fell on the ground after getting hit and vanishing from battlefield". Sorry if i wasn't clear enough with what i meant. So basically, its like that (for example): Army A: Sovereign, 2 Militias Army B: Widow Sovereign runs in front, fights against widow. Widow beats him till he falls. After that, you can do two things: either finish the widow with the militias yourself or press the autocalc-but

I fought a battle where my sovereign died, having several soldiers by his side. After his death i clicked the autocalc-button, got back to the strategic map and saw the combat result. My army won without any more losses. Result Screen shows: Sovereign lost all but one hitpoints and got the XP. Sovereign was also able to move around and didnt port into nearest city. If you finish the battle by yourself, the sovereign gets ported to the next city and is immobilized, autobattle d

Basically, a Tamer Hero needs lots of hp. You run a turn, click on the Tame Button, tank the Beast until ready, tame it, done. Beast full health, Hero full health. Running around with half a dozen stalkers, 4 big bears, some widows and of course that big bad widow thing after around 40 turns kinda feels like cheating.

Hi Just played about 70 turns and tried to check on what i did... Setting: Large swamp(without seeing a single swamp), challenging; Left out Krax in favor of a custom Umber sovereign with Beastlord and Brilliance. After about 10 turns, owning my own hero, a champion and a bear cub i meet the Oracle, Ceresa. I declared war, then demanded surrender without leaving the diplomacy screen (declaring war should imo close that thing and suspend diplomacy for som
