After playing for a week or so, I came up with some feedback and ideas. I haven't had time to browse the forums all that much, so I apologize if these issues have been brought up before - I just wanted to put down some thoughts, hopefully to improve the game in future versions or mods. First off, I agree that the game seems unfinished (or like a really polished beta) rather than a complete product. Personally, I'm okay with that - I'd rather play it now and let it get fini

I'm in the single-player camp, so I'm not too concerned, but if I wanted the "Full" single-player game in multiplayer, shouldn't I be able to make a mod that does that? Also, I can't even imagine how ungodly long a 16 person game would take if you didn't have simultaneous turns.

Stardock's stance on copy protection has played a huge role in my decision to buy the games -- so much so that the only new (as in not used) games I've bought in the past three years or so have been Stardock games. Maybe it's just me, but I'm more than willing to support a company that actually trusts me and lets me use the software I paid for rather than needing to jump through hoops or dig through mountains of paper to find a key every time I get a new computer. I'd rat

I think this situation is part of the danger of conducting the developmental process so openly -- you get exposed to the irrational expectations of some fans, often coming from outside the software development world (and bolstered by the anonymity of the internet). For what it's worth, Stardock's commitment to quality is one of the main reasons I chose to pre-order Elemental instead of waiting to see the reviews first. Knowing that the final product isn't going to be pushed out

My favorite D&D session involved a hero named "Tony." He was devilishly handsome, and a harem of beautiful women followed him wherever he went. As you might imagine, this caused all kinds of trouble in certain towns, as housewives would follow him like rats to the pied piper! (Well, alright, so maybe I just made that up...but I wanted to be in the game too! [e digicons]

I had a similar problem -- I won a game by conquest victory, returned to the main menu, then when I started up a new game I got the white map with all my city info from the last game at the bottom. Problem fixed itself for me just by restarting elemental, I'll try to duplicate it and grab the .err file.

Similar thing happened to me -- I noticed it immediately after taking over a few of my opponent's cities (2-3ish, with a total of about 6 cities). A few turns later my treasury was at -400,000

Please, it wasn't like the actual air traffic controller wasn't in control at all times, nor is there any evidence he wasn't paying as much attention as he would have if the kid wasn't there. If the guy knows his kid and knows that he'd stay out of trouble, why couldn't he bring him to work? Everything that goes on in a control tower is watched by multiple individuals in case of momentary lapses, and if the supervisor/other controllers didn't have a problem with it, what was the h

I agree also -- and I'm very excited Stardock's also given us the opportunity to beta test the game and provide feedback before the final game's released.

Could a possible solution involve pushing the terraforming spells back to a mid- or late- game skillset? By that point, boats and alternative means of transportation might be a bit more common -- allowing them to carry on without attempting to put in an AI that can understand what you did.

I believe they're planning on eventually adding this feature (moving the map by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen), it just hasn't been put in yet -- I'll poke around and see if I can find where I read that.

[quote who="Jonny5446" reply="9" id="2019038"] This prompts me to mention two aspects I'd like to see with regard to any threatening mechanic, firstly I'd like there to be some back and forth as there woudl be with a real person/power. If I'm taking a shortcut across this guys land and he tells me to get off I should be able to answer back and explain to him that it's only a shortcut and I'll be gone within 10 turns and that I promise not to do anything mean while I'm there.

I was much, much younger at the time, but here's what I enjoyed... Distinct heroes -- I think these are what really drew me in, as it gave faces and a little personality to normally featureless units. Battles with heroes in them made it feel like a little more was at stake, especially with their EQ. I eventually got favorites that I tried to get everytime, and the limit placed on the number of heroes per game forced some planning into who I used at which parts of th
