If you check Freebird's history he has a knack for misunderstandings or blatant no-use posts. There's a thread where he complains about the game losing his interest back in 1.09 because of all the crashes, but he doesn't offer to upload his crash data. There's several threads where he says he's leaving the forums, and he doesn't. He can't admit to himself that he's still hooked and still wanting to see what becomes of Elemental. So I respond to him as if he truly means what he puts, b
Quoting Freebird1956, reply 4Thats all fine and dandy. But, it doesn`t change a thing. Brad, did you even play the game before it was release ? Freebird out. Every day for hours on end.
I think that was part of the point behind this post - He helped build so many bits and pieces that it was hard for him to see whether or not the gam
While it saddens me that the network was so insecure that morons like those could infiltrate and compromise it, I'm glad that it was said morons and not people that were more creative. Like some guys from Russia and/or China. That'd be fun. Not that it matters since I'm Verizon, though the fact that they dropped new every two and that the Droid Atrix is going to be AT&T means that may be changing in another few months.
I'm working on a roadmap for the mod I'm going to be spending the next few weeks on. I've been doing bits and pieces just for myself, but now it's come to a point that I'm so bored out of my mind I'm going to try something that goes way beyond what my sanity can withstand. The Roadmap If anyone wants to take a look and make any suggestions for phase
Sorry, no. I think you are over victimizing Stardock here. The game was bad for one reason IMO: they assumed that the game would be enjoyable automatically so long as certain features were present. Playability of such features was not considered, and, as such, we have a game that is still completely unplayable from a gameplay perspective half a year after release. The only time we ask for too much is when we request the addit
Well it seems you're playing on ridiculous and still steamrolling. So kudos to you no matter what you do.
Full refund is typically if you can't get the game to function properly even with the help of Stardock support. But you may be able to get the 75% refund if you don't like the game in its less buggy state. Honestly, with the modability of the game and the fact that the expansion itself might be a superior game, and the strides that they've made in improving the game itself (Since this is the first game on a new game engine) I'd keep it j
>.> Small world apparently. I was already watching Kay on DA and didn't realize they were part of the Elemental team. ^^ If anyone on here wants to make fun of my bad art (Almost all of it but the photography is years old) feel free to stalk me on there. Looneymitch.deviantart.com. But I'll be sure to DA stalk any artist from the Elemental team. So how about Akil, Dan, or Scott?
Random question: Do any of your artists have accounts with Deviantart or any other place where we can see some of their public work and keep track of them?
OH GOD I'll have to change my password now.
When you make your sovereign, make sure to hit the 'save' option and _then_ the done option, so that it saves the file for future games. It took me a few tries to figure this out. (I assumed you hadn't clicked save since it wasn't mentioned whether you had or not).
I'm still happy with the game as just a generic sandbox TBS at the moment, but I agree on the overpromise thing. It's getting better, but as a previous thread stated, this is the game I thought I was buying: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/2009/08/custom_1251146115686_Battle_Close.jpg <a href="http://www.swotti.com/tmp/swotti/cacheZWXLBWVUDGFSOIB3YXIGB2YGBWFNA
I based my purchase decision on pictures like that. :( Once the game is working well, I hope they go back and give us the looks to go with it. ^^
I skimmed a bit of this thread, and I have a few things to say: Those who argue that it's not their rigs and get offended when people say that it is, need to realize that it is the rigs themselves that cause the issues. Yes, Elemental itself has some issues with design that makes it less flexible as far as running on every single machine configuration, but it's also in part because our computers are so diverse. I built my computer myself and while the performance is ama
Did you email them or use a contact form or what? Also November 26th was Black Friday and a holiday weekend, so they may have had an increase in technical support requests due to Elemental being sold in retail stores. You claim in your last attempt at posting ( https://forums.elementalgame.com/401140 ) that you got ahold of tech support, they helped you, and now your game won't load. You demanded a refund previously and Stardock told
Look at all those beautiful paperweights! You'll never lose anything to an unanticipated breeze again! Sorry couldn't help it. I worked in a Best Buy for a while and had many conversations with the Apple rep that worked the booth there.
When I download items, it's either to verify they will run or because it's something I own or previously own. (I lost a lot of items in a flood in June 2008, but I kept the original physical copies even though they no longer functioned just so I could legally create personal backups using online files). Also, when I do download items, I disable the upload option for the program so I'm not contributing to the 'sharing' and 'distributing' of items. The program itself handles the
1. No matter how many times I refuse the AI tries to be buddy buddy and get me to destroy other players. Even if I'm at war with the AI making the proposition and fully allied with the one they want destroyed. Every turn it's a constant "SRSLY Dude, no. I won't kill these guys." 2. I understand having AI personalities, but instead of hard coding them, where one civilization ALWAYS does the same thing, have an option for random personalities. Example Civ V's City State personalities. T
Obviously the police must be a new group released with 1.1. Thankfully you also have Call of the Titans, so just bide your time a few turns till the spell is available and then crush them. These pathetic mortals should learn their place.
Speaking of cheese, I like pepper jack. Especially on some johnsonville bratwurst burgers (Cooked in beer, if possible). Most delicious thing I've ever had. How about you guys? Anyway, I played an online game a while back and was beating the tar out of the AI (Yes, I played my first online game against an AI, mainly because my machine is still getting OOM's) and before it crashed, I had searched the entire map and found them in one ti
Wait, it didn't require my email address to install when I purchased a physical copy. Just to patch it through Impulse, which as mentioned, you can just get a free email address. But if you bought the copy online to where you do have to log in to download/install it, then you gave your email address to _buy_ the game. ... My opinion? Evan's spiked tentacles of forced intrusion !
I still suffer from OOM's and stopped playing the game for the moment. The game crashes every time it hits 2gb meaning I can barely play anything beyond a small map with a few AI opponents. When I play TBS games like Civilization and Elemental, I want to play on the hardest setting with a world full of AI's. I run Civ V with full AI's and 28 city states and have no issues, so I can't wait to be able to run Elemental with a full cast on the huge maps. I understand that it's a comp
With the way they are working on 1.1, they may be waiting to release the campaign when the major updates are finished. Their original timeline of October was probably partially based on the expectation of a successful launch, which would allow 1.1 to not come out for a few more months, whereas instead 1.1 has to be the priority at the moment.
