Looks like more summons is the most popular request. But I suppose it's hard since they would make to create animations and 3d models for each summon? I suppose a easy way around that would be to use existing units as a summon? I mean there are so many....

Spells are still bland compared to MOM 1) Summon spells - These are obvious I leave you to come up with. On average 2 for each level path of magic eg Fire apprentice gets 2 summon , Fire Mage 2... Plus a few mixed types 2) Meta-magic Essence shield - Strategic - sacrifice one essence of the city - Dispel all existing enemy city enchantments, city is now immune to all enemy city enchantments. All allied units fighting in the city gain 50% resistance to mag
Yeah, I agree keep elemental in the name. Reviewers will know for sure and mention it no matter what, leaving elemental out of title just gives them a point to use against you. "StarDock chose to leave out the name elemental for fear of association with the horrible mess that was E:WOM...." Moreover realistically speaking this game is quite niche, almost everyone buying it will already know its link with WOM . For the few who doesn't , the name doesn't matter at
I wouldn't limit champions to just one school. I would give soverigns some big magical advanatage though. Whether it is ability to cast global spells, or ability to break the rules by casting multiple copies of spells in Tactical combat .
I would also like a 1.5. FE is "not as fun as MoM", but that is not to say that it isn't "fun" generally. Where FE needs work. 1. The Magic System. Not just more spells, but the system itself. It is fundamentally boring. There is no particular reason to develop the casting of your sovereign over a champion and the same selections in game creation will ALWAYS yield the same set of options for you over the
Posts like this are common and have being popping up since WOM. But sadly developers don't seem to acknowledge it's a issue. Agree with 100% everything but in particular
In order to properly distinguish Sovereigns as the significant magical creatures they are, Overland Summoning (except in some specific Champion-Unique-Ability cases), Overland Spells, and City Enchantments should be made Sovereign Only. That way, the s
So I've always been a huge 4X fan and Master of Magic is one of my favorite PC games of all time, so I really care deeply about FE reaching that level.
I really really cannot reconcile this statement with pretty much everything else he said.
See, this is where you guys have me completely wrong. I want complexity and depth, but a special kind of complexity and depth called "emergent complexity". I don't want there to be 100 spell
Interesting, so your Pariden Soverign doesnt melee much? which means no need for flame blade. Yeah summoner is nice early on but I thinking long term... I never go for the recruiting/quest techs.. but I suppose they are critical for recruiting champsions? Are quests worth doing? How often do you build pioneers? What type of military untis are good ?
MOM spells > AOW > FE
Point #2 is weird from someone who professes to want FE to be as good as MOM. FE has far less spells (and variety for those that exist) than MOM. i kinda agree with unit design. i never do it cos the diffs are minor. sure ship design worked for MOO , but MOO is quite different because you had to design ships and ship design makes a LOT of difference due to variety of technology and ship modules. With FE, unit design is just a matter of tweaking this unit a bit or that, hardly the same
I love magic, so can you help build me a build that makes you very powerful in magic and what the general strategy is? eg whcih techs to research, rely on soverign/champion vs troops etc Logically we should use Pariden? Profession : Summoner or Warlock i guessing Warlock is more powerful since summons are weak? Magical Proficiencies : i read some people think since Pardien can later buy tomes that automatically grant apprentice abilities for all th
Agreed. the more info you show on level up, it makes us more aware of what is at stake and more interesting choices...
There is a mod scheduled to come out on day one that adds over 100 summons.
Er... You kidding me right? That would be like averaging over 20 summons per element or over 4 per level? ??? How would that work in the game??? If I have Fire archmage i would have 20 summon spells available + all the rest? ??
Quoting Frogboy, reply 275 I'll be back in a month or two. Just going to focus on other projects. Derek has things well in hand as you can see in 0.911. We still have months to colander we do appreciate all feedback. Gee thanks Didden and others. You managed to chase Frogboy away.
Strawman arguments are a poor color choice for you. Whatever Brad's reasoning behind asking his question, the responses have ranged from on-the-mark to discussions of how terrible FE is, to how it can all be rebuilt and become a success if everything is scrubbed. Oh, and comments about how he isn't important in the company, so his remarks should be ignored.
Sigh that was a joke. Besides

The difference between the way Derek treats and Brad gets treated is obvious. If Brad disagrees with someone,
Perhaps because here he asked for a verdict--poor, fair, good, excellent--on the mid-beta, rather than novels by Tolstoy? In retrospect, he probably should have discussed what a mid-beta is like, what exactly to expect from it, and what exactly he wanted that rating on: the feature list, and the expressed intent (greater distinction in champions, etc). But really, it wasn't too difficult to figu
There you go https://forums.elementalgame.com/422067 It's as of 0.86. I not sure why Frogboy is answering and why people are taking him so seriously, he's not the lead developer anyway right? He's just the AI guy. Derek might announce tomorrow in a Dev Journal that frogboy is a idiot and totally wrong and we are going to remove cities, or techtrees or add super complicated city management systems or whatever drastic change people are asking and it would happen despite what frogboy said. :P Or did I misunderstand how E:FE works?&nbs
Quoting luketan, reply 6 Actually summons were fairly weak compared to Heroes in MOM unless you got them early. But still fun and useful in some cases. Not weak compared to the first few heroes, mostly because within turn 40 you can handle upkeeping around 5 sprites or hellhounds In Elemental I have to wait to turn 40 to upkeep a simple militia... There were 360 votes of which 64% voted Excellent, or good. 32% voted fair, with 3% voting poor and 1% voting terrible. So, yeah, I would say you are in the minority in regards to E:FE.My argument goes like this:<b
In any case the main thing that Luketan was taking issue with was GaelicVigil's representation of WoM as a great game that was better than HoMM and AoW. Can you please point me to the poll where 64% of people thought that WoM was better than HoMM or AoW? Its a while ago and my memory might be faulty but I seem to recall the WoM release poll averaging Fair at best. There is this little website called metacritic which
