without going through all 7 pages, why not make minor factions a setup option, let players choose for themselves, like notable locations and random events...?

I admit it, I'm dredging up the past https://forums.elementalgame.com/391708 , but I did my homework before making a post of my own... I just finished the campaign. End of book I. I've read all this stuff about Fallen Enchantress and how it's a totally different game and changes a lot of things but Brad and StarDock will continue to work and EwoM. I've read that mods are being added and 1

burning the candle at both ends causes memory faults... I read at least three threads with ideas likes these. the first one I can find for sure was about monster spawn adjustability (mostly I remember it because I was one of the people adding the suggestions) https://forums.elementalgame.com/395669 one of the edits in 1.08 was to make less resources per 1000 tiles (or something along those lines) why not
If SD can't help you, your best bet at getting a reduced price is to talk to one of the people who got a "Free" extra copy due to mail errors or one of the very disgruntled people who want to return the game (likely to charge more, but since they only get 75% of the cost back less s&h)... good luck. there's a lot you can "Edit" through modding and changing the xml files, since you can't pick what parts of the patches you want and don't want, your more likely to get better re
While I agree with the simplicity statement, I feel that should be explained/expressed somewhere so we aren't left to wonder if that's trully the intention of it was just a "low priority" issue. As to the Leader having skills and connections, it's absurd to think that the leader of a society would want to drop what s/he was doing every time a battle was fought to pinch a few extra gildar out of the deal, and even more absurd to think that the leader would have connections that would w
is there a way to give negative karma to people? ^ anyway, if this hasn't been posted here already there was a thread requesting tactical dungeons and it was discussed whether or not this was supposed to be part of the supported game, but if it isn't, could it be done through modding instead? here's the linky: https://forums.elementalgame.com/395554
Quoting Wintersong, reply 7 Quoting Raven X, reply 4 I really think we should be able to trade techs. It's a valuable part of diplomacy.+1 +1 as well, but perhaps this should be optional. [IE. We should be able to turn off tech trading before we start a new game.]
yup, +1 here too (and +1 the toggle - players choosing before the start if it should be possible)
hey, good gear should cost more then a city! remember, the Mithril shirt that Frodo wore was worth more then the entire Shire! yes, please make items "survive" past death, and also check out my thread on stealing: https://forums.elementalgame.com/395690
there was talk of giving units a patrol or waypoint script, but short of that there are several options for keeping enemies in place. You can put down "objects" that need to be destroyed so you can move further. If no such object exists you could just make a new unit like "stalagmite" (or stalagtite? I forget which grows up and which grows down) and give it either zero moves or negative moves to keep it still. Make them on the same side as the enemy and that will keep

I hate to say this, because I planned to make my Sovereign a thief, but I hope the "fix" to it will be better... How does the leader of a faction being a thief give you extra gold from EVERY battle and not just the battles the Sov is in? In a fantasy world I guess anything is possible, but it just doesn't make sense. Maybe this should be a faction skill instead? if they're all trained in thievery as a society then it might make more sense. So then, what if your
many rpgs do this, even the old school ones. Spell vs. Abilities/Skills. Above mentioned bash and charge, or even things like rend armor or hamstring. Some use "Stamina" or "skill points" or "energy" instead of mana (as well as cooldowns) In one of the tutorials (video) they used a summoned bear and the bear did a maul attack which stunned the opponent for a turn. It was an ability, not a spell, but it cost mana. I see your point about not having mana be th
They did this in some of the "Tactics" games (like Suikoden and Final Fantasy) - and I think they did it in King's Bounty (I only played the demo, but I remember going into a cave or something getting into battles with spiders). This can be a fun diversion, but if it happens too often it can derail the momentum of the game. Especially in multiplayer (and even more so if they put in time limits)... I do like the idea and hope they do implement it, within reason.
possibly a bigger answer then you want, but I think it applies. There are common strategies in MP games (more so RTS then TBS) even space games where you have to colonize planets The Turtle: Focus a base (planet) or two around a resource hub and then build up a patrol/defense path between the two until strong enough to take on more resources. The theory was that if the opposing player sent a lot of forces to break against their base (home area), they would waste resources o
uhh, dgracia, scroll up to my post above, it links to a post that explains what to do and even has a quote from a Stardock employee talking about the problem...
I remember reading in another thread that researching certain technologies causes a forced population boom in mobs, is that part of what is causing the above problems? I remember other games where it was difficult if not impossible to level up new units once you cleared an area because they were too weak to send out alone and it was frustrating to have to stop advancing a higher level unit/group to babysit the newbie in battle. Having these low level spawns gives them "fresh mea
the Demigod issue has been fully explained many times now, but most recently Brad said three paragraphs worth on the 5th. Here's a partial quote and the link: " Q: Your act is getting old. Fool me once on Demigod, fool me twice, shame on me! [got this too in various forms] A: The Demigod debacle ultimately resulted from a fundamental communication failure between the publisher (Stardock) and the developer (Gas Powered Games). It took us a long time to
I have bestbuy gift certificates, so I went to get the LE version of the game. They were already gone. I asked an associate if I could get put on a list if more came in or if he could order it and have it shipped to the store (I can't have expensive stuff mailed to my apartment) so he did his thing on the computer and it was labeled "backordered". I asked if that meant it couldn't be ordered or if it meant I got put at the end of a list and had to wait my turn. He clic

Whether you approve or not. Its too late to just remake it, but they could certainly borrow heavily from the spells and ideas.
Hate to break it to you, but you missed my point. If they just remade MOM it wouldn't be "the game" getting 8's and 9's
I got a bit angry in another thread and said this: thread after thread saying turn Elemental into a sequel to an older game. this thread more specifically then others has an ironic title for that. FIX Elemental by turning into NOT Elemental. That makes NO sense. Then it WOULDN'T BE Elemental. Stop trying to talk Brad and his company into re-making other games you loved and let him make his own game, and maybe join him in loving it too. If you w
yes, I posted a Hotseat question in the multiplayer section of the forums. Ironically, I mostly like hotseat for playing by myself with different leaders/factions played by me teamed up against different leaders/factions played by the AI. It gives the game more life past the campaign without requiring mods that change the game or someone else to be around at the time that I want to play (I work and sleep very odd hours) thus making my one game copy sold more valuable to me. <

doesn't need to be in 1.8 but for a future patch I have an idea for balancing sovs to be more powerful against mid and late game squads and monsters (as mentioned in other posts) https://forums.elementalgame.com/395052
