My fast paced games are pretty fast compared to epic as well. Did you install the 1.01 patch? Not yet. I tried a fast game, the tech seems pretty quick, but building up a spearmen can take a dozen of turns at the beginning of the game. I am researching stuff so fast that I don't have the time to build anything.
I am in the middle of a game. I moved an army out of one of my city and now I cannot move it back it. I try to move to a diagonal adjacent square(upper-right) like displayed here: When I right click on the square, the unit move once in that square, then it moves again in it's original position
It seems that when playing with the fast option, it reduce the time to research technology but not the time to make the building and unit. So you end up with many technologies fast with almost no time to build anything. Could it be possible to make fast games speed up building and unit production too?
So when will the "Pixel Mod" art remake for Elemental be released? That could be awesome ... and also reduce the system requirements of the game!?

Cool! I intend to eventually make a Master of Magic Web Site that will probably group everything I'll do or know about MOM. I have the subdomain setup, I just did not have the time to build the website since I did not yet had content to put in it. How about modding the map generator. I played in WOM with the various generator parameters to generate the maps I wanted but sometimes I had to cheat. For example, In WOM, I wanted all edge to be beach, since the generator did not allowed that I had to use a search/replace script to do so. It gave the following results. Eventually, most of these companies either got bought up, disappeared or became work-for-hire studios. It’s a brutal business to be in. It reminds me of the D&D games I played with one of my GM friend. He was not very likely to give a shit load of gold and magical items. So this made these items much more valuable which made players end up worshipping a simple +1 sword.
AI bug found, they don’t put any concern on player build up unless THEY dislike the player. Don't push that one too far, I always hate it where you are in harmony with a player and they suddenly want to kill you if you are too strong. Maybe having allied victory conditions would prevent an AI to turncoat on the player because he know he can win with him. With regard to unfair starting conditions -I think players
I'm with Heavenfall & co on this one; I hate the idea that players who are leading get bogged down with negative random events. Rubberbanding doesn't belong in a 4X game. It looks so daunting to people that have no idea what things mean, even though it really is simple as far as a design goes. What is hard about XML, is not the language itself, but learning how the game designers decided to structure their data.
I can't wait to mod. As for trigger, an Idea I had to keep the player in the game is that you could view each player as an novel story. In a novel, in order to keep the reader reading, there must be a series of interesting events that occurs for the story to be interesting. If you end up with a down or too much events, the reader will not be pleased. Maybe it could be interesting if the player could keep track of how busy is the player. I'll be curious to dig into modding. There are some things like "random events" that does not matter much since players will probably make mod pack with additional event, goodie hot, quests, etc if modding allows to do that. This is just data right, there is little code related to that. So you should focus on finishing adding code based feature than data based feature since those can be easily be added afterward.
I did not download the whole game because I have limited bandwidth per month. But I did not expect other people to have this issue and I did not expect the whole install to fail too. If anybody finds the solution, still post it in this thread so that the others can see.
I did not install all the updates on my computer (which might be the reason of the bug below). So when I tried to install update 0.9.5, I get an error message (don't remember the exact sentence) that say that it cannot find elemental and that according to the resistry, is should be in the following path. But the game seems to be installed in that path. So I was wondering if I had to install all the patch between my version and 0.9.5. The problem is that the previous patches are no

I just had an idea that could be used in elemental. In order to make diplomacy easy to manage, easy to mod while having a lot of diplomatic options, I though that everything could be managed via treaties rather than trading things like in civ. By treaties I mean like in Master of Orion 2 Trade and research treaties. The thing is that you could have a dozen of type of treaties for various type of resources, services and even spell effects (ex: our global spells won't affect each ot
I asked the same thing many years ago and some people replied that the position of the sun in the sky is a better indicator that you should stop playing. I also second the need to of a clock. Even "Warlock" does not have that and I have to look at the time of the save game after I save to know the time. Very annoying.
A bit like the civilization board game where you must survive all the bad events thrown at you. I am close to finish my first game. I played at easy, so I did not have a chance to test much the AI. But I like being able to outsmart or find flaws in an AI.
