Good, as much as I hate to remember it, mankind only advances when disasters start to shove them into track. Look at the moon landing, was it for the science? No, that was just a side bonus, it was to prove to the world that USA leaded the space race and not the USSR. The atomic revolution? Just to make better bombs. America colonization? Slaves and resources. All of the above, and many other examples, prove it, some had horrible consequences, but in the end, g

Hopefully Brad is looking at this, it's great, those cities actually feel like cities, the size of our current ones always weirded me out, acoording to those sizes, a five stories villa would be as high as a mountain! Come on Brad, tell us what you think!

I also read the book, and it points both in favor of the bad guys theme and not. The Fallen are people, we could see that from the legends of Imperium and Calebethon, but they are always pictured as the bad too. They invade, they murder, and most likely do other unspeakable things too. I don't mean to say that humans were much better, with Calis being treated as he was, the king being completely mad, etc. But it would be interesting from reading something from the Fallen's point of vi

Geographical location? Wouldn't it be better to just have it see the clock? It also saves those that will surely find playing at night ALWAYS the pain... While the seasons idea sounds good (some even suggest a change in forests) the seasons move WAY too quickly to be pleasant, every turn the whole world goes color swapped, will look like we were seeing a cartoon timewarp, only without a KOed person in the middle of the screen being covered by snow, leaves, dirt, rinse and repeat (The

Sounds like a good way of making the game more magical... And we do need wonders, those 3 or so right now are too few. I like it, especially the Scrying Tower. like the tower with that huge eye on top of it on Lord of the Rings (No idea of it's name) Eye of the Sovereign? And YouWinBuilding? What a nice name XD Balance surely will be an issue, but im no expert in that matter. On suggestions though... On the top of my head, I would suggest to reverse the Elementium Gene

I can already see some custom factions for Elemental and some new races of GalCiv... I mean, check Society's screenshots, looks like the whole GalCiv universe went down to fight for that world! Let's have the Drengin trying to conquer, the Drath trying to not be banquished from their homewrold... (Isn't there a resource called Drath village?) After all, a world of magic, apparently not that common!

Took me ten good minutes to figure that out... I was all trying to find similarities... Pariden... no, Capitar... no, Altar... no... wait... Honestly thought they were called Atarians due to being on the star Altair... (Haven't played as them in quite a while...) althought Altair means Altar on some language, dont know which. Pure recycle!? But... but... Tandis even told Calis that they arrived at Elemental with something called science! (Starships!) They are mess

First of all, awesome book, wishing for a sequel to be announced. Now... after much consideration, I am left with some questions... During all the book, everyone tends to refer to the Titans as Arnor and Dread Lords... then there is Tandis... And after I finished the book, my mind clicked... wasn't there an Arnor on the ToA campaign of GalCiv? His name was also Tandis... I serously doubt that this is just some lack of imagination or recycling of names, so I won

We just conquered a city.... with trosps... the only ones in it... It is historically acurate, as all houses are made of wood, and I doubt they are using much construction codes while just rebuilding the world... The Mongols burned down Chinese villages; Romans did to half Europe, heck! Even Rome itself burned, while also made of stone! They would surely find a way... And about the food prodution... doesn't the AI has a multiplier or something? Because aft

Perhaps it's a bug, but when I raze a city, building over it is hard... it barely let's me place buildings unless a non ruin tile is adjacent... to effectively build I need to transform all previously city tiles to desert or snow (too slow)... And besides, by the time the raze ability is obtained, I'm pretty much allied with everyone, I like to be the diplomat, stopping each war that erupts with my skills. :P One would believe that setting fire to a city would be intuitive and

Just curious if there is a near future goal to fix that problem were the AI builds like 20 huts in each city in order to reach metropolis (AI, ever heard of houses?!) because so far going to war only ends me with a -100 food disaster, and demolishing half city is no fun at all. Though I wonder... this issue is just becuase I am playing on begginer difficulty? I know that the AI capabilities are reduced... but this borders idiotic... Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer m

It looks great and all but... Am I the only one seeing just too much resources on that last pic? A shard, three gold mines, a fruit grove, that enclave, two farms, a crystal crag, and that beside it which I cannot identify... Was that intentional to see how they reacted or just some unholy luck for Pariden? O.o

Perhaps I didn't explain the victory correctly... I talk about one equal to GalCiv, where if your influence covers certain percentage of the map then you win. If you took all cities through infuence then it would be a conquest victory indeed. Besides, the influencia takeover prevents the enemy from making settlements between your cities to claim a singe resource that has yet to be in your grasp. Not to mention the fact that you could slowly buy his nation until he is eft with

I was playing the game happily, had signed an alliance treaty will the other kingdom (only him and me, with that victory disabled) and then I noticed something... why can't cities change of faction if influence is strong enough? Also, my ally has some cities that I would like to get, without having to declare an all out war... I only mention this because influencial victory and conquer strategy, as well as buying cities through diplomacy was part of galactic civilization (not

Two questions... -Is 1.1 an expansion? Or the expansion will be 2.0 or something completely different? -If I reset my computer after the 31th Octuber, would I still be able to redownload the expansions once I reinstall the game, or I would mess up?

Okay, I may just be too dumb to figure how the map editor works (Wouldn't be the first time...) but I swear that I tried, but to no avail... I can enter the editor, see the ocean, or whatever landmass that was random generated already, as soon as I start, like everyone else, wanting to make lands to place things on first, right? I chose the tool (which I forgot the name of... it is like two arrows, one looking up, and one down) select rugged land (or any other) and try to clic

1) Multiple worlds, I know that they said that it would not occur, but please! We want to invade other alien worlds (Also, to be able to make map that, for example, connect on the sides (Ringworld!)) 2)More modding options, we all know that mods can keep a game alive for looong. 3)The random map generator, like that of GalCiv2 but even better, with all options mentioned above (Even the monsters agressiveness, as I for one like to colonize the world, without much trouble... gam

Everytime that I play a game, at some random point I get that messaje, and then Elemental crashes to the desktop... What can I do to solve it? If I save, can I resume the game or it is lost for good?

I believe that I should mention that I am unable to play the game, seeing that as soon as the world loads (I can see the bottom of screen display) the map itself remains white forever, and it's really annoying, considering that in the beta such bug didn't happen... Hope you can fix it or tell me where I messed up, I'm itching to play :(

Let them be, Stardock's antipiracy method is the best I have seen. Sure, they can pirate it (I have downloaded games like that before, I will admit that) but Stardock games leave you without updates which add so much. I applaud Stardock just for thinking of a way to make people WANT to buy instead of pirating, hence my adoration to them now. I have three games of their games, all official, and it was so well worth it.

May sound dumb... (most likely) but I find that when you make your own channeler, there are few options for certain things... More specifically, bodies, why can I not have a younger looking character (I'm not talking about a kid, but someone like 20) Because all body types and faces are really rugged and manly for what I have in mind... A younger face is too much to ask? Seeing as the youngest option I have is Relias... My apologizes if this whole que
