Regarding the OP's view of the state of the community -- we're in shock and we're mourning. Both will soon pass. Let's not over-react, as this is a normal process after a "loss". Good beta testing requires an unbiased eye. We all have our biases, of course, but it's important that our biases be recognized and minimized as much as possible. Someone in another thread pointed out that linking beta access with pre-ordering adds a bias -- towards fans. It's only natural that our feedback tends to that reflect our bias, try as we might to minimize it. Note I said "tends to", I am not saying the feedback was too biased, or unusably biased, or the

I don't know is your being in the campaign affects this suggestion, I only know about the sandbox game. In sandbox games, when turns stop advancing, it's usually because some unit has its path blocks and so is unable to complete its move. So look for units on auto-explore, or units where you set the destination at more than 1 turn's distance. Some report something about animations not playing out and zooming all the way out allows then to play out, fixing this.

The idea of surrendering/retreating/etc., and not just dying, has merit. Unit morale is already present in the game and could be used for this. Non-fatal outcomes for champs does open up a lot of possibilities as you mention -- ransoming, quests to free (not just freeing one's own champs but freeing a third parties' champs or especially its' royals from a captor to gain a big diplomacy bonus with the third party), bargaining chips in diplomacy, etc. This would be esp
What was supposed to make Elemental special? Why were we supposed to buy it instead of dusting off the old MoM and AoW and Civ games? Does the release version of Elemental deliver on the promises that were made regarding Elemental being special? Elemental will be overhauled pretty much from the ground up. I think it's important to step back and try to remember the original vision for Elemental -- and what was supposed to make it special. The overhaul should

It appears from my simple 'testing' that each temple of essence adds 50% to a caster's base essence (I just built one and my sov's essence bonus went from 260% to 310%, Sov wasn't in that city, and hasn't been there for quite a while). This is one of my pet pursuits -- small but puissant kingdoms being competitive, using magic to offset size. There was a lot of discussion of this goal pre- and during beta. Release took a big step back from this, removing the increasing cost per city constraint on city-spamming. No explanation for it, either (I've looked, did I miss it? Please to link or point me in the direction if so). Still, in both 1.06 and now 1.07 I've been trying this strategy.
For campaign game saves try selecting Campaign, your campaign saves are located there, not where you'd find sandbox saved games.
