We allowed everyone to submit to the bug tracker during the WoM beta, but there was too much spam and it had to be closed to the public.
What? Never heard of it, and I was in the beta as well... The main problem is that I rather not post bugs on this forum because it takes too much time. First I have to find a proper web storage for files and images and upload them, then I have to work with this VERY slow forum and try to g

I'd like to have a better system for reporting beta bugs too. Like a form where you can upload images and debug files... It's such a pain to post screenshots and files on the forum.

Its called the Cartographer's Table and you can find it with the other editors. Lucky
The Cartographers table can be called many things, "good" is not one of them.
I'd like a good map editor. Like in say... AoW. :)
Ah, cool. Thanks for answering!
With Fallen Enchantress, we already know what the engine can and can't do and can design based on that. That's why is it so different from WOM in gameplay. It was designed from scratch with the engine in mind. When WOM was designed, there was no engine yet. There was a list of capabilities we assumed the engine would have.
There's one thing I don't get. You keep making it sound lik
Play WoM then, it looks like crap.

Awesome! Now, can we have FE beta plz? [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
A summoning spell idea from AoW: Call of the forest. Strategic spell that spawns a random creature to do your bidding in nearby woodlands each turn.
For example, if an Earth Elemental is summoned in tactical combat it only lasts for that battle. If an Earth Elemental is summoned on the world map then it stays with that army, but has a mana maintenance cost that must be paid each turn.
I really like this. :) I only noticed two summoning spells though... [e digicons]:([/e] Looks like the different elements will require different play styles as well, that is awesome if it
I'm sorry, I disagree that FE will have the same boring TC. We will have to wait and see, but don't assume. It is supposed to be one of three KEY areas in FE that they focus on. Maybe it's shit, maybe it's great.
Ofc I have no idea what TC will be like in FE, and it will no doubt be better than in WoM. But since Derek wants TC to be quick so that you can "return to the main game" faster, I kind of wonder how
The problem is that no one at Stardock is interested in tactical combat. Derek is a Civ guy, he does not see the importance of it. FrogBrad has expressed that he wants TC to be over quickly. So FE will have the same problem as WoM in this regard. And they are stuck with some ideas that kind of limits Tactical combat, like "a sovereign should be able to take out an army". Why? Luckily it is easy to mod. Just give trained units 20 base hp and suddenly the game is more interesting.

There's a squirrel trait? Let me guess, "The unit is an expert at collecting acorns and can regain lost hp when located in a forest". :) I'm also a bit worried about the low HP. Unless something is done to attack/defense rolls, we will have glass cannons again.
Sorry to go back on topic but... I made a mod where all trained units have 22hp instead of 2, and it works surprisingly well even without changing anything else. It didn't unbalance things dramatically (except maybe for tactical spells), a semi-powerful sov can still beat a group even if it has high hp. Tactical battles just got a lot more interesting. A positive side effect is that these high-hp groups can go scouting with no risk of getting killed and eaten by a bear and
When you start a new game, half the fun will be simply exploring the land!
Yesyesyes! Unrelated question: Are you making the cloth map prettier as well?
When WoM is done, what will keep you coming back to play the game? And just as importantly, what factors will stop you from playing the game long-term?
When FE beta comes I will probably not ever start WoM again. Main reasons for me: Boring world and basicly no Tactical battles (both are probably fixed in FE).
Why do you spend time on War of Magic still? Don't you want to make absolutely perfectest game with Fallen Enchantres? I'd rather wait for couple of month more and get OMG TEH BEST GAEM EVA then get slightly better War of Magic... Which I hadn't played since 1.1.
It's not such a waste of time as you think, stuff that gets developed for WoM might get implemented for FE as well. Like the event system.
Awesome wallpaper! You're making a classic guys. Can't wait for the beta.
Dropping the pop system seems fine to me, it increased complexity but not entertainment. Some questions arise though... Without a population we no longer have a connection between building structures and training units... Do we need this? About glass canons. Increasing HP is complicated as you run into several other things that need to be adjusted, like spell damage, moster hp, quality modifiers etc... So I understand that it is not an easy thing to change. But still, an increase in H
I'm not a big fan of the population system either, but that is probably because I don't fully understand how it works. It seriously needs to be more transparent. Right now I'm just placing buildings and suddenly I can't do anything because I've reached a secret cap... But I do understand the point of it. The point is to connect the construction of buildings with the training of soldiers, which I think is a good idea at least on paper. If it makes for a fun game tha
