What kind of FE you would like to play?
I want the world to be interesting and good looking, so that I can enjoy exploring it. I want tactical combat to not just be a manual version of auto combat. More RPG and combat, less city building.
You can do that already, in the quick selection list (Q) press 1..8 while the mouse is over an item, be it weapon, potion, spell, anything. Why you can't do that from the inventory itself boggles the mind.
Cool, thanks.

Age of Wonders had useless boat AI as well. It built plenty of boats but almost never loaded and transported any units with them. Can't we just have auto boats like in the older HoMM games? If you enter a water tile you turn into a boat and lose movement for one turn. Better than nothing imo.
Quest help.... SPOILER UNDER HERE --->
I have the three fragments of the amulet in the forbidden quest. (The quest where the names of the three sons has been removed from all records, back in the first age.) I have no idea what to do with the three fragments. Forge them together, but no forge will do it. The quest log says to get fragment in <fill in na

Take your time with FE, no rush. I'm playing Skyrim right now anyway... But don't forget to give us teaser videos and screenshots! And randomness ftw. :)
The cloth map would certainly benefit from this idea. It would be nice for the user to be able to add text in areas to give some personalization to each game. Naming rivers, mountains, and valleys would make exploring so much more immersive.
Agree. And why not make simple 2D models for units instead of those ugly statues or whatever they are. It's impossible to tell what is what in the cloth map the way i

I think it would be more interesting to connect the outpost maintenance with population. Lets say the road between outpost and capital needs to be defended. Default is no defense, which gives you X amount of resources from that outpost each turn. Poor defense gives 2X, Medium 3X and Good defense give 4X.The better defense you want, the more population you will have to tie up (which means less production etc). And it should not require you to build something, it should just be a choice
On tiny, for instance, I"m not sure wild lands will typically be in there because of the size. On large, it depends on which ones get picked since they're not all the same size.
Oooh I get it, they are not random in size, but more like terrain stamps. Kind of like a dungeon crawl on the main map!

Very cool, I really like the concept. Having an interesting world is top priority imo. WoM failed badly in that respect. Btw, I demand hi-res screenshots. [e digicons]:borg:[/e]
One thing I noticed in this thread that nobody commented on: Visually, the tactical battles look way better than they did in WoM. The UI is pretty, the animations are realistic, and the armor designs look interesting.
Agreed, battles look really neat! In the second battle where two spearmen gets shot down by arrows, great animation!

A bit sad to see the same boring landscapes as in WoM. Either completely flat or a mountain. Is it really that hard to create hills?

I'm one of those people who buy DLC... Yes, I bought the Koreans and all those other civilizations... [e digicons][/e] The way I see it, I spend so much money on non game related crap daily, so spending a few $ on something that is actually entertaining is totally worth it. DLC for FE could be a new campaign, for example.
The campaign will be good and engaging.
I think this is cool. Campaign + sandbox = two games in one.
EVERYONE who bought Elemental: War of Magic in 2010 will get FE for free. Automatically.
I agree with the others, it feels wrong somehow. Initially when I was frustrated with WoM I was like "Hell yeah I deserve free gamez!!1". But now, after following you guys through all the hard work, it feels like I&#

I have an idea. SD has an awesome 2D artist. Let him draw a "painting" of each sov, a painting that shows the sov in the way he/she wants to be remembered (like the classic Henry VIII portrait). When you look at a sovs details, you see him in 3D with all gear, watching the 2D portrait in his castle. The portrait can also be hanging on the wall behind the sov in the diplomacy screens.
