[quote who="Aeon221" reply="16" id="2849393"]Fewer but bigger attacks will make combat, and thus the game, more random. Not sure how I feel about this. More one hit kills is not a good thing. However, combat is already stupid long and imba towards melee. Reducing the melee output 66%-80% would cut out a lot of cheese and make magic out and out better on a per turn basis. Still, it's lipstick on a pig. 4/5ths of the tech tree is at best borderline useless. 3/

Two things I would like to see changed: 1) Whenever a player hovers over an icon of anything that requires resources (for a building or improvement), the UI should display the number of resources required and an icon/picture of that resource. What we have now is a number and a string: '25 materials' - this looks cumbersome and I always catch myself reading the word. The brain can identify pictures and symbols faster than words - it will be easier on the eyes this way. 2) Inste

I think your fear is unfounded. I believe SD knows what they are doing vis-a-vis fan feedback and its implementation in the game.
I agree, this is a good idea. To be honest I hope they redo the whole empire tree because it can get very messy very fast. Besides, it seems like SD just took the empire tree from Sins and slapped it on Elemental. Although there is nothing wrong with this, it feels and looks dated. It needs to look like it belongs in 2010 and not 2007 - both visually and functionally.
I just got an out of memory error at turn ~580. Screen froze and was booted to desktop with a message saying 'Out of Memory'. Debug file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8680122/debug_oom_15_12_2010.err Dump file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8680122/Elemental1_1-2010-12-15T23-33-34-547.dmp
No they don't have it. The name was just not erased from the trait list.
[quote quoting="post"] The Civilisation, Warfare, and Diplomacy trees could all be moved to buildings that are unlocked at different city levels. Or are unlocked on events. As an example, Town Halls unlock at level 3. Schools unlock at level 4. Want to build chain-armour troops? At level 4 you can build a blacksmith that will allow you to build chain-mail at that city. Want plate? After you have built a blacksmith you can then build an Armourer in the same city. And so on. Ca
Yeah I posted about this a week ago while v1.1 was still in beta. This bug has been in the game since the organized ability was first removed.
Steps to reproduce bug: 1. Get negative gildar. Shown by negative sign and red gildar amount font. 2. Use alchemy spell (converts mana into gildar) to go back into positive gildar 3. Negative sign disappears but gildar amount is still shown in red

The CEO of Stardock picking up python and trying to learn "on the job" on how to integrate deep modding like that? No. Wrong. The correct path is to find people who are already gods at this. Due to the fact that you will be out of alphabet possibilities. (assuming standard English). So at the present rate of 1 update a day, you will have to go 1.1 on Friday. I don't think Beta numbering follows standard English. Think more like Excel. After Z comes AA, AB....AZ,

As far as I am concerned all of these post-release patches we are getting are simply an extension of development. I'm getting a little bit annoyed by posts saying
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="49" id="2842892"] If the consensus is that we should push v1.1 into January, we can do that but it could effectively end Elemental if it's the wrong choice since this Christmas is, effectively the first impression most people will get of the game (sales are already starting to reach a new height and I see some of the support tickets from v1.09). That's why it's important to make the determination of which game is better - v1.09 or v1.1 (what we have + fi
I'd say wait until January for 1.1. There are still plenty of bugs in the game and they need to be dealt with before you start moving on to other patches. Also, this would be an excellent opportunity for you (and Derek) to see what the team can do with an extra bit of time. EDIT: Tempestwrath made an excellent point. Take the time to make the game look polished!

Civ IV for instance had issues til about the time of release of BTS.. and the vanilla patch tha

It's awesome that you're giving WoW a shot - it's a great game. Make sure you fully soak up the leveling experience, especially with Cata's release.
