I'm not in love with FE the way I was with GC2. It's a lot better than EWoM, and I trust it will get even better. But still, at the current beta level, it has that essential quality in a TBS game - I'm going to play just one more turn. One more turn. One more turn. One more turn. OMG it's 1AM.
While you're learning, you might want to use the option at the start to customize the number of AI opponents, to reduce their number. Or play on a larger map.
It should be possible to turtle in 0.86, you can win by casting the spell of making. I did that in my last game after exploring only about 40% of the map. At the start you'll need to found a city and train some clubmen (and later spearmen) to keep your sovereign and champion(s) from getting killed, and train some pioneers to grab resources. I'd say you'd need to expand to two or three towns so you'll have places to build the buildings you need for the spell.&

Bad news no beta this week. Hmm, should I start a whole new playthrough of ME/ME2/ME3? That should give Bioware time to fix the ending. [e digicons][/e]
Would it help if we tweet about #FallenEnchantress?
I've never had that many armies, but I have had the problem with armies at the top and cities under them. After capturing enough opponents' cities, I could not scroll down to see them all. I was able to scroll that list in the .77 patch, but it doesn't seem to work in .86. Even in .77, it was tempermental about the cursor placement at the bottom of the screen to get it to scroll down, but in .86 it seems broken.
The saved game problems seem to happen when you load autosave or quick save files. As I recall, it didn't happen in the .77 version. Anyway, manual saves seem to work better in .86, although if you save and reload in the middle of a wildlands quest, it forgets you had the quest.
Have you tried emailing ? Some other people who have posted here with install problems have gotten help that way.

I think it was the spell of mastery that did it. Would have been nice if there was some way to tell.
I had started casting the Spell of Mastery, could that be it? I think the last time I cast it was on a previous beta when it didn't do this.
My army has 4 move points, yet cannot move: Does the red X above the army mean that someone has cast a spell, explaining why it can't move?
I don't think you can in this version. The next beta drop is reported to contain lots of changes to diplomacy, so maybe some of what you want will be there.
This has been reported several times. When it happened to me, it was fire elementals spawning in the ocean.
I can't imagine that this is the very first post on the inconsistencies of pathfinding near cities, but I haven't seen any talk about it recently, or, IIRC, at all from the developers
No it's not the first post, we've just gotten tired of talking about it. It's horrible. It's so bad that I frequently move my armies one tile at a time, and move them piecemeal through towns if speed is critical. As for the cap, yes there is a c
I think I recall that Frogboy said that the way this works was being changed in the next patch. He's introduced a "Clink" attack that harmlessly bounces off.

In the game's current state, you pick up a lot of stuff that you have to sell to be able to keep your taxes low. So having to move back to the city to sell it would be a major pain. Now if the game evolves so that you no longer pick up so much stuff, or there's little need in the early game to go to the shop, then I might change
I agree with Rhadagast.

It can help if you choose the bakery as a city level up option, but you still have to have a good starting location.
