(below assumes you are participating in Beta too, 1.09a etc) 1. Right now it spawns resource(s) within 15 tiles of your capital (read in changelog somewhere). I think its random enough that it includes any resource, even had things like Ventri mines spawned. You may want to wait until you have more cities out, I don't think you find stuff just by extending your border post-research. 2. Not sure if thats max, there is a civ bonus that c

As stated many times elsewhere. +1
hehe anyone else get that 1.08 Major Update message when they logged in ? :D
Did you grab them all on same turn maybe? Perhaps it takes a turn for the game to realize you found that city, like it takes a turn for a new city to have influence/shop/etc.
At the same time, there have been developers who have released smoking piles of buggy crap and then left it to dry in the sun and be stepped on. How is that a justification for anything? When you want to see how well you did something you don’t measure yourself against people that perform worse than you… What are you hoping to accomplish with that statement? <b
Yeah I could list off recent purchases that have pretty much destroyed my desire to buy games new again to prove Istari's point but I won't. Only bad example I can think of for Stardock is Demigod but maybe they were just the publisher for that one, I'm no expert here.
Each year should be 16 turns: 4 turns of each season. It would be nice if seasons impacted gameplay some how. One "elemental year" would not have to be equal to one "earth year". Who says that Elemental orbits its star as quickly as Earth? Children in Elemental could grow up significantly within the span of one "elemental year" if each season lasted the length of 4 seasons here on Earth.
Yes this is exac
How does civ bonus, city bonus, and city improvement bonus stack anyways? If I have 10 tech + civ bonus + City bonus + School is it: A ) 10 + 10% + 25% + 25% = 10 + 60% = 16 or B ) 10 + 10%+ 25% + 25% = 17.19 rounded somehow or C ) some completely other combination due to way game mechanics are implemented.
I foresee a huge problem. We're going to run out of letters to use for new update versions soon.
I think someone at stardock mentioned that they go into 1.09aa, 1.09ab, etc when this happens. To spoil you, imagine daily patches like this for a month! [e digicons][/e]
Stupid question here. Are AI changes added each patch like crashfixes or are they only added when specifically mentioned in changelog? I'm so glad Stardock has such great post-release support. I wish I could go a few months in the future and play an Elemental I won't even recognize, while a lot of developer/publishers out there simply drop all support post-release as if they never were involved in the game in the first place :D
I've always felt that base teleport should teleport JUST the caster, and that a much higher level teleport should be used for a caster+army, with a major cost associated.
Indeed, teleport is pretty OPed right now. I shouldn't be able to be stomping an AI only having them be some sort of super genius and have an army actually attacking me at the same time that will crush a city or two of mine and then be able to te
Well kids would have to be adjusted. Which would help prevent people from spamming children like the octomom :D I think weeks would work well for RP reasons too. It takes a season to move a tile or two? How big is this place, my iron mine must be the size of China heh. Might not work as great if devs plan to have seasonal differences like spring/summer/fall/winter with graphical/gameplay effects.
Is it me, or is there no way to cancel an alliance, research or trade treaty ?
Right, this here drives me nuts. They can waltz through your territory and setup cities on resources right outside your border that you plan to take and there is nothing you can do about it....ever! At the very least please give us the ability to cancel or make these only last a few years before both parties have
Very fascinating
Still a bug though if a reload instantly changes it. Just not in the way you thought :D
Haven't gotten too deeply into any games since last patch yet, hopefully will have some time later this weekend to help beta test. Did encounter some generally low priority bugs: - Sometimes when quests are completed the shiny light animation on related tiles doesn't go away -Got an early spouse in one game, equipped her with a spear and set her to defend capital while I explored with Sov. Bandit conquered capital without any battle happening as i
Hey, you have an ability on paper that is awesome at least [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
Quoting Trojasmic, reply 27Let me throw out another plea for our capitals producing 1 materials. We're still forced as players to build workshops and any time you take "choice" away from the player, you should just give it to them. As it is today, we start with 5 materials so we can a) build a archivist, build a lore shop, or c) build a farm and then we're stuck ... we have to build a workplace before we can build anything else (
I might just be a little slow but I think a lot of the 'y/n' dialogue can be confusing and sometimes I hit the wrong answer when I want to fight. I can't think of any specific examples but one was something like "Darkspawn are super weak" and "Are you sure you want to fight" and I hit the first one which was apparently the No answer and the second option was me taunting them as I start the fight apparently? I definitely second OP on persistent sites until completed or f
Glad to see the wolf getting the boot and this sure explains why I thought those sand golems were a bit too strong...they could actually help me fight extreme cheating AI early game :P Hope this is out before weekend but take as much time as you need please! This week's patches have been simply amazing. What if instead of 1 mana upkeep for enchants a spell is "Cost: X*Y" where X is the number of turns you want it to l
I think its just an initial bonus they get to make the AI competative. I hate it myself but until the AI can play the game and stomp us at it I guess the only way for them to have a chance is if we are forced to give them time to beef up. At the very least I've never had any AI just suddenly declare war on me within 100 turns so they are pretty passive early game. Though it can be a real hassle when an AI spawns right by your starting spot, especially if it walls you in

Dynasty system definitely needs more love. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense atm but a good system would add to the game's unique attractiveness. Aging and perhaps people dying from old age would be a nice addition too. Giving away your daughter should at least get you some loot or political deal in return.
I'm normally against events being too wild that they change the game drastically. However maybe it can be like how spawns increase in power as silly adventurers stumble into tombs and wake them up. Random events begin as tiny bonuses and later game random events are very powerful. Could also have negative events along with the positive. Also a setting for those who like more/less/none random events that you can setup when you start the game.
Enhanced Diplomacy Right now your Sovereign is godlike in his intelligence gathering. You know exact stats of other factions, what tech level they are at, even their income rates! I propose as a way to make Diplomacy path more useful we add Intelligence related techs which would add spy type units and related structures to defend against spying. In addition your own intelligence of other factions would be minimal at best without use of said spies.
