I think this idea is extremely well thought out and perfectly intuitive. Granted, the current system is intuitive as well, albeit quite traditional (kill people/things, receive gold). However, I like the way the OP's idea would create more of an equilibrium as mentioned. Whether or not the game is ready or even requires a complete overhaul in the gold system is another issue; nevertheless, I think AngryZealot's idea is brilliant and shouldn't go

Funny thing is, I posted this because I was tired of waiting and wanted to vent/hear others' thoughts. Yet, as soon as I finished making this thread, I booted up DG to find absolutely seamless menu function. It must happen sporadically during times of server stress because it really is, thankfully, an off/on thing.

It happens randomly. Lately, especially, I've been getting it a lot when logging in. I don't understand. Sometimes the menus are seamless, but other times I honestly ctrl-alt-del my game. I'll just go and do something else 'cuz waiting makes me not feel like playing anymore. Anyone else experience this or know of a way to eliminate it? - andpancakes

I love stories such as this. That particular type of back and forth game where all hope seems lost until one pivotal moment is what keeps me coming back. Of course, utter pwnage is always fun, but nothing is as intense, rewarding or prideful as a come-back victory where NO ONE gives up. I'm so glad this game's dynamic allows for such swings.

I don't have any elaborate stories like those posted above; however, I found them hilarious and enjoyed them all immensely. I could just see it all in my head: the rage banter - "omfg u r teh worst demigawd!11!1one!1." Basically, the worst teammates are those who get greedy. They don't understand the chase-tag dynamic: they will fiendishly run after an opponent DG into enemy towers until they realize that they can't actually kill the
i hope they get to fix the targetting/ability cast bug asap. This thing has got to be the most annoying in game bug for me. (bug being that sometimes, your DG wont cast anything until you give it a move order and then order it to cast again. Especially annoying when you play a support DG (sedna or QoT) and you need to cast something to your ally to save him, only to find out it didnt casted and the two seconds it takes you to m

I mean, yeah, I imagine it would cause problems (that question in my OP was almost rhetorical; I just want a Stardock employee to comment), but I am wondering to what extent. And honestly, most people who are fine with connectivity stuff should realize that they themsevles don't need the proxy at all. So, hopefully the fortitude of us gamers will prevent any such greediness which would lead to mass problems.

So, Brad said this in one of his latest journals: " /serverproxyonly which will force Demigod to have our servers host your connection. You put this as a parameter for your Demigod shortcut." I am wondering: what if everyone gets greedy and decides to do this, even IF they already connected fine without proxies in the first place? Would this flood the proxy servers and cause mass problems? Just wondering if you guys thought of this. So, yeah...&n
Sedna's Heal is actually overpowered against UB if anything, removing Spit and healing a huge amount of damage. This can be cast on other players. Oak's Shield removes it, heals him, and makes him immune to damage for X seconds. This can be cast on other players. Queen's Bramble Shield has the same cooldown, costs less mana, and will prevent all the damage from a spit. This can be cast on ot
Looking at the current server stats, it appears to be about a 50/50 split between beta and non-beta games.
No, it's more like 99% non-beta/1% beta. I just loaded up Demigod with the latest beta patch, and there were zero games to be found. So, I am currently uninstalling/reinstalling because I actually want to PLAY some games.
I am HAPPY with the gameplay. For release of the game I have never played a game that is so close to perfect balance. There are always arguable over powered abilities, but even with that this game just being released, it seems closer to balanced than most games. I am HAPPY with the way the programmers/developers/managers have handled the community. Many developers involed with games feel they are "above" those who purchased their game and do not

"just offer the 'victory' popup window as soon as there are only ai:s left on one side. This way we dont have to stay 20 mins extra to bash the AI citadel all the time... this gets old fast." I LOVE this idea. Brilliant. It's so simple, yet it would be just the right solution I think. You get the humans to quit and bail, so you win. Simple as that.

I like these ideas from the OP. They seem interesting, and if implemented officially or via mod, I would try them enthusiastically. In any case, SOMETHING needs to be done about rage-quitters and even "honorable quitters" -- whether that SOMETHING be a fundamental change in gameplay to which point comebacks are more possible; or some kind of added incentive to stay and play the game through, win or lose.

Certainly. The cooperation required in this sort of game could be enhanced with built-in VoIP for those who aren't members of, for instance, a Ventrillo server. Furthermore, Skype tends to use too many system resources and, in my experiences with it, results in a lot of lag (choppy voices, if nothing else). So, yeah, for those who also aren't even apart of any arranged team, built-in VoIP would drastically decrease their chances of not getting pwnt by MY uber-coope

I like this. I love the idea of a nuker/support mage. I am a HUGE fan of casters in RPG-type games, so this is very appealing to me. "Abiilty 2. Spell: Immunity. Makes friendly demigods immune from attacks for 2,3,4 seconds (depending on level)." So, this is basically like Oak's invulnerability shield, correct? I imagine that this also means, if this skill is included, that this Demigod would HAVE&nbsp

I have gotten this error a few times. It is quite random and very rare for me. I'm not sure what triggers it; I run the game fine 95% of the time. Nonetheless, this DOES occur that 5% of the time for me. Not sure why - but it happens. Clearly it's random for me but methodical for others. What does this imply? I have no idea.

The thing is, you must balance citadel upgrades with Demigod upgrades. Often you won't need to upgrade your citadel until you're level 9 or so. For instance, if you get priests too early then suffice it to say that your opponents will often welcome this decision; that is, early priests can sometimes "feed" your enemies. That is, if you don't have good enough control of the map, they can creep grind and gain more levels (since priests are just another thing to kill for E
