Quoting AnnihilatorX, reply 11 So you meant you will acknowledge others when they worship you lol. I just want you guys to quit being so insistent that your solution is best when others are clearly better.... your stubborn-ness is holding up progress in this thread.... Quoting AnnihilatorX, reply 11 I actually acknowledged your solution
you know guys, I thought I read that the AI that gets replaced when a human leaves is a Normal AI.... we could try giving them a Hard or Nightmare AI... ever think of that? Or *gasp* a setting to set what kind of AI should get substituted in the event of player drops that enables them to better scale between pro and newbie games! Even if the AI is given bonuses due to their difficulty level it still makes more sense t
AI will play a part in the game.
This is true. It is a very basic, realistic and practical fact . Thus, our argument stands as long as AI exist in this game, and no one can deny that they will always exist in this game. Despite any future upgrades/improvements to the artificial intelligence in Demigo
This is another great solution to a big problem. Either a. remove the AI from taking over, which has been suggested many times, or b. this, which is a reall good idea. No feeding on silly AI to get easy wins. Like someone else said, its a big enough advantage as it is. Fed on a stupid human player, who quit, leaving 3 v 2 (+ AI). Thats already a huge advantage so no, no reward at all for killing the AI. Please, GPG, do som

I'm shocked that there isn't universal agreement on this. Such is the nature of opinion, right? But nonetheless, I'm sure that anyone disagreeing with the suggestion at hand must realize how this will eliminate the AI feeding problems (and eliminating the feeding problem would make any game which was unfortunately made unfair due to incoming AI all the sudden a bit more reasonable to deal with). Therefore, your disagreement confounds me. And thou

That just sounds like menu-lag from high server traffic. Menu-lag is sporadic; it happens from time to time. Just give it a few minutes, and it should eventually go to the next menu. If you are crashing then that's a different story...

For some reason, I have been getting more crashes than normal. A lof of fatal errors and unhandled exceptions. I have no idea what has changed in my system (AMD Dual-core 2.8Ghz, 4 gigs of ram, Nvidia 8800 Ultra, Vista 64bit) that would cause these crashes. At first I thought it might've been that I updated my graphics drivers, but I sort of ruled that out (although not entirely; it just seems illogical). Anyway, I used to only crash very sporadically, maybe once every

It's as simple as an exploit, really. Because people know how easy/rewarding it is to kill/farm AI, they tend to go out of their way to kill one (and who wouldn't? It nets fast, easy, convenient gold/exp). There is a pattern to AI actions/reactions, so it's not hard to figure it out. Thus, killing them involves minimal risk with big rewards. The cost-benefit analysis is too skewed in the favor of benefit. If when human player X drops/rage-quits, this skew w

Well, I re-installed the drivers from May, 2009 and have had zero problems. No more crash-fest. How in the world could new drivers affect this game so negatively? I mean, I understand the drivers are brand spankin' new (they released June 18th, 2009), but how does that cause compatibility issues? This is the first time I've ever had to revert BACK to old drivers. By the way, my card is an Nvidia 8800 Ultra.

So today I downloaded and installed the latest graphics drivers for my Nvidia 8800 Ultra which were released on June 17, 2009. I periodically update my drivers, as all gamers should. However, today I've experienced like 3 crashes to desktop in a row, all of which bring up the debugger with the following error message. Now, it could be a coindidence, but I've never gotten so many crashes in such a short span of time before. Random crashes have occured for me before

Sounds very similar to the Team Fortress 2 nemesis system: when someone kills you repeatedly, the entire server is notified that Player X is Player X's nemesis. However, when you get revenge on that person even once, everyone is again notified accordingly. The reward in Team Fortress 2 is simply the pride of it all. In Demigod, extra gold/exp would be cool. - andpancakes

I agree. Honestly though, I don't think we'll ever get any legit indication of whether or not a team is premade. It'll just be up to the community to be polite and forthcoming enough to say, "3v3 we are premade," for instance. And for that to actually stick and be commonplace will be the real challenge. I myself have a few online friends with whom I get together

Not everyone is Blizzard who takes 10 years to develop a game, though. I still think the game was deserving of acclaim at its release regardless of all of its blunders.

Notice how Frogboy always mentions that Custom Games work relatively flawlessly, yet Pantheon/Skirmish games still need some work (something which we can all attest to). This simple fact is perhaps unfortunate for the growth of the community if, in fact, the OP is correct in his projection and analysis. Because the elite of Demigod mostly reside in Custom Games (e.g. premades) and becaus

I'd love to see a REP from either GPG or SD comment on this officially. It'd just make us all feel better if these monikers for each particular bug (dubbed by the OP, InfiniteVengeance</
