I'd like to see champion armor sets for non plate wearers. A champ set for Assassins and Commanders (Chain) and one for casters (Cloth or leather). This would also add to the tech tree stretching it out a tad before we get to the repeatable techs.
Derek and team, I found the folders > CoreWeapons & CoreArmour. Do these two folders list all the weapons? I am wanted to look at a spreadsheet that lists every 174 weapons possible in the game. Is that in the 'Coreweapons' folder? Larsenex
Thanks Joeball. I am going to restart a NEW game slightly more difficult. I wanted to create the BEST Mage. So what race and traits would you go for to start? What elemental spells would you go for? Fire and Life? Fire and Death?
Oh yes there are about 7 staves you can get. Most are attack value of 6 or 7, The fire ones are better at a value of 11 I think. My complaint, is there is no mage weapons comparable to the higher melee weapons such as Heartseeker.
I am playing 1.7. I have not seen any mage stuff drop. Ill look for it.
Greetings! I am finishing up a game right now and I realized something since I have been playing. I typically create a race and make the champion a warrior. I also tried mage. Warriors can get Champion plate mail and wield an awesome sword such as 'Heart Seeker' into battle. Both improve the Warrior ( A LOT!!) and are fun to play with. Mages get nothing. I mean there is no equivalent armor or weapon that i have found playing over 100
I have installed Black Market. I have enabled Mods. The game asked me to restart and I did. How can I tell if the mod is selected let alone even working? Thanks much!
I want to thank you for this Mod. First thing I noticed was combat. Far more dodges between enemy units and my troops than before. Also the lack of resources was a wake up call. I had to WAIT first then send pioneers out to far flung areas to secure crystals and iron. I am about midgame and killed my first Fell Dragon. What schools do you prefer? I like water, I also found Death 'ok' the 'kill' spell takes too long to get going and dragons resist it about 1/2 the time. Life would be good I suppose, and of course Fire is great all around for aoe killing goodness!
I am using the patchwork mod and the experience on lvling your main seems to be a bit better. Also the trees are changed quite a bit. I have found that a Warrior around mid game in chain with at least a pike is just awesome. Also the mage, while not a big sword weilder can do significant damage in melee if given proper equpement. They suffer from lack of defense as they cannot equip chain or plate. However put the mage with a ranged weapon in back and he will cast
I too got sucked into this game. I am a die hard Gal Civ II fan and over on the Gal civ III forums there is many references to this game. I never knew about it and figured if Brad can make a great 4x space, obviously this had to be good. I was not disappointed. I am going to head home and install the patchwork mod and restart an entirely NEW game. I think I will stick to my tired and true formula of one handed pig stickers and a warrior class sovereign.
So aside from Mage, I have also read that Defender is very good. I just cant seem to find any thing about this class that is fun. What classes (BESIDES Mage) do you find fun to play with? Assassin is also fun but you do not get the fun of donning Champion armor later in game. Thoughts?
I use the maps pack will the mod above.."patchwork" still work, meaning can I isntall it and still play on random huge maps?
What do you prefer and why? I am going to do another game going pure warrior and grabbing plate early. I really do not like the defender class. I cant seem to have fun with it. So on that note, One handed spears or Athican longswords at start or neither?

I would really like to add my own music while playing. Is there a way to do this? For example in Distant Worlds they have a music folder and you simply drop in (any) music you want into it and it will follow and cue with the the other in game music. Its absolutely awesome! I am really interested in listening to some classical music, Bach, Mozart, Grieg and such.

Ah, well Ok, I have an Air and Water mage and I suppose it will help my haste spells.
So I am proceeding down the mage path. I got Blizzard from the water line and I am thinking about getting the 'aeoromancy' thing in Mage to get Lightning bolt. Now, Blizzard is +6 dmg per water shard and lightning bolt I guess is only +10 dmg in a strait line. Um both of these seem like they suck. How does one get higher numbers? Thanks for the above. I created a Warlock with Brilliant, Hardy, and Enchanters. Tough on the going but I now have a full army. I have a new fondness for healing actually as I can heal the unit while it gets beat on!
This kind of helps. Do we have a PDF of the trees that I can download? For example General has lots of things to choose while leveling like 'tinker' and potential. Are all the other professions the same or vastly different? Thanks much!

Oh wow! I will simply have to try that. What is the deal with having 4 books/schools of magic (THEN) picking mage and never having enough points to get good any anything? So should I simply focus on say Water magic (to get Blizzard) and then put the rest in say 'evoker' to build up % increase in damage? I was going to go Krax to get my army equipped with short spears early. I like short spears, very handy. <p
