Same thing happened to me. CC expired since I pre-ordered, now I have to wait for Beta. I did pre-order, so hopefully it won't take too long.

What about having gun powder being part of the technologies you have to find? Once you discover it in the world, you can then research ways to use it.

Also, perhaps the longer someone is at their job, the better they are at it. Except for slaves, and perhaps laborers.

I like the idea, but perhaps it shouldn't be a simple progression. We would need to figure out what citizens add to the empire and design different types based on that. Some ideas could include... Craftsmen increase production and taxes, neutral on research, and weak on political influence and cultural influence. Enlightened Folk increase research and cultural influence, neutral on taxes and politics, but don't add to production as much. Statesmen increa

I kind of like the early art. It had a style to it that I really liked that is lost a bit when the better graphics are used. Maybe it's just me.

In the game M.U.L.E. there were random events, some good and some bad. The better you were doing, the more likely a bad event would happen to you and the less likely a good event would happen to you. And the wose you were doing, the opposite would be true. However, the random events rarely turned the tide. There could be something here. Help the player that needs it the most, but not so much so that it is actually a bad thing to be in first place.

[quote who="NTJedi" reply="10" id="2350829"] One thing I remember about the Space Empires diplomacy was the delay of turns. For example I send a peace agreement, they send a counter agreement, I accept the counter agreement, then they read my acceptance of the counter agreement. The problem here was only after "they read my acceptance of the counter aggreement" would space violence stop between the two players.... they'd be attacking my ships and vise versa.

You can offer varying degrees of concessions, treaties, trade, use of bases, etc in exchange for similar over xyz turns. It's WAY better than the simplistic system in GalCiv2 in that you can actually offer allies use of your starbases and then take it away when they're bad, you can lock people into trade agreements tied up with military assistance treaties, etc.

[quote who="landisaurus" reply="42" id="2341585"] Of course this is all opinion. I'd say that most of us agree that AoW did not "FEEL" like MoM. MoM felt like Cizilization with armies and magic. AoW felt like HoMM with economy, diplomacy, and a "main wizard" type character. I'd agree it was close. When I played AoW I kept noting things that were more or less a direct rip from MoM. But the general game-style was too far off to be a s

The easiest way to make sure all races are balanced is to make all races the same. Age of Wonders, a game I love, had this problem where the races felt too similar. http://e
