I am unable to select magical proficiences on custom character creation. When I hover over each of the types of magic I dont get a tooltip in character creation.

I am a big fan of Gnilbert's ideas. They create a much more dynamic and interactive combat experience. Gnilbert's ideas seem to be developed with implementation in mind. There are many great ideas out there, but no all of them are practical from a development side. We need to see more ideas, like this, that are not only well thought out, but reasonable to implement in game. Nice as always. Thanks Gnilbert!
Gnilbert, played with your mod this evening, its quite a bit of fun. Are you planning on keeping it updated?
I am getting the download error as well. Box.net has a pretty solid file hosting option for free that is easy to setup.
Great looking effects. Has anyone sucessfuly added a spell to the game? If so could you please post the xml here and which files you had to change. Even after the tutorial I seem to be missing something. Thanks
Yes, I did follow it, but still no luck. Is everything in the tutorial still current?
Has anyone sucessfully created new spells? I can't seem to get them to show up. Items yes, spells no.
There seems to be a lot of debate on the usefulness of champions. I have outlined my thoughts and potential solutions below. Issues: - They don’t seem to scale well in the late game compared to squads of soldiers - Imbuing them with magic isn’t really worth it due to the (current) low power of magic - &nbs
There are certain places in some of the XML files that use CDATA which is not parsed by the XML document. This seems to be used to make calculations. Example: Expression <sp
Dioxus are you still supporting this tool?
Thanks for the great tutorial! I am running windos 7 64 and I can't seem to find the mods folder. Where exactly is it on your system so I can ceate it. It is not in my Elemental Install Folder, nor in my MyDocuments/Elemental\bla bla folder. Thanks! BTW:Love the effect
It is interesting to note that when you start a tactical battle then let it auto-resolve the combat log shows what the spell damages should be.

That is correct glucero. You can also get heros the old fashion way; have children. Each child you have will mature into a hero at the age of 18. Once they are of age, you can arrange them to be married to an offspring of another soverign. Once they are married, your female children are turned over to the husbands family, and your son's wife becomes a part of your empire. When your married children then procreate there is a % chance that their children (your grandchildren) will either
I have noticed my children can regen mana while in combat, but not sure what stat give it to them, and if you can somehow obtain this for your sovereign. I agree the current implementation of magic needs some work, but the good news is that the core system is good. Its just going to take some tweaking of spells / equipment, which can all be done in XML. Very soon you will see updates by Stardock and by modders to adjust the magic system to your liking. My soluti
The answer is it depends on the hero. For heroes that state you gain x/turn, where x is gilder, tech knowledge, ect, they do NOT need to be in a city. For heroes that add a % improvement (+20% boost to farming) they DO need to be in a city. They will only add that production to the city they are stationed in and the bonuses DO stack. My only queston is for heroes that have a bonus % to production. I
The amount of time you guys have put in the last few days shows your commitment to your customers and your games. I look forward to playing Elemental for years to come, thanks for all the hard work guys.... Now get some sleep.
I have noticed the same thing exo experienced. While my spells only hit for 10-13 in a tactical battle, if I auto complete the battle all my caster champ's (and Sov) are hitting for what they should (40-60).
It seems my children can regen their health and mana while in combat at +2 / turn. I checked and didnt notice this was coming from gear. Is this just an inherant trait in children? I can't seem to figure out how they got it, or how to give it to my other casters. Its a great tool. Side note: Even with 20+ INT my spells sure seem weak.
I have experienced this as well with all schools of magic and all shard types. This still isnt Day 0 code, so maybe it will be fixed in the next patch.
It appears what is causing the annoying camera movement is the camera now follows projectiles in flight. Is there an option to disable this in the XML?
I totally agree with this post. This didnt seem to be the case in Beta 4. I much prefer the way the tatical battle camera motion worked in the previous build. I find the new camera control to be rather anoying. Just a suggestion, still loving the game!
