Uninstalled the game via Win 7's add/remove programs....however there was no file folders of any description matching the ones in the OP for local content also needing deletion....possibly due to my having installed the last beta but never gotten around to starting any games/creating any saves? Hopefully all will still be well when I try to download the full version this weekend or something, otherwise if anybody can steer me torwards things still needing deletion I

Well, as an early pre-order person, I guess I'll be keeping an eye on the inbox come the latter part of next week. Here's hoping this works out well for everybody!
Hmm, well, as one of the people who were part of the early pre-order crowd on Elemental: WoM---I reckon this has a proper chance so long as this pace holds and eventual beta concerns raised by the playerbase are addressed with alacrity and tremendous vigor. 2012 should be an interesting year for gaming. On the AI front though, eh, probably not a bad idea at all to try to hit up Chris Park over at Arcen Games of AI WAR and currently A Valley Withou
I definitely favor WoM continuing to be improved as much as possible----as whatever problems are discerned with it are less likely to become an issue for FE come the launch of it. I'm tempted to say that if there is an issue with significant feature slip among patches though, that perhaps it'd be better to do more frequent, smaller patch releases knocking out a thing or so at a time. I mean, if a significant thing or so slips from a patch meant from the st
Stunning news. Hopefully all of the Elemental stable continues unabated, if not perhaps somehow bolstered---but wow, Gamestop of all companies!? I would never have guessed Impulse changed in this direction away from the "split" style like Gamersgate/Paradox and GoG/CDPROJECKT have going. Strange times ahead....not even sure how to process this.
It seems to have potential, but one can't help but wonder how things will shake down in the grand scheme of things in terms of having 3 teams actively working on the 3 games at the same time---and that's not even bringing the concept of an ACTUAL sequel or perhaps even "classic expansions for the neo-expansions" into the mix, particularly if any/all of the remainder strike a cord in terms of sales and such. It isn't a move I expected as an early pre-order person, but we
Wow, as another waaay out of the loop person, there's certainly been some bold changes in this past while----good stuff. An Elemental that largely stands alone is the ticket in these all too homogeneous times in the gaming industry. Adopt the "obvious" good basic ideas and then run like crazy in a new direction beyond the scope of those basics.
Quoting joasoze, reply 14Are there any news on which other sites than Steam will have this? Other DD outlets is bordering on being slightly diffuse Have you thought about pre-ordering from the game's web site directly? I haven't looked into it yet but they might have a option like Elemental did to buy the digital download And have a boxed copy shipped to you. You know, every time I watch the video for this game I think "
That was pretty well my wondering, as the aim on the moratorium was to get everything caught up on the same page with a buffer of time (couple years they cite) and focus that was still only functioning proper back on version 2.5 and 2.6 and so on. But even then, the trick may well be exactly when would the specific things Frogboy is eyeing would come into their own under 3.x and become something more than what they currently are under the old Python.
This is kinda random, and outta left field as I've been very much out of the loop here lately (come to me, Elemental capable PC in a month or so that I may start to help in beta land at last), but in regards to Python: Will the recently announced moratorium and aim at a "grand catchup" in terms of the whole lot of it factor into Elemental down the line going BACK to the notion of aiming for Python 3.x versus what I last recall in a journal post a bit back of scali
Well, the game has been bumped back to Nov 24th, but they do confirm support for Steam and other major DD outlets alongside plans for a physical product release in some months time. I just don't know that I'll have any money left for it, though if they'd announce what the price would be that would help in those hand wringing figurings. For me it is a crapshoot as to which I'd get it from, I do quite like to get things from Impulse, but should it wind up a case where I already ha
Just a head's up, DiveintoPython3 has been finished and is available online for free or purchase. Just the old www.diveintopython3.org and away ye go.
Nifty...though I do think it would be well served to wrangle a, perhaps weekly, "aggregate post" for all that everybody has discerned at that point in time for each given subject area. Surely a handy thing for the many people that won't have a chance to dig into this outside of the weekends so as to avoid clicking through perhaps tons of topics to get a feel for what's out there in the open.
Man, that is pretty jarring to go to the Impulse site now versus just the other day when I put in my Elemental pre-order! I'd definitely agree to at least some darker, earthier colors---quite liked the sleek black of the other day!
Somehow, I can just sense that 64-entity games will be a reality at some point down the line...probably in terms of the 64bit support for maps large enough to where it all jives. The only question is how long it takes to manifest after release... It will be oh so interesting how Elemental comes up shape up versus the likes of Dominions III!
Quoting getter77, reply 51I suspect I will go ahead and pre-order sometime this week afterall(just the digital though as my gaming funds are all but depleted and the extra $10 for shipping is painful)...though I doubt my current old clunker will be able to run it proper. (End of the year/start of next and a modern 64bit PC with 2 monitors at long last will be a grand old time...) But seeing as the game is designed
In for the long haul now as of a minute ago with the digital version.

Who wouldn't want a Roguelike guy in general helping to shape the game a
Been hoping for a Flatspace II sale for quite awhile now! Roguelike fans, this spacey game has some features that appeal.
I'm wondering if it will be remotely possible to mod a roguelike or some kind of tactical RPG in the game.
Whatever is easiest to do first then work my way up from there. Towards a Roguelike of sorts. It definitely has to be possible, I can feel it. I mean, just think of the Fall from Heaven 2 stuff that dovetailed into 133rd K.R.A.G! As something of a warmup, I plan to learn/muc
Great to see this. Between this one and the Python topic, now all we need is somebody savvy on the Audio side of things for the trifecta. Considering I'm starting from zero on all fronts, all things will hopefully be handy. (Well, I expect somebody will eventually also muck about and wrangle a way to get the game playable with a Wiimote or some other device)
We're all counting on the beta folk to help craft the game up proper---hang in there folks! Though, I suppose if they can't sleep at night due to nightmares and whatnot I would reckon Frogboy just so happens to keep some chloroform on his person for general contingencies that might arise...
You do get used to the fonts and graphics---eventually you just stop noticing. Granted, I play graphical Roguelikes and such, but still. [e digicons][/e] The gameplay was the main focus, and being indie, they went in the best direction they could wrangle at the time in terms of graphics. http://www.heroicfantasygames.com/index.htm Title says it all really. If you enjoy one or more aspects of the combat to Temple of Elemental Evil, Incursion, or the old Dark Sun games you'd do far worse than to NOT at least try out the demo to this even if ya don't feel a full game purchase right off the bat. Roll 'em up and slay things turn based as a team just like the old days. The game should be pretty stable(by all standards) but definitely report
Looking good! Though I do find myself especially curious as to how Phase 4 and beyond of the Impulse reactor will interweave with Elemental as things roll along....
