Fanboys and haters aside, Civ V and Elemental are really too different to compare. I hope that after a few expansions, both will become classics in their respective genres. Speculation, at this point, doesn't seem productive. Time will tell. I think people are really wanting something different, at this point. You see people kvetching about Civ V or Elemental and most of them are saying they are same old same old. I'd really like it if devs really took some chances in game design and

Teleport should be nurfed further. Even at 15 mana, it is still the best spell in the game by 1000 miles.
Increased mana regen would certainly help magic be more worthwhile. Anything to encourage me to do something besides make yet another unit of peasants with hammers would be most welcome! The magic changes in 1.08 plus the severe gold nerfing is encouraging me to use magic more and more. I think things are really moving in the right direction.
I think we also lose some of the more rational individuals in forums because they don't want to deal with a complete lack respect towards everyone else. What is the point of posting if twenty odd jackalopes are going to attempt to jump down your throat? This applies to both developer and community alike. It would be a true loss if yet another developer decided to take the silent approach, like almost every other game com

Very sad news. I wish everyone at Stardock the best!
I'm not sure if there's a trick to it, but I just kept going to the highest level places available (Level 6, maybe?), and it started the Master Quest sequence, after a few tries. The final battle is pretty funny, too!
Surly, you're starting to wear out your welcome here. Checksum checking is not DRM by any measure. I really don't want to lose access to this forum.
Well, surly, accusing a moderator of "weasel speak" would probably fall onto the "rude" side of things but I'm not a moderator so what do I know.
Well, sorry if I came off a bit harsh. I only post because I care. Your frankness is appreciated. I only hope that yourself and the other forum mods continue giving our frankness the same consideration.
Some kind of option to assign armies to suppress monster spawn in a given forested area would be greatly welcome! Call it "patrol" or something.

Any reasonable person going through the forums can easily find constructive criticism of the game and of Stardock. We draw the line at "haters".

It's only bad when consumers ripoff corporations. Its good old free market capitalism when corporations ripoff consumers. Ah ha. Is this REALLY the proper time to be grinding that particular axe? I'm going to write more about this but not only did we think v1.05 was ready for everyone but we felt v1.0 was too. That's the level of disconnect/poor judgment on our part we're talking about. If the game had come out in February, it would still have been a disastrous launch because lack of time wasn't the issue. It was blindness,

Stardock might as well have added a text mode interface, as visually appealing as that "cloth map" is!

Try copying it to another computer or changing the EXE, and you'll discover otherwise. It's marketing hokum. Their brilliant plan of forcing every
Yeah, it was a different era when MOO3 came out. Back then, if what was in the box was pure crap, it was game over. You suck as a dev. All the reviewers would maul you. Now, "indies" like Stardock can get away with selling $50 boxes that say "IOU: 1 finished game" and use the sales of those boxes to finish the game. It's a catch-22 for fans like me: Either support "indies" and reward that kind of behavior, or rage against them and contribute to big corporate domination of the games industry.<

While i'm disappointed that the patch isn't being released tonight, I really do appreciate that all of the Stardock devs are taking their time to make sure that when it is released, it is released right. It makes me hopeful for the future of the game! :)
