My preferred strategy in 4X games is to max research and tech, while making large production centers, and then cranking out powerful units once an AI declares war on me. I've yet to find an AI that can handle this. The point is, any military units you make early on are long-term economic benefit you could have had instead. The AI needs to factor in how well you're able to mobilize a powerful army from the ground up to crush their invasion. Not easy, I know, but

I'd say an 80. Probably not much more.

This has been happening for the longest time. It's definitely nothing new.

I would pay $10 to buy it again on steam so I never need to patch but not $40. Mike. If someone rejects a quest, can the quest be made to stay on the map to be done later? It doesn't seem possible with the current system.
OP's post makes sense. An awful lot of sense.
I figured that this was a fantasy world, so waterfalls are just... different here. [e digicons]>_>[/e]

Clearly not posted. Was there some promise that it would be posted by this time today?
Are you sure your GPU isn't working for just this game? Can you start up another game and play just fine? My real question is your graphics gard situation though. Do you have Nvidia Optimus? It's possible then that Elemental just isn't triggering your dedicated card to activate, which would be a game problem. I have ATI switchable graphics, so I just enable them when I play games.
Regarding the flexibility of Essence- I believe it's actually a problem. Essence bring more than the other resources, and has the flexibility issue, with little to no cost. I do believe that Essence should see a slight nerf in this regard.
The main reason Essence needs to be nerfed is not because it's flexible. It's because it's exponential - see my post below. [quote who="Beric01" reply="26" id="322706
The problem with essence is it's exponential in value, meaning increasing your essence results in huge gains for enchantments 1 essence = 1 "enchantment point" 2 essence = 4 "enchantment points" 3 essence = 9 "enchantment points" (with Pariden) Having enchantments based on the total amount of essence the city has is the cause, and at this point makes the scrying pool OP.

I gave in and added myself to the list of backers. I am now a victim of planetary annihilation.
Fully, agree; as a player who has been playing for quite a while, I actually thought the defend feature had been removed at one point. It's definitely not clear that pass=defend.

This is why I don't use antivirus software. It's a total pain. I tried such software back in the day, and continually got false alarms on games. I've never gotten a virus in my life, and I regularly scan my computer. Active antivirus software uses computing resources, and is a hassle. User error is 99% of all viruses. I simply know how to browse the web safely.
Quoting Madcatter, reply 1You need to find Wild Horses and build a stable over them. Yes I know but my point is if I can put heroes on horses without doing this then what is the point? Do they only apply to designed units this way?
Correct. Heroes can buy horses the instant you get the tech. Trained units need actual horse resources to be in stock.
The problem with the AI evaluations as I understand them now are, they don't take into account potential military, only active. My frequent strategy in such games is to focus on technology and production capacity/speed, such that a very small active military is needed, but that a small, highly advanced military can be trained at a moment's notice. This reduces maintenance costs, allows more buildings to be built, and also solves the issues of having a military that is constantly being
