@Star: I think it's really too early to tell exactly how things are going to be. Right now we're missing a crucial factor in not having any magic...which is such a big part of the game, it made it into the name! :) You're absolutely right in that the troops started armed, but getting the troops also took forever (dark elf wizards ftw), especially for the really advanced stuff. Not sure how things are going to play out in Elemental. We can only sketch guesses at this time. @sjwt:
EDIT: If you REALLY want a lot of points with a ridiculously low amount of work, add Elemental to a bunch of wishlists and email alerts. Hey, don't give away our secrets! That's where most of my points have come from so far, and that's also why I've stalled in terms of getting more. But I have a plan to change that soon
LOL. XD There's a couple sites I have yet to hit up too--just haven't g
Yeah, everything I've been doing can be duplicated easily by other people (with one exception, that is, but anyone who owns or runs their own business can do that too). TOWDrac has done the same thing I have as well. And for each picture I've submitted, there's probably 3 more that I couldn't or wouldn't submit for whatever reason. I happen to be in a location that offers interesting things to take pictures with since I live right near a lot of tourist traps (Mount Rushmore, Wall Drug, and so
I haven't been here for a while. But now that I'm back I can't fight the feeling that what started out to be to a certain degree a spritual successor to MoM turns out to be monolithic successor to Civ. I mean: There are so many more aspects to Elemental like a very detailed research tree, long development phases for army and building enhancements/improvements, Dynasty building and intermarrying that I'm kind of afraid that it will take awfully long unti
Part of it also depends upon who starts around you. I know I've started out with four or five heroes around me, and was able to hire 3 of them. That particular game I had eight or nine heroes running around. Gold doesn't seem to be too much of an issue for me--as I was wandering around, my supplies and gold would stack up relatively quick. On the other hand, some games I would have just one hero (other than my sovereign) and that would be it. So, part of it is random, and another part is savi
The one thing I think I mentioned in a blog post is that I wish the types of building were color coded on the cloth map. For example, food producing cities show up as green, administration buildings show up as grey, war buildings (barracks, siege foundries) show up as red, and so on. It would make it easier (on the cloth map at least) to show how you're zoning the city and easier to find buildings for building adjacent buildings which give a bonus--ie a granary (if it has to be placed next to
The scoring was changed on the pic--which I wasn't asking for. You can change it back, lawl, I'm really not that good of an artist. :P I know there are multiple people looking at the submissions which accounts for different ideas of what is a good submission and what is not. I know the "Stop Elemental" pic was at first 185 pts. and then modified down to 125 pts., the one that Drac submitted. (Yes, I do pay attention to these things--my first "Real Life" pics were taken with the 'picture of yo
Oh, I agree, Gor. It makes me dig in my heels a bit, to be honest. And I wasn't looking for ZOMG 150 points! I actually think the troll pic I submitted is over-rated. Just, you know, making fan art of something actually IN the game as opposed to a meme. Yeah. Not like upset or angry. Just disappointed. EDIT: Also, Gor, I like yer tshirt, hehe. :)
*rubs face* Ok, seriously? I've been drawing fan art for E:WoM for the contest. I don't draw often, but I'm putting my all into this, including carefully inking the drawings to the best of my ability. This is what's taking up my free time--what there is of it anymore since we're pretty busy here in the summer. I also don't want to complain or seem whiny. I got 20 points for this: http://maximilia.deviantart.com/#/d2s09vc Weez (and absolutely no offense to you dude
Howdy, y'all. I've created a place for all of us to put our Elemental art on Deviant Art. It's free to sign up and host pictures, so no worries about that. I thought it might be good for us to have one place to put fan art so if other like-minded individuals wanted to peruse what we could do, they could find it easily. Laters!

Also, quick question: I suck at drawing (though I plan on doing some fanart myself), so is it ok to commission art for the contest, like say, from a friend who isn't interested themselves but are willing to help me out? yes this is fine so long as your friend is ok with it.<

It's not just you. I have this same exact bug. I theorize, though I don't know for sure, that it's crashing because you're about to have a kid. I've gotten married every time, and it's always a little while after the marriage.
Athos as a faction name (And an "evil" one as such) may be offensive to some. Specifically there is a place in Greece called mount Athos which is home to the eastern orthodox relegion's most revered monasteries and monks. I think that some would find such connotations offensive.
You know, I never even heard of that, and I do consider myself to be relatively well read. I don't think the vast majority of people will even know about Mount Athos, much l
Here is a graphics glitch I found when starting next to a borked river. I'm not sure if the river had anything to do with it. http://maximilia.net/Graphicsglitch.rtf = debug.err http://maximilia.net/DxDiag.txt = dxdiag http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyJXnXYbXNc = video of the graphics glitch
Hey y'all. I was mildly chastised for not listing bugs I found individually, so I thought I'd do one better--post a video where possible of bugs I was able to reproduce. This first one has been mentioned, but it actually has two gameplay bugs in it. Building multiple palaces--I think one per empire is supposed to be the max and building multiple types of buildings--they all complete at the same time as the first building. I would love to post crash bugs and suchlike, but other th
The Sovereign heals when residing in one of your cities too. Then, it's two hp/turn after the first turn he entered the city.
Quoting Bylak2, reply 8 I think it's a little premature to talk about army sizes, seeing as the combat in game at the moment . . . well, the developers have said it themselves in how many places now? It's not fun I agree, we are only in the initial build. Keep suggestion on gameplay for later
There's only so much I can say on the performance issues for suggestions, like.. "
*sigh* So it will be a long time before we see the tactical battles. Oh well he (Frogboy) said it wasn't supposed to be fun.
I think it's better to place the shards randomly and then have them affect their surroundings in world gen. So I water shard might create a bunch of springs in a desert and spawn a river, earth could create interesting geography or minerals, etc.
Either/or would work, I think.
As before, instead of making multiple threads, here are my suggestions for today: 1.) When leveling up, let us choose our stats. 2.) When a full set of armor is researched, iron forged for example, and it is available to you, give a button to equip a solder with the entire set rather than going one by one in the troop creation screen. 3.) Give us some way to either store, sell, trade, or break down items of power we find. Perhaps in the palace put a roya
Again, it's just easier for me to do this in one big post. I've tried reading all the threads so as not to repeat known issues other than to verify that they do exist. Non-Unique Bugs 1.) CTD from the alt-tab bug 2.) 3 AI started less than 5 squares from me. 3.) Fountain of the Great Dragon text reads in part, "...sparkling water cascades from it's...". There should be no apostrophe in its. <span style="color: #ff000
From what I gather, you can't build on fertile ground. You'll want to build right next to it, and then build a farm on it to make food.
And I thought of another one: 11.) Have a "city screen" in the Kingdom statistics page, to look at a thumbnail of each city: production, population, gold, etc.
