Thanks for taking the time to answer Primal. Seems like a lot to take in so I'm going to try reading the user guide.

OK I am considering using this mod but I'm trying to wrap my head around the fundamental things that it changes or adds. Specifically, does it give cheats to the AI or simply improve their performance/strategy? Does it add a lot of abilities to the current crop or are they more replacements for the ones that are there? Balance-wise, what is the mod aiming to achieve? Are the AIs fully capable of us
Thanks Primal.
What was the patch that went out today?
Well it's great that we've figured this out. Thanks to you guys for enlightening me. Now hopefully the devs provide a fix.
Playing with the 2.0 release and I had combat stop on the Wildling Hermit's turn. One of his abilities seems to be the cause but I can't tell which one. Only that it isn't Coalstones or Summon Wildling. I was forced to auto-resolve the rest of the battle.
So are the Devs going to continue to ignore the horrible performance of The Dead as a faction? I'm not trying to sound angry or confrontational but this has never seemed to have gotten an official answer no matter how many times it has been asked. If the official stance is that the Dead faction are performing as intended then I will accept that and just never think about using them. An answer of some kind would be much appreciated though
I'm seconding the request for some work on the Dead AI. Especially as it is a purchased DLC, I really think some effort should be made to have it be competitive in the base game. I'm not opposed to mods, but I really just want fixes for the Dead. The mods suggested seem to add other things that I'm not that interested in having right now.
This 2.0 update looks awesome. I really only have one complaint. Can we find a better name for the new mechanic than 'stamina'? In general, stamina doesn't build up during a battle, it depletes. So gaining stamina as you do things seems like a weird concept. I'd prefer it be called something along the lines of Battle Readiness. That makes sense as something that can dynamically change during battle. May
The dead AI plays very poorily because I think the dev team is feeling averse to making the AI build town halls etc. I killed them when they needed that one death shard and they couldn't build the town hall. The difference was one more radius would have given them a death shard into their radius. And then that would have enabled morrigan's call for them, there was two death shards reachable if it built townhalls and other upgrades.<b
Hmmm I see. I actually only got the dragon because a clambercoil was sitting right on the road between two of my major cities. It was either kill it or go the long way around each time. Once I saw that it was sitting on a lair, I decided to put some time into civics. Thanks for the reply. I got it just in time to stop a second clambercoil from eating my conclave town. It wiped out my strongest army and 2 heroes. [e digicons]:([/e]
OK in my current game as Gilden, I have just recruited a Storm Dragon. Does that kind of mean that I win? Is there anything that could actually challenge my army with a freaking dragon in it? I've already killed a Clambercoil with no losses. Compared to my last 2 dragon fights...that's a huge improvement. Dragons suck!!! (When you're the one fighting them anyway).
OK. This has been going on for a while from other folks' reports, but I have finally proven it for myself. The Dead faction is pretty much useless to itself as an AI player. For two games I put the dead in. I was playing with a total of 7 players. 4 empire and 3 kingdoms. I just put the Dead in as a balance tipper to make it harder for myself as a kingdom player. They just don't expand!! What is actually going
Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. Finally started the books after realizing how much the tv series diverges in the latest season.

By that time I will be really far behind judging by the rate of AI expansion since the new patch. All AI are set to challenging in my game. It looks like I will need to wipe Pariden out or come very close to it.
I kinda wish that was noted somewhere obvious in the game becaus

So I started a new game on a large map with 7 opponents (I'm playing Capitar). It's still very early in the game but I have suddenly come upon a serious dilemma. Pariden. They started relatively close to me. The issue is that I have no room to breathe. I founded my city and sent out a scout to get a lay of the surrounding lands. All of a sudden, arcane monoliths start popping up left and right, hogging all the good resources. I declared wa
I think I had a corrupted save. Some other weird stuff started happening as well. Like I would queue one improvement to build and it would display the same icon 4 times like I was building four of the same thing. Also took a city and began to build improvements on it and next turn the queue was empty. So I finally quit that game, deleted the saves and ran a Steam cache verify. It found one file that was not validating and redownloaded it. Currentl
Like the title says, I was playing a 1.7 game and suddenly there was a huge crash sound like when you lose a resource. Except that my newest town was suddenly completely wiped out. To give some background: A few turns earlier, it was taken by an enemy. I immediately took it back then moved my army out to deal with enemy forces attacking my outposts. That's when I heard the crash and lost the city but I got no kind of alert or warning of what was happening. I am assu
No problem. Did it produce any kind of debug file or log? The devs said they fixed 80% of the known crash bugs but I guess something slipped through or a new one may have been created. Try a Steam verify of the game file cache to see if any files may have been corrupted also.
Did you start a new game? I haven't been crashing at all. I started a brand new game and I'm at over 300 turns.
Ha yeah, it can be quite strong at the beginning of the game. But nothing can really win against attrition. You might have to remove an monster army by sacrificing a several of your cannon fodder armies. But if it is singlehandlely protecting you against AI armies it might be to your benefit to let it hang around for abit before you kill him off. Focus in whittling it down through superior numbers until that d
It very well might be monsters. I triggered a dark sorcerer, that is lurking near my capital. He may have acted as a barrier to entry for AI armies. My problem now is how to get rid of him. He one-shots me whenever I try to fight him. [e digicons]8(|[/e]
I've started my second game since the 1.7 release. The first one ended prematurely when my starting army got wiped by a Ravenous Harridan spider thingy without my having founded a city. [e digicons]:([/e] So far the AI are all pretty far ahead of me and I'm having a tough time since I started in an area that wasn't exactly bursting with decent settlement areas. Anyway, I have had several AI declare war on me and then after some
