I just felt that the majority of the things they did change, are what a liked about the original game and that's why for me personally it didn't feel right. I liked being able to customise the inventory of troops and make grenadiers, demolitions experts, heavy weapons guys etc without class restriction. If my aut
Man... I tried to like Xcom: EU but I really just couldn't get into it. It seems too 'dumbed down' for me, and some of the ideas presented don't make sense.... using satellites to monitor alien activity for example.. the Aliens have air superiority, they have the high ground so it seems silly to rely on something so unprotected which they could easily destroy. Also, being limited to one base and one team/skyrang

Personally I'd say there is no reason to play Unknown first. The main story in Within is exactly the same as Unknown. The major differences is that there are additional missions and a side story revolving around a terrorist group of alien sympathizers. From a gameplay standpoint, Within has several new enemies and two new branches of technology for you to research and develop which revolve around the alien substance MELD. MELD is not present in Unknown and so you ca

I saw the anti-Steam arguments on the boards for Endless Space. That game still did extremely well (had a lot of free updates and DLC plus an expansion pack), and now those guys are producing Endless Legend and Dungeons of the Endless. The reality is just that...reality. There currently is no better way with the same benefits. Steam is also very fair to developers and Frogboy isn't the first dev I've heard say the same. &nbsp

I guess I'd have to be an evil evil man when conquering the world. I suppose there could be a mechanic to say that the populations could transfer back to your cities... of course the slave trait would have to be adjusted to give a larger production bonus for larger cities, indicating slave labor. <br

Well there is no way I'm pre-purchasing to get answers to questions about the game which would normally be used to determine if I want to buy the game in the first place. Seems rather pointless to me.

How does the whole 'Founders Vault' thing work? Will I have to pre-purchase the game to get answers to questions about it? [e digicons]:\[/e]
I'd say unrest as implemented is pretty unfun. Maybe necessary to prevent overexpansion, but still unfun. Makes it where there is little point in taking cities instead of razing them
There are ways to mitigate it so I don't think it's all that unfun. You don't want the player having dozens of cities and a hard cap would be even more unfun.
Bandits not fun? How did that happen? Was looking forward to this...
I'm a little confused by that as well. Hmm... In any case, I'd still like it if bandits spawned maybe based on the prosperity of a city? It would make sense for bandit groups to be attracted by the prospect of richer targets. Possibly have it so that if you leave lingering bandits in your territory,

The part that really stands out to me as looking dated would have to be the character facial textures when using the unit design feature. The faces of the male and female models look really unattractive. This is especially noticeable when selecting a pose for the unit portraits. The way some of the armor is drawn is a bit off-putting as well. I can see that contributing to the dated feeling in the future. To be a bit more specific. The bulkiness of the chainmail armor g

Wow! Now he has NPCs creating their own missions and others accepting and carrying them out. I think he is pretty close to done with the basic framework of the game. He just needs to expand the content and work on the procedural ship stuff. After that, I THINK it is mostly just work on the interface and basic polish. Well I say all that as if it is nothing big...it's actually still quite a lot of work.

Considering what's in this patch, I'd gladly pay the same money for it as for the Leader Pack DLC. Great work so far! Looking forward to this one a lot! So much so that I'm scrapping my current game and waiting for this to come out before I start a new one.
This is the first DLC where I felt I wanted my $5 refunded. I bought all the others, and was fine with that because they all brought something new to the game and each $5 helped support the development of future product. However, if your internal numbers for this DLC could reflect buyer's remorse, I don't think you'd like the number it returned.
This is what I'm thinking as well.<

I'm a bit bummed out and disappointed myself at the new DLC offerings. And I don't even play custom sovereigns yet. I want to keep buying more stuff and supporting Stardock with this game but I cannot justify the Leader Pack as a full price purchase. Maybe if it was sold at $1.99 I'd just get it for completions sake. *sigh* What are you doing Stardock?
