[quote who="landisaurus" reply="1" id="2293234"]I'm pretty sure mods are covered under the "fair-use" provided nobody directly profits from it. So the people who made the game that was modded can't directly endorse the creation of the mod, making it seem like they want to gain sales as a direct result of the mod. [quote who="pigeonpigeon" reply="7" id="2293205"]No, it was a complete accident while screwing around with magnetrons Ah, so you're right, but you're still wrong where it matters. This Percy Spencer fellow was testing a magnetron developed to be used on radars; testing it to verify that it functioned as expected. He was in no way trying to figure out what other esoteric uses microwaves have - he was building and testing magnetrons for a very specific purpose, and happened to notice

Stardock doesn't have a cent of your money, unless you're trying to argue something else. Stardock didn't put a hold on your money, your bank did. HINT: join a credit Union, they're much nicer about these things...
[quote who="Leo in WI" reply="24" id="2292429"] I kind of agree, but the microwave oven was more of an accidental product than a tech. They were researching microwaves and found out what else they do, not researching microwaves and then discovered integrated circuits. We looked for a style that wasn't done before. Everyone seems to be pushing the WoW look nowadays, and while I LOVE that bold, characterized style, we knew that style has been WELL covered. Instead we took inspiration from the realistic shapes, soft washes and graphical penwo

This Argument is silly, because I clearly won the contest!
I found a question to ask that hasn't been asked! I would like to know about The legal status of mods developed by us, evaluated and distributed by you guys. Do they then become property of stardock? A simple clarification of the terms for the modding community would be darn helpful.

You'll see it as a "pending" transaction, and while most banks lower the balance to reflect any "pending" deductions, it will not/cannot over draft as a result because the money is never removed. It stays pending for however long the bank leaves those in pending state (no longer than 30 days) then it

The money is returned after 1 to 30 days depending on the banks policy, unless of course the merchant clears the charge i.e. Stardock release the game tomorrow and charges for it. Wow, that line is either comedic genius, or the result of sleep deprevation, and I can't tell which. Just in case, it's rocket scientist, and cactus grow all over the place, we've got prickly pears in our frigging yard, even in this drought we still measure yearly rain in the inches. Nothing but forum rules and common sense prevents you from posting every five minutes saying "getdate(); (gettime();+5)" Well allowing massive repeated guessing effectively takes away the victory from an individual which has guessed once who would have guessed closer to the actual release date. With allowing only on
