I'm sorry to derail somewhat, truly I am, but Raven I wanted to ask: were you working as a GM or a Councilor with OSI (I believe Sages, by that point, had been removed)? I gave UO the best 7-8 years of my life, and it always grabs my attention
I started as a volunteer "Councilor/Seer" on the Great Lakes shard when UO was still ran by OSI Pre-EA owned. Ahh, the good'ol days. :) . I think the best time I ever had as a GM though
That is the question and the pun that should get me beaten with a large club.
Great pun...LoL.
Completely Awesome!!!! Must Have....Now!!! :)
Very Sweet :) So, If I save all the files I have now in a separate location, and then I take all the new files and drop them in the right places, it will work as a whole right? So I'll get all the features of Beta 2, 2-A, and 2-B? :P J/K lol DON'T try that people, you'll just end up having to re-download the Beta again. (Been doing some Mod testing lol) To Modders: It might be a good idea to back-up the files you're working on though.
Now THIS...This is probably the best idea I've ever seen on any forums listing anywhere. It's imaginative, Intuitive, plays exceptionally well with that perfect balance between fun game play with depth yet without micromanagement. I love it. It's Amazing!! It's..... ..... me just messing with ya ;) Thar be Gremlins in the system me thinks!!!
Agreed. Maybe just a little tab on the upcoming "Hud" next to the name of the city have a little place to click that allows the player to re-name the city. There's a bunch of "little options" like that from Gal Civ 2 that need to be immediately imported over to Elemental I think. That's just me though.
I do like the idea of logistics affecting the size of armies. I also like the idea of being able to go beyond the nominal limits of logistics (Napoleon discovered this the hard way). So for instance, you could have have "Expert Logistics" provide a nominal army unit size of say 8. Every level above that costs N gold per turn where N is how many beyond 8 you have. So if you have enough gold, you can have a bigger army but
The movie "Splice" is already out?
Yeap. It's pretty decent too. It's kinda a rip off of "Species" though. The storyline isn't "ground-breaking" by any means, but I was reasonably entertained. It's got a few "Hot" scenes as well. It's worth a watch.
Since troops come from population, which costs food, in that sense troops already cost food. Regarding logistics, however it's done, how's about adding a 'logistics' skill possibility for champions, allowing 1 (or very rarely 2 for an exceptional champ) extra unit for armies led by that champion?
That's a pretty good idea. In that case I would say add a whole new "Skill" or "Stat" (which is actually very easy to
Fixed a couple of broken lists (probably main responsible of IE 7 errors), deleted some images (some stuff had something to do too) and updated some content (added The Shop too, which I forgot to mention last time... yeah, shame on me; next: dungeons). Seems fine in IE 7, Firefox, Chrome, Safari... haven't tried IE 8 so maybe it's totally broken there. (will check it at home) If someone seems something broken, a section

Safari 4 ok Firefox 2 ok Firefox 3.59 ok Opera 9.63 ok Chrome ok IE 8 (mine at home) ok IE 7 (office) fail IE 6... to hell with IE 6!! I never user the compatibility thingy in IE 8 but it'd not be the first time it causes trouble to user
Well if you're a huge magic fan I guess you might enjoy it, but these kinds of 'collectible tactics' games have been around for a while, it doesn't sound as though there is really anything new here, other than the license being used. Lets just say that if you want a MtG fix, this probably isn't it, but you may like it anyway. MtG has some online leagues anyway don't they?
Indeed they do.
So, is the game play sort of like Etherlords II, http://www.impulsedriven.com/eld2 ? Free roaming overworld and then go to an arena area for combat? Or is it battle in the overworld? The mention of micro-transactions scares me at once. So, what is the real price of the game? Can I just buy all the stuff at once, or do you become qualified to buy a certain pack after you have achieved goals?
The "Real" pri
I'm reasonably sure it's only working that way "right now" and will be fixed in the next update (maybe even the one after that). Definitely though, as you say, it's too high and needs some work, I agree. Most likely that would be a type of "default unit" that you can only build one of at a time instead of companies or platoons. Note: Thanks for using the Correct Category in the heading, my friend. Makes my job a lot easier. [e digicons]1*[/e]
Pretty good idea. I like it. Also, Thanks for using the Correct Category in the heading, King. Good looking out. [e digicons]1*[/e]

All the text that should wrap down to the next sentence just stops. There are a "few" lines however that trail off outside of the border of our post
Then new lay-out is Extremely well done my friend :) . For some reason on some things the right edge of text is getting cut off though. Might wanna check that out.
I like the OP... how about having control of a shard and an essence cost? you have to pay for the new skill in essence... maybe even build a special building over the shard that can be captured and make you lose that magic skill? I'm assuming eventually it won't be possible to take all the research books and be viable... master of magic was fun for that reason (no archmages of everything without cheating, pick one skill to master or a few ca
I'm pretty sure it will too, which is why I brought this up. I'm thinking when it comes time to refine Sov Creation we'll see the cost of Books go up some, if not go up a Good Bit. Plus finding those Rare spells that won't be on every map. But also notice if you make a Sov totally geared toward being the "Ul
I was thinking about some of my more favorite "Arch Type" of Wizards and Warlocks and you name it..etc etc. The kind that want to be "ALL POWERFUL" and know Everything There Is To Know. You know, the type that's usually the bad guy that it's all.. "I Shall Acquire ALL the Magical Power in the Universe!! MWhahahahah!!"... Then I started thinking about Sov Customization and how much it would cost to buy All the Spell Books so you "could" learn Every Spell in the game. That eats
I'm inclined to have some sort of logistical system which limits the number of UNITS (not people) in an army. So level 1 would allow 4 units (a unit could be 50 guys still). Level 2 would be 6 units Level 3 would be 8 units Level 4 would be 10 units and then you'd have refined logistics which would add +1 every time. This way, players who want to go the single big a
I just found This on Gamespot. It's called "Magic: The Gathering - Tactics" . I haven't played "Magic:The Gathering" in about 5 or 6 years. Mostly because I couldn't find the time to get together with friends when compared to all of life's other demands. If they do this game right it could be really, Really awesome. It sounds like you build a Wizard and level him up th
Thank you Tormy. I knew you'd end up reading it my friend. It means a lot that you did. Honestly though, the more I read it and re-read it the more I'm just thinking it doesn't belong here on the forums. That's why I never brought it up all this time because I knew I'd get all "MySpace'y" with it and start unloading all kinds of crap everywhere and making other people feel bad and all that...and I never intended to do that. That's what we have "MySpace" for.

Unless you were one of the first people to ever play Pen & Paper D&D with Gary Gygax though, I doubt you invented it either, my friend :P . Then again, maybe you were or did invent it, I don't know for sure. :) Most likely though you were just the first person to use it around here or in the thread somewhe
That's nice, but not at all relevant to your original point, which had to do with the UI enabling you to do the same thing in different ways. Having several ways of healing yourself has nothing to do with UI design, but gameplay design. Having several ways of applying a specific healing method (like several ways to toggle rest) is a UI design issue, but you don't talk about that.
You're right. Honestly,
