Oh it's been a a handful of years now, but when I was at college, I worked at a deli in a grocery store. The manager always knew when someone came snooping around. I am pretty sure he got a call which was a heads up. All I can say if you walk up to a deli counter and they give you a blank look as to how long that food has been out, don't buy it! Heh, I take it you work for the health department?
Ahh, no. They've been screwing me over for about a year now while waiting for me to die.
Didn't you guys get the memo? The 0-Day patch turns Elemental into a FPS-RPG-MMO with some TBS aspects thrown in for fun. :P In all seriousness though, yes that's for the multiplayer. I'm hoping they give some kind of slider when setting up the game for how long the turns should be. 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes etc etc. I can imagine on huge epic maps the end game turns could take longer than 60 seconds.
Guilds Dungeons Never saw them in the Beta's but, hoped they would be in final version, I mean what's adventuring without dungeons? This would also make Elemental a little closer to Birthright, where champions when adventuring on maps different from the strategic map. Could tactical maps be used for creating Dungeons and be linked with a quest location with the editing tools?
I think we can do that, yes. I know it's something I'll be
I'm not sure I'll feel ok buying the game without some form of copy protection. Would it be possible for Stardock to send someone around to my house whenever I install it to amputate my left hand and punch me in the vulnerables a bit so I can get that authentic DRM feeling? If you could hold my first born hostage until I decide I never want to play the game again it would probably help too.
They have a guy on pay-role who d
Even if the AI is "stellar" (and it should be pretty good given Gal Civ) it will probably be worse than Civ IV's, which will be in turn worse than Civ III, and so on. Don't expect it to be kicking your ass once you have a firm grip of the game itself.
This is true, of course. That's where the cool "randomization" factor of Elemental comes in though. There are some super rare items or quests that you won't see every time yo
I definitely like the pic in reply number 3, excellent work Uvah.
I have got different impression and I had beta from beta 1. It was always "oh, Stardock internal build is several iterations ahead of what you have, so do not judge the game, just check for the bugs" - kind of thing. Notice, that we are still in the same state and gold version is supposed to be very different with smart AI, interesting gameplay and so on, i.e. with the things that we do not have and thus can not help them with gameplay.
Thanks for the constructive (almost flame free) and very encouraging responses - especially from Frogboy. The only thing that confuses me a bit is that the "pre-order" is billed as a chance to get into the game development process and have a say in what the final product looks like ... but the beta seems to lag too far behind the quickly advancing internal version, so the beta people only get a chance to comment on a very narrow range of pretty tec
We’re going to be making the game available early to everyone who beta tested Elemental (planned day is either Sunday night or Monday morning) and anyone who pre-orders prior to Monday morning will get the game on Monday rather than having to wait until Tuesday.
I'm sorry, but no. The list would quickly get out of control if I included the entire credits for each mod. I don't want to be a jerk, but large mods could easily have a lot of people involved. If you would like, you could whip up a little credits pic sort of thing that lists everyone's names, and I could link that instead of listing your name. Example "Created by: Team Dragonlance" Again, I'm sorry, but it would just get out of h
So starting in October, what we will do is make archival DVD editions of our games starting with Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition and Elemental. Roughly every year or so, if there have been updates, we’ll create a new archival version of the game that people can have sent to them (it’ll just be a DVD).
Woohooo :). That's the best news I heard All Day (ok so it's been a slow day lol). That IS Awesome though, thanks Frogbo

I see the Australian major political parties unwilling to do even a little bit to limit damaging climate deterioration (I don't believe that
