I'm sure someone will eventually mod in the MoM races, units, spells, etc. (or maybe that's wishful thinking!).
Oh I'm quite sure as well....Quite Sure. ;)
RavenX
They could be saving "Non human" playable Races for an expansion.
If these Monks are Catholic then it should definitely stay as a "Evil" name... J/K J/K No offense, only a joke, a crude one, but a joke it was. In my personal opinion, organized religion is the downfall of Human Kind. Those are just my thoughts though.
I was about to say...."Wait a minute, that one pic is definitely War Craft 2"..LoL. What game is the first pic from though?
Agreed Tormy-. MoM will never "Die". It will always be recognized by us old schoolers as a Classic and Legend in it's time. It's very true that AoW2 was a good successor, just as Elemental will be a even greater successor to both Mom and AoW2. I do believe Elemental will be the new King of this genre, but people will never forget the classic that started it all.
Indeed I do have a old copy of 3dsMax I used to use at work years ago. It might need an update to be compatible (it's a few years old) but I do own it Legally. I've done plenty of custom skins for many other games. Mostly I'm a skinner, not a modeler. I was reading the thread where the one guy made that Excellent Baradur model and it hit me "I wonder if this guy knows he'll be able to custom build his own buildings with the in game editors?". I know somewhere I saw a pic or a vid of s
So far everything I've read that mentions the editors says you'll be able to edit basically the entire game with the editors that ship with it. When I say everything I mean Everything that I've seen them mention. Maps, Races, Buildings, Spells, Units. So far for the Dragonlance Mod I have in mind I can think of some Races right off the bat that will need to be added which will involve new models. Though, at this point not having played the Beta and so far away from launch I can't
You should also be able to build a Spy or some kind of Stealth unit that can march into enemy lands undetected. Not a big unit of course, more like one guy who can sneak around. A invisibility spell would be nice for sneaking a unit through enemy land as well. Hopefully it will work that way and Not just give the unit a defense modifier in combat, though it should do that too. Just stepping into another sovereign's land shouldn't trigger a war though, no. You should have the option th
After watching the videos of the Beta on YouTube I can say with all certainty that Elemental has a Killer soundtrack. I liked the music a lot. Quite soothing in fact. I'm sure the battle music isn't as soothing as the map music. IF I was still into meditation I would fire up the game and turn my monitor off just to here it while I zoned out.
Great Videos. I can't wait to get into the beta action. Now I just have to make sure I can afford the game before the end of September...
Excelent videos. Someone post a link to the 3 o'clock demonstration he kept talking about [e digicons]:P[/e] I want to see a spell go off [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the answers guys. Guess I'm heading down to the bank to put money in so I can spend it on-line this week.
We can still get in on the Beta if we Pre-order at Gamestop with cash, right? Or is it something that has to be done online with a credit card?
Looks completely EPIC!!! Can't wait. Go Stardock Go!!!!
Awesome indeed.
Of course "Evil Magical Empires" should have cults!!! Great idea :)
Honestly, I could see cannons. No muskets though. Even cannons though, in this game anyway, should be fired by concentrated magic and limited to ships and fortifications.
On a more work demanding side it would be so cool for example for some time to have big battle sites marked with some reamins and for example some undead raising from it , making the place haunted.
EXCELENT Idea. Not to beat a drum here, but, on one of the Total War games on the Map after a Great battle there would some times be a small marker saying who fought there and who won. Having undead rise from the battlefield would be a killer ide
Good idea Demi, and nice Diagram CMonkey. Personally though. If I'm a huge Empire and I'm busy smashing a enemy and country C sticks it's nose in to ask me to stop, country C jumps to the top of my list of "Who to whipe out next". [e digicons][/e] Then again....I'm Evil [e digicons]}:)[/e]
If we're going to be ferrying men by sea then we should deffintely have the chance to encounter sea monsters and maybe even recruit one or two. Some options would be. Sea Dragons Mer-Men/Mer-Maids Sea Elves Kraken Giant Sharks, Giant Crabs, Giants Snakes, Giant Electric Eels, assoted sea life etc etc Also a handy spell to allow breathing under water so you can explore under water cities/caves/shipwrecks and other structures for lost magics.
The offspring of your brother/sister marriage has inherited Awesome Godly magical power and can lay waste to all the land. Unfortunately he/she has 6 fingers on his right hand and because of this has a 94% chance of spell failure :P
If they watch all those movies broken down into 1 hour chunks and get inspired we're going to end up with a game that's 1% Conan, 1% Willow, 1% Dark Crystal, and 97% LotR....LoL. Keep the movies random to spread out the inspiring ideas ;)
This could be a great idea. Though, I can see a few flaws in it, some of which you already addressed. This algorithm would have to be coupled with quite a few more so it's not guaranteed to happen every other time. Used in conjunction with other plans though this would be great. I used to love playing Rome: Total War as the Romans. Eventually though I stopped playing as the Romans because always in late game the Empire would go into civil war. It was a scripted event to follow history
I liked how in MoM if you had Wizard towers in two cities, and your main Wizard got killed/defeated in one of them, he would warp to the other one, still alive. @psychoravin: oops, did I say friend? I meant to say FIEND :P lol j/k
Great looking screen there.
