I'd like to see some emergent quests. If your city is in the process of deforesting it's surroundings displaced animals might begin preying upon the defenseless townfolk. You could choose to commit resources to hunting and destroying the starving beasts (those wolf pelts are so warm in the winter, and that stuffed bear would look impressive stuffed in the imperial musuem), or ignore the problem, knowing the animals would eventually starve, all the while suffering various morale and production
