Custom games should be split in to ranked and unranked. This can be differentiated in however way makes sense, such as leaving "custom game" option as is and adding a "ladder game" option. However, functionally they are identical other than two things: the fact one tracks stats for ladder participation while the other does not, and that the ladder mode is only official gameplay (no game modifications (not necessarily inclusinve of UI mods, if such thing ever happens)) and game set

Your first point is NOT an issue. Oh add the feature if you want, but not on some pretense that there is an issue with premades. Your solution to that problem lies in problem #4. Correct stat tracking, more robust stat tracking, and a proper ladder system that ranks people depending on the ranks of the other individuals they won or lost against, not just based on wins and losses. And create an easy to see, in game lobby mechanic to see the relative "skill" of op

I really think people would be surprised at how little communication is needed in premade teams - which supports my stance that it boils down to the players. Ie: it is you that makes your team suck, not the enemy. In our premade games, we occassionally tell each other what can obviously be seen - such as "hey, watch out, somebody is moving to come in from behind." Most of the time, we do good because being premade makes us focus more on playing AS A TEAM. The fact we

Agree on both. Although I think the portraits should be movable. Bottom right is way out of the realm of focus for me, and would probably be much worse for those at even higher resolutions. If they do it, it needs to be customizable. I also cannot fathom why they made the keys for camera control unmappable. This seems completely arbitrary, frankly. Nameplates on the map above all demigods - enemy and friendly a like is needed as well. Simply put,

This is a dumb idea based on the reasoning given. Ignoring the reasoning, it would be a good, fun idea, however. There is reason people like random choices, afterall. But the reasoning given...so annoying. So many people are trying to go out of their way to make the game less challening, when instead they should spend their mental effort on how to flush out the weaknesses that potentially come with random teammates. All people need is more information to make a

"The demigod played was:" is enough, and "as an" in that context is incorrect grammar (and unnecessary in this case anyway). Make the part that displays in the info smaller. No need for such a giant picture, especially if that picture appears every time. Get rid of it or make it icon sized. Don't forget, as fun as applications are, you are servicing facebook - so make it fit in :) Kudos for going with it, neat idea :)

Admit you're too much of a wuss to play against a potentially good team - them being premade has zero effect on whether or not the team can play good or bad. You simply use it as an excuse instead of admitting that you and your own team didn't work together well enough. Premade's do not make your team worse. You make your team worse.

Custom games are currently the most popular game play method. Regardless of that, farming or pick and choosing is just as likely and just as easy in matchmade games, such as the Pantheon. You do not have to restrict what counts toward the ladder, it just need to be applied accurately. As is, the only tangible thing being applied to ladder ranking seems to be number of games played along with win ratio. A normal ladder would take in to account the ranks of the people

Some farsighted dev might have thought ahead that since all the other generals on a team will buy Bishops, Sedna with Wind 2 could get stackable and improved priest minions on the cheap. It could be an intentional Sedna perk, though probably an unnecessary one considering how good Sedna is anyways. <br /

[quote who="_Shadow" reply="21" id="2284203"] ChromeWeasel You can make a good argument for Regulus being overpowered due to the range of Snipe. If you cut the range of that power down to 30 at rank 1 and let it increase 10 units per rank it would be fine. It's also fine if you're only playing against one Regulus at a time. But as it stands today Snipe becomes unbalanced on most maps with more than one Regulus at once. <br /

[quote who="Krazikarl" reply="4" id="2284288"] Players start with 100 dps and 2k health. In this state, Player 1 would need 20 hits to kill Player 2 (assuming no HP regen). Now say, Player 1 decides to get 20 more dps, player 2 decides to get 500 more health. It takes Player 1 21 hits to kill Player 2, while it still takes Player 2 only 20 hits. This means that the HP purchase was a better purchase. This is the fundamental problem,

HP is always the correct choice because it is innately needed for survival. By decreasing the amounts of HP on items, you do not solve any problem, you simply shuffle. In general, there are only two modes of HP items: useful and useless. They are useful when they enable you to live long enough to run away or to kill somebody. They are useless when they do not. This is a generalized statement, as there are always edge cases (ie, the "sacrifice" which s

Buy gadgets if you want towers to live. Replacing towers defeats the purpose of...well...destroying them. No point in destroying them if they are going to be near instantly replaced. No point of defending them for the same reason. Of course, if you instead heal your towers, you actually accomplish what you want, which is tower staying power. The real problem is that towers simply stop mattering the longer the game goes on, especially with manuevers such as port

It's all a conspiracy. You guys, who are clearly staticians, mathematicians, software engineers, computer scientists, and all manner of other relevant occupations, clearly have the experience to say the numbers are fudged or even "off a bit." It is clear that your superior reasoning and logic chain, which is so elaborate that you cannot even put it down on paper for us to analyze, is much more reasonable than simple programatic functionality to track these things. <

There is no reason they would have to be completely like normal minions. One does not follow from the other. The towers should die. Right now, IF a rook does get the towers up, attacking the rook doesn't matter. If you kill him, he will be back before you can remove the farm (which you need to do if it was well placed). If you can't kill him, well, obviously the farm is going to suck what with not being able to get it all down. If you can push him back, you

If you think Demigod is "lower" quality, then you simply do not play games. At all. Full stop. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. And passing judgement on Stardock is just silly; while it is true they recently have had a finger in Demigod's pie, you simply cannot blame them for any real or perceived faults with Demigod. You can blame their service, their impulse client, what have you - but blaming them for somebody else's piece of work is simply stupid.</
