Having team portraits would also be useful. Kinda sucks trying to select a teammate for an action in the chaos sometimes (often). Customizable size so as to not take up much of the view would be good. And freaking name plates in the actual game world ("oh wait, haha, so many mobs I didn't see that enemy demigod there!"). There are a lot of little niceties that should be here, and I hope they take a bit of time to get them added in ;)

Stun immunity based on hostile skills (ie, not from some skill on your side) should be limited to the repetition of the same skill or family of skills (family not really relevant in demigod). You should be able to be chain stunned by the variety of demigods. Yes, erebus charms then tb frosts then beast shackles. Limiting to one stun, especially aoe stuns, completely breaks the concept of demigods with different types of stuns.

People just need to stop being wusses. The only people that don't want to participate in premades are the ones that either do not want a challenge (aka people that only like to win) or people that only want challenges up to a certain amount (aka "Oh my team sucks, that's why we lost. I totally admit the other team is good, but we would have done a lot better if my teammates were good. It is just too frustrating that I seem to never be on a good team. It's my team, I am

Yeah, the stats are fine. There is a little discrepancy regarding total games vs games lost/won whic, as Blitz said, probably is due to AIs. IE, a person starts a game, they get recorded as that demigod playing a game. And then they disconnect, and so while there is a stat for having played the game, no loss or win is recorded for that because it became an AI. Of course, it would make sense that total games is just losses + win. It might be and t

Team focused citadel The citadel is a great concept. It provides benefits that do not benefit any one person and is largely geared towards changing the play field instead of enhancing yourself. A person saves up gold and buys an upgrade. Next person saves up gold, and buys an upgrade. Maybe they save at the same time, for a single big push of upgrades (cats/giants anyone?). My issue with this is that it

This is pathetic. I can understand you not wanting to get curb stomped, that is one thing, but you put the onus at the wrong spot. If premade teams are constantly crushing you, the problem is YOUR team not your opponents. Maybe matchmaking in skirmish and pantheon will improve such that a premade team will still be equally pitted against skilled opponents - the onus in this case is in the matchmaking being able to properly gauge the team of people vs the random people it is
p2p is basically the industry standard for RTS games. don't be misinformed. the problems Demigod has experienced were due to poor scalability on a particular piece of code (the NAT facilitator, if you care about specifics). it can be argued (and has been, succesfully, i might add) that Demigod should have had a BETTER p2p system but it is really foolish to suggest that there's anything inherently unusual or bad about a p2p syste

What do you mean "back to 30 seconds." Every game I have played on the previous patch disconnected a player after a total lag time of 30 seconds. Which brings me to this point: with this patch, if I am the one lagging, I get dropped out of game before 30 seconds on the disconnect dialog (including verified by the people I was playing with). Thus far I have been dropped after 10 seconds and 21 seconds (two different games). &nbsp

Copy protection, the current big scam industry. That industry says they are needed, afterall, look at all the pirates! "Oh no, they are right! We need this!" And the industry laughs and laughs all the way to the bank. I am having trouble thinking of any other product that punishes the customer while letting the criminal go free.
I wonder what the SPORE haters damage control will be when the game passes 2mln, then 3 mlns or maybe even 4mln copies
Haters don't have to damage control, especially if those figures are over time. And, by the way, having a negative view on something doesn't make you a hater. A hater is a fan-boy that is raging against something with no actual reason to (ie, "I want to fit in" or "I want to be a rebel

Pretty much any company is willing to be bought. It just boils down to what the company hopes to retain. For instance, Valve being the subject at hand has a few things going for it: 1) Its Half-Life franchise 2) Its general high-level of quality in all aspects 3) Steam 1 is a cash cow, for hopefully obvious reasons. 3 is an even bigger cash cow, which pulls Valve away from having to make all its money off of Half-

SLI is not cost effective at any price point. The only time you should realistically consider SLI is if you are able and willing to buy top of the line, wherein you don't mind dropping $500+ for a sub 10% increase in frame rate. At the moment, you can nab a 9800GT for Something else to keep in mind is to always get ram in even amount of sticks. DDR is a nice thing, and there is no reason to not go for it. Unfortunately, th

PS: you do know that Demigod is inspired by Defense of the Ancients, a Warcraft 3 mod, right? I point it out because, while it is nice to finally have a game based around that idea - and as such, means for many more options that have yet to be explored in that realm - it is not original or groundbreaking. It doesn't really sound like you have played many RTS games at all, actually.

I played both Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2 from their respective day ones. Dungeon Siege really was a barren game, in terms of the user experience. A lot of spells, even though you only use 2 at most (one of which is a heal, while the other is whatever does the most damage). Cyclone of fire or Lightning Blast. Dungeon Siege is fun, but it is boring at the same time. Dungeon Siege 2 gave the user more options. It made t

Also, both threads are about game modes.
Horrible, ignorant attitude. That attitude is what leads a huge majority of games that should be good - and maybe even are good for one play through - in to fester

AGP has not been standard for anything, even budget PCs for many years. You may not care about graphics, but fact is, most people prefer a game that has both good gameplay and pretty effects. I personally disdain people that expect a brand new game to work on technology that is half a decade old, or more. It isn't there fault you bought cheap; nor is it your fault you bought cheap if you had to. But if you had to buy cheap, then you should accept that
