Having fantasty creatures being rare is a nice change. It's gotten kind of old to play a game that tries to make something like dragons seem unique and powerful, only they rain from the heavens. If I convince a dragon to side with me, that should be a big deal. It shouldn't be "oh go over there and train 200 dragons for a new squad." So this is a great direction.
I completly agree with you. I think it's great t

Nice to have a definitive answer on this. Thanks! It's nice to know we'll have the choice in sandbox mode :) Also interested in these Krax!
The beta stress test will determine the final numbers.
Thanks for the response, Frogboy! I guess we shall see!
I'll be extremely sad if the number of AIs is limited to anything in the single-digits. I would love to play a massive 64-bit map with the same player density as you might find on a regular "huge" map. Empires here and there will dominate over regions, slowly s
Get on Impulse and look up Elemental, it tells you right there (1-8 players). Also, I thought it was mentioned in a Dev journal. Ill look through em and post it when I find it.
I've noticed their is an 8 player maximum for the game. Is that just human players or a combonation of AI & human? I hope it''s not the latter because I think 8 players will make those huge 64 bit maps a little barren. I was looking at the elemental/civ4 map comparison post. They showed how much bigger an Elemental map is going to be yet it comes nowhere near what a Civ4 maps can support (in terms of AI or human players). What do you all think?
I think they've changed it up. No paticular faction is stuck being "good" or "evil" or using life or death magic. In the beginning of the game you pick your faction and pick which magic you want to imbue the land with. Thats the way I read it.
Alot of good new info! Thanks Frogboy!
UGH! EVIL EVIL EVIL ....I was so excited!!! It's looking like an August FAQ at this point.
There forums are so dead! So depressing. Let's see if we can change that. Out of everything announced so far, what is you're favorite piece of news and your least favorite.... Favorite: 64bit maps!!! I cannot wait to play some long multiplayer games Least Favorite: Humans are the only playable race :( (easily solved by modding though!) Respond back for gosh sakes...the elemental section of my RSS reader is getting cobwebs!
Modding in pregnancy?! Now I've read it all....
When is the July FAQ scheduled to come out?
That would be cool if it was just plain text. I've been trying to learn Py as well so I can mod every aspect of this game. I cant wait!
Welcome to the forums! Here is the dev post on modding. https://forums.elementalgame.com/349782 It doesnt mention anything about modding events but one of the goals for this game is to make everything moddable in such a way that it could be classified as a new game. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be able to mod events. However, I think at this point it will have to be down via code. &nbs

I think Landi already asked this but I'm curious to know how the tech randomization will actually work. Will these randomized techs be available to every faction in a given game? Or will randomized techs differ from faction to faction in a given game? I think the latter would be cool. It would defnitely make each faction more unique.
I don't know if this counts as tech randomization but we are planning to have a pool of techs that are are inserted into games based on whether they make their probability roll. I.e. certain techs would show up in some games but not in others. Not core techs but ones that spice things up in different directions.
More better news! Man, is there anything this game wont have?
Researching multiple techs?! Sounds pretty sweet! Thanks for the update!
Thanks for the site, Taranis! Looks pretty good so far! +1 karma for you and Denryu!

If so, did you end up placing?
Batman hands down
I dont mind that their hedge walls if they can be upgraded. If that is the case...the above picture suggests that you can have multiple upgradable walls? That would actually be tight...
I really never had any interest in programming until I heard how moddable this game will be. Are there any resources out there that the Devs or seasoned Python programmers can reccomend? I dont want to take classes but would love a good website or book(s) reccomendation. I want to be somewhat proficient by the time this games come out. I am a complete n00b when it comes to programming. I took a couple of college programming classes back in the day but thats a
No, there real and I understand that some people may like them. I'm just saying I think they will look out of place for every single race. I hope it's an option more than anything.
What's up with the hedge walls? They dont provide any bonus aside from allowing you to put guard towers up. I personally think they look out of place especially when you mix it with a real city wall like shown below (which I think looks fantastic btw). I really hope this isnt the default for every race. I plan on playing an evil channler most of the time and dont think neatly pruined hedges would fit into my city themes. Just my 2 cents..What do you all thin
Just thought of something...you cant recreate the artifact spell. In one of the dev journal's Boogiebac mentioned that they dont think theyll have time for in-game editing tools. However, it sounded like something he wanted to do so maybe in an expansion? Actually, another dev journal specifically said that there WILL be in-game editing tools.
Check out the Dev post titled "Countdown to B
