Wow, a community meltdown... not sure how to interpret this. We get, possibly, one of the best TBS games of all time, and everyone's acting like it's curtains? Well, I tell you one thing, I like this game, but I am not going to act like I am walking on egg shells when I post. I'll keep making constructive suggestions, and let them know what I think of their changes. Either way, what I post or where I post suggestions ..that's a

While you are busy checking into the weapons balance ... Think a little more about weapon type and armor type. This is an area of the game that is really weak. When you get down to it there is not much variation. You have really boiled it down to two types; ranged and melee. These two attack types have a number associated with them and the bigger it gets, well it just gets bigger. This would be great IF and only if the unit battles were played out on the

Frogboy, you have to be one of the best CEO's, well, period. Now, stop beating yourself up. Elemental may not be perfect, but it's damn high up in the list of the best TBS games ever made. Some really critical things that need tweaking ... Heros: too bland - give them some unique abilities that make them special to the land and/or attune them to specific elemental magic. Army Units: to shallow - need
In the new system, you could research the spellbooks of which you control the shards earlier or deeper than the other books. So yes, I hope the magic part in the game will be improved. But having read different threads on this subject I sense a danger that the balance could sway the other way, making the new magic system too overwhelmingly powerful. At least that seems to be what a lot of gamers want. I quite like it when, fitting
It's pretty easy to make minor factions do more so I'll take your suggestions and do exactly that. Minor factions will focus on building one kick-arse metropolis but they won't expand.
Excellent. I really would hate to see the minor factions become pointless. This seems a good middle ground that will keep them serving some purpose. It would be nice to see them trading and such as that kin

Since the update, I can't seem to place a settlement with a pioneer. The action button is 'greyed' out and when I click it I get a warning that says the tile must be empty to place a settlement. This is in a saved game, so I am not sure if that is the problem. I will start a new game and see if that clears the issue.
Well to speak frankly I did try to justify the system with a similar reasoning. I did state in my original post that I can accept the odd lair being "dug up", or re-found or something. But... it takes a damn lot of "imaginative effort" to explain everything this way. I can't accept to be able to SAFELY journey through the land in the first part of the game, when I know that those same lands are populated by hordes of ravagi
Also, your scholars toiling away in your tech lab built on a city with a workshop and a farm, are in no way going to be capable of somehow unearthing gigantic ancient towers from the earth. I'm reasonably sure researching adventure is also superfluous and in no way roleplay friendly. Anyway, back to my original point, the research is largely just silly, which is unfortunate.<br /
I feel the need to elaborate, as the more I think about it, the more I realize that's possibly the biggest issue I have with the game at this point. It's where the sense of detachment comes from. I can't relate with the game with this technology tree. Bugs can be fixed, spells can be added, a map "randomizator" should be in works... sometime. But how to address this very basic, structural flaw with the game? Maybe I was spoiled by the great games of the past,

whoops, guess my thread entitled Fan-Frakin-Tabulous could be considered declaratory... sorry about that, just love your game.

After playing this game for several days now I have to say, awesome. The more I play this game the more I love it. The level of customization is what really takes this game over the top. The unit cards with the ability to pose them and throw in your own cliche'd quote ... too sweet. After figuring out how to pace the game and knowing what to reseach and when ... pure coolnes. You can almost feel a change in the world when other races figure out s

It's the next logical step from the "you aren't paying for the software, you are buying a license to use the software" SCAM that they've already rammed down the market's throat. No.Not a license to use the software. A license for getting updates for the software. You can use it as much as you want, bu

In response to the OP... Hogwash Blasphemy! Where's my iron maiden, drag out the rack! Seriously. Pay to play a single player experience? No. The model you describe promotes lazy developing and "we'll shove it out the droor broken and fix it later" attitudes even more. On top of that you'd be hooked in a subscription that may or may not (most likely not) be worth the value of the dollar you are

I wouldnt call it perfect, but its absofrakinlutely one hell of a nice TBSG, thats (turn based strategy game) for any of you that might still be wet behind the ears. Its been a hell of a long time since I have seen a game of this caliber come out. You guys at Stardock should be proud of yourselves. Im hooked, can't stop playin it. Keep up the great work supporting this baby, and you'll have a legend in no time. Meanwhile, I'v
