There's already a penalty to armor in the war tech tree -- it reduces dodge. Possibly not enough penalty, but still some. The numbers in your example seem to have top qlty armor reduce mobility to just 1/4 of what an unarmored fighter would have. That seems too drastic even if the concept is valid. I'd vote for a trait tree, with some being pre-reqs for others. I'd also vote for different heroes being pemitted / permanently locked-out-of groups of traits. "Random" might sound nice, but it it is the same random selection for everyone, we can just eventually get the same ones for every hero -- if 1st 2nd choice aren't offered this time, pick our normal #3 choice and wait for next time, etc. The proposed system is a lot like AoW-SM, which I didn't like much, mostly beca

Agree with OPs list and most of the above, including ability to craft magic items and desire for more spells. My own requests / complaints are: 1: In most of my campaigns on max-sized maps, I end up running out of spells to research, especially if I don't have all 4 starting elemental books. Either add more level 6++ spells, or some refined spellcasting that increases the effect of some spells, similar to what intelligence does. Or both. 1a: May
There is already a check-box on the options screen called "enable quick move" that makes units move faster on the main map. Still need a slider too ?? BTW, I could really, REALLY use a similar option for speeding up animations & movement in tactical combat. Or, the total-war style space-bar works find. 1: I've felt for a long time that pop-up messages like "there is already a trade route between x & y" should be suplemented or replaced by a message on the left edge of the screen that we could click on and it would jump to the spot, like so many city messages. But the clincher came (in 1.19f) with a message saying something to the effect of "your caravan cannot find a route back and cannot set up a trade route". OP's 8, 9, 10 & 11c are long-term issues with me too.
New Also, I've had two times when units would not respond to order in battle and I ended up switching to auto-resolve because I couldn't find any way to get them unstuck. Both times the hero was in the sunk-down position and did not pop back up.
Sometimes when a group of enemy are attactiing one of my units which has a good counterattact, I see the animation for one of the enemies dying before the animation for the enemy swinging at me. Mounted heroes often seem to sink into the middle of their mounts for a while. Usually they pop back up pretty quick. (In case it matters, they are kingdom, but riding purchased warg mounts).
I'm ok with super-strong heros able to take out whole stacks. Kind of the point of a fantasy game with heroes in it at all. But they do seem to be a bit too plentiful in late-game, and there are too many that are basically identical except for minor differences in starting equipment. I'd favor more variety of special abilities, including maybe pathfinder, moutaineer, master archer, some abilities that increase attack / defence / health of ordinary units in the army, etc, e
Xander is a sovie in the book content. Buy "Destiny's Embers". Register the magic code you get with the book. Go to Impulse and you should see "Elemental: Destiny's Embers" as something you can install. Then Xander, Nym & others appear as sovie choices in the startup screen. I notice you can't. Just not sure if that is really an oversight or intentional. I'm playing a non-spell caster sovie (Xander from the book extra content), so I can't cast anything untill the kids grow up, but then it might be fun to imbue him if I could. Were they even thinking about non-channeler sovies when they designed the imbue spell A? (this is on 1.19e)
I've gotten suggestions to negotiate marriages from factions that have only sons, when all I have is sons too.
3: for the Hermit, try to get heroes with "cushing blow" or better yet, "savage strike", as these do damage regardless of defense. Equip them with Elementiun Karazzans. If you have the book, Xander can do it too.
FWIW, I *never* load without exiting & saving. That may be why I OOM less often than some others seem to. So my OOM above must have some other cause, like maybe playing too many turns too much going on. I was using the "dominate" ability a lot in that campaign. Could there be a connection there ? I know it gets confused by "dominate" be cause every time I use it there is a ghost dead unit left on the screen.
