Bugged for me also, I don't have a save though :( At the time I didn't have any open quests.
Ever try slavers? It has some sweet benefits if you go for high materials.
I want to, what do you usually play as with that ability?
I'm not sure how many new events the dev's are putting in, but I was thinking of some that I'd like to see: Red Sky : Some foul magic has covered the land in a red haze, turning even the sky a deep shade of red. Brother argues with brother and neighbors take up their swords against one another. All factions are set in a state of war with a serious diplomatic penalty All units of all factions gain the "Berserk" b
I've hit a wall where, each time I play, it's pretty much the same. There's probably a lot of different ways to play though, so I figured I'd poll some people here and try some new things. Currently, I play (apologies, I don't have the game in front of me so I don't know all the true names) Custom Kingdom: Enchanters (?) for Scrying pool and Spellbooks Wanderlust (?) for Quest maps and swords Heroic (?) for Henchmen
Beastlord really isn't useless, I play as it almost every game. In the first 5 turns I'll usually have a a widow helping my sov and a few wolves doing my exploration.
I had made a post on this a while back, my idea was that buildings add something to the defense of the town. Something like: Shrines could summon magical beings to help defend the city (maybe a low level elemental or two) Temple of essence could summon higher level elementals to defend Barracks give high level units Command posts give some kind of hero / general Bell towers grant impulsive to the defenders A horses
If I right click to move then, really quickly, spam click "Road", I can build a road before movement is calculated and get charged 1/4 of a move.
The new patch is already out.
Awesome!!
And I'll add that FE isn't released yet. There's still a lot of polish, balance, and fixing going on to make it better. The Thursday build (tomorrow) is significantly faster, smoother and, imo, much better balanced. Also, it incorporates pioneer improvements into the city build list (so you can't have to hunt and peck around to see if there's things to upgrade). The AI is much MUCH
I watched, but I only really paid attention to what his pioneers were doing and just spammed end turn. Occasionally I'd use the ctrl-T teleport to put one of my pioneers in a position to die, but that's about it.
The Plan : Start a game with one AI on a large map, challenging difficulty, cheats on. Use the view cheat to see everything. I'm going to count the number of times monsters attack his units (not the other way around) and do some stupid stuff with my own pioneers. End Result: I didn't get a large sample size because, after 100 turns, Magnar only built 4 pioneers.
I don't think the randomness is helping the fun. This is a strategy game remember? How am I supposed to make a meaningful decision when I have utterly no way of knowing if that super dragon is going to let me walk on by or completely obliterate my stack that I spent 80 turns building and cost each of my champions an injury? That's not a strategy question. That's a gambling question. What if instead you just gave e
Just to derail this totally: Has anyone actually found a use for henchmen?
Henchmen are amazing! I use my sovereign and quest-map powerlevel two tiers: The first set of 4 or 5 I take to level 7 or 8 (takes 1-3 turns depending on the quests you get) and go path of the governor. They'll usually have 3 talents among Loremaster and Merchant, so each one will be worth 1-2 research and 2-5 gildar, plu
Joasoze - I agree. It breaks down though when custom factions can have more than one of those overpowered abilities. In my opinion, there should be a list of "OP" traits that you can select one of, and then a list of play-style traits that you can select more than one of.
I start with Civics (for rushing), then go to Mounted Combat and then Leatherworking to increase the speed and armor of my sovereign. Speed is king in this game. Once I'm moving 4 per turn I can level so much faster (and, as a Beastmaster, the beasts I tame mostly move 4, so they can keep up), and I'm too busy building pioneers to build a Study. After that Knowledge and Trading for roads.
What if monsters attacking was still random, but they had a bunch of "z z z z"'s coming off of them when they won't agro so we know the roll came up with them sleeping?
I like the ability to dispel city enchantments from the detail GUI, but I probably shouldn't be able to do it to the AI players cities... It didn't cost me mana, so I wasn't casting dispel, just canceling it. Not that it mattered - I was up over 500 mana again, and this was Kraxis' only city :)
Cast it on Pariden, they're still building things in the town I cast it on. It might have been dispelled, but I'm still paying mana upkeep.
I burned my mana supply hitting about 6 Pariden cities with Kurgen's Volcano (all in one turn, the spell probably needs a cooldown), but it wouldn't destroy their outposts, just everything else. Also - is there a diplomatic penalty for crushing half their empire under a volcano? There probably should be.
If there's some percentage bonus to research, set in stone doesn't remove it, and the city will have some small research value. Thanks for the reply! Stupid trolls!!
If I attempt to move a unit with some moves left onto an AI city (non-enemy), the moving animation loops. It should probably just not let me do it in the first place.

I swear it was in the patch notes that they fixed it back in 0.980? "Fixed an issue causing the health bars in tactical to not update" about 2/3rds of the way down fixes: https://forums.elementalgame.com/431613
