I rather like this. We'd still have to think of something for the major players, but this has a lot of potential. One way I see of extending it to majors is the ability to misinform the learder: you get Grima'd, and the enemy actually shows you things that aren't there. Like your ally betraying you, and stuff. Again, not very fleshed-out, but worth considering....
Summer vacation lasts until August 18th...... and starts on August 17th. I wish my dad was a better cook.
Banned for thinking people ncare about the sources of avatars.
Banned for trying to get people into chains, you pervert.
Ok, now we know how things won't work.... we could really use some info on how they will : How many heroes will the average player get in an average game (I realize that this might change with map size, but it's possible to factor that in by comparing the numbers of regular units, beasts, etc.). In short, how hard is it to get a hero? How will cities be layed out, and how do people move around inside them? This "People-as-a-
Agreed. That would still create a dullness horizon, simply because nobody can write an infinite amount of lore, but a LEGO system would make that horizon exponentially farther away.

I have to agree with Psy here, RNGs are the bane of my existance, and should be exceptions, as opposed to the norm. A little randomness isn't bad (especially if it isn't so much random as specifically directed by the game to make things more fun), but the thing should be primerily skill-based.
I'm beginning to dislike some of the clothmap icons..... they don't really look like the rest of the map..... the lines are too thick, and the dark areas are too homogenous.....
Well, as I said before, Brad often uses the same names and "threads" in completely different projects..... let me see if I can dig up that old RTS that had all the GC2 races in it......
Meh, I'd like to see where they said the opposite?
Well, considering the overwealming history of sandbox TBSs, I for one assumed that elemental would be just like every other TBS I have played and not include an involved story in SB mode.
Someone makes a Twisted Metal movie, but it's made by a 15-year-old with an analog camcorder and never sees the light of day. I wish the Elemental beat would come out.
Bad idea: not having a wife, then running for the governor of Kansas.
Actually, as long as the AI has the power to do it to you , altering the other guy's offer might open up some good haggling options....
Try reading what I actually posted before you fire off the knee-jerk torpedoes, buddy. I simply have no interest in some fixed story; I want a sandbox game.
Well, you'll get it. Nowhere did we hear that the sandbox games would have events and behavior dictated by story.
Veeeeery Eeeenteeresteeng....... How should the AI balance short-term gains versus long-term gains? I would very much like to see different AI levels follow these rules to different degrees.....
I cant wait to research the spells "agriculture" and "Iron working"
I'm looking further down the road, to "Python Modding". [e digicons]:P[/e]
Six: Life and Death, which are seperate elements and don't use shards, and there's Water, Fire, Air, and Earth, which do. Six elements, four shards.
Well, the color looks odd now that you mention it, but what gets me are the thick, dark lines and filled-in areas. I expected something more like pencil sketches, where the lines are thinner and the fill-in has a definite "linear" quality. And what better time to suggest changes than the alpha, when assets are limited and stuff is easy to change?
I dion't need to be a dev to know a little bit about general programming, and while it would be doable, seperate-unit spies are sipmler, and can be more easily modded.
Maybe four or five snooping around enemy territory if you're really into espionage.
Depends on the size of you and the size of the enemy. Certainly no more than 50 total at the absolute, quasi-infinite-map, very-end-game, complete-espionage-focus maximum.
Interesting..... I don't know quite where to begin.... how about with "It really sucks that minors can't sign NDEs". Now that that's off my chest, let's get into the analysis and critiques: Not sure if I like the cloth map icons...... they don't look like something you'd find on an ancient map..... I am assuming that the "workshop" contains the editors. I am surprieed that the alpha contains the editors. I am happy that the <
Well scoutdog what you described is exactly a diplomatic victory from GC2, except you have to take the extra one minute to sign the alliance pacts.
No, no: alliance victory was diplomatically based. Espionage victory is espionage based, and more one-sided: you don't just make friends, you take control.
