I like this, although I think there should be one more. I don't know what to call it, but it would be basicly like Barad-dur
Actually, that sounds more like Orthanc than Barad Dur..... in the game I do think it would be nice to be able to put essence into building super-fortifications, but that it should be an option available to all fortress types. Your Barad Dur would most likely be the "juiced" form of the wizard tower.

Well, some of what you are mentioning will already be in the game: units will be produced from citizens, and won't be very standardized. However, the main probem with adding in too much backstory for each unit is that some poor dev somewhere has to write all that backstory. A few prefabricated stories or story "blocks" wouldn't be abig deal, but remember that we're talking about battles involving hundreds, if not thousands of units. Making each one unique would probably be much more
Didn't a Dev post that a winning condition was learning and casting some specific spell? Can't find the entry, but I beleive it was something like "Eden" or "Genesis" or "Imbue Life."
It was called the "Spell of making". I'm not sure what exactly it makes , but I assume it's something very, very powerful....

Why restrict it to one type? I always thought of forts as being to some degree modular, with different things that you can put on in edifferent combinations.
wtf. its MA15+ in Aus.
Which means......? What were, for example, The International , Transformers , Saw , and Up rated? (I'm not familiar with the Australian rating system.)
Hey, that screenshot has a "heroes" counter in it! How do heroes work? Are they just your imbued units, or something totally different?
Man, I missed that one! Usually I pick these things apart as soon as I see them, but I just managed to track down Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, so my mind isn't on my "work"...... learning the intricacies of the hero system would go a looong way to determining a good way to do espionage......

Well, I am assuming that they would be more complex than Sins pirates (mainly becuase it's hard not to!), but you have a point: these guys could get very annoying, very quickly. Plus, I don't really feel that a massive, organized criminal organization has a place in a fantasy setting where vast portions of the land are still wild and information (at least in theory) flows slowly.
Don't forget essence; we don't know how it works but you need essence as well as mana to cast spells.
Actually, except for a few permamnent spells, I thought Boogie said that they will not have an essence requirement, but thwe closest thing to concrete proof I could quickly find is this thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/354839/page/1/#replies
I still don't like breaking a perfectly good army system by introducing cheeseball units that break the rules. It's a layer of crap you simply don't need.
Well, if you don't want them, me and probably a lot of other people would still be perfectly happy with sabotage functions integrated with the spymaster's desk.... If you don't like it, then just don't use it. Nobody's forcing you to enable espionage.......
That makes me feel obliged to speak up for the smart gay jocks. I know they're out there...
Well, every jock I'bve ever met has been really, really homophobic..... and not that smart. Good luck looking, though......

Looks good, except for one thing: spies should have a secondary ability to destroy stuff, and commandoes should have a secondary ability to learn/manipulate. This way, you can do one or the other, depending on what you're better at.

Indeed. The only benifit I can see to a slider system is that it miiiiiight make it a TINY bit easier to mod in a good workable espionage system..... but since it would also probably set the loud people off, why bother?
