I just really HATE the black FOW. It looks aweful, and goody huts and other objects inside the "first" part of it are outlined wierdly. The D'ni-plague-gas-brown coloring we had before was not GREAT, but it was better than this. I personally would prefer a white or grey coloring, or perhaps something that looked like fresh parchment.

The diplomatic screen is at the moment a complete, indecipherable mess . I talk to Tarth, and see a bunch of treaties listed on the top of the screen, some with indecipherable numbers beside them. There are also other treaties listed as buttons on the bottom of the screen: when I click on one, it greys out and appears on the top list. This seems to make the treaty "valid", as I had clicked on Peace Trea

I must say, I'm disappointed that "electrical" damage is in as a replacement to wind. Electrical power in a pure fantasy setting is a bit of a stretch, IMHO.

If SSD keeps the current research system as is (which I'm still hoping they don't) it would be useful to have the techs display their colors when you actually select them on the breakthrough screen, so that you can determine whether to get the super-rare one now or tempt fate again.

I'm still distrusting the tech system...... it looks like a lot of necessary techs are yellow and even red,and they don't ever seem to change. It looks like they're implimenting a system where techs change colors after a certain amount of turns pass...... if so it would probably be painful waiting for stuff to become viable while your hard-built RP structure languaishes and your enemy catches up because (s)he was slower in the first place........

I don't date, so I really have nothing to say on the wives/harems/general jocularity topic. However, I agree that raids as opposed to out-and-out conquest is a great way to keep the military side of the geame from becoming the only victory option (or absolute best one under all circumstances). And it's razing , not raising . Or maybe you do want to raise cities when you capture them........ that way you get to keep the loot, but all the citizens who fle
Are there really climate records dating back thousands of years?
Yes and no. There aren't exactly written records, but the climate data comes from ice core samples that have been effectively undisturbed since that time. A freind of mine from school went on to do some college work with the processes involved, and she tells me that it's accurate to within a few degrees.
I wasn't aware PG-18 was a rating.
I think it's some other country's version of "T". You have to have parental consent if under the age of 18 or whatever.

Fascenating modding system..... of course, it still alarms me to see the devs proceeding further down the "closed borders" track.......... but I'll be modding that out shortly if they don't......
Am I completely blind to be missing all the subtext? I haven't really noticed any of the 'pokes at Democrats or Obama'. The whole thing is really just a variation on the theme of Brave New World, with the aliens trying to control us by giving us what we want. If you're saying it's an allegory for Obama, it seems equally suitable as an allegory for any given politician.
It's pretty subtle, so much so that I'm not even sure if it's even there as I said before: the whole arrival of
Actully it should keep the sex scenes and add more. Not all of us are uptight prudes
Well, if they want to have a porn show set on a spaceship in the Stargate universe, I'm not gonna stop them, but at least stop calling it a sci-fi series... Or is that even technically music?
