[Bug/Gameplay][0.262] Captured a defended city without a fight, enemy soldier captured too

I've just captured a defended enemy city.

Only the soldier defending it didn't fight and defected to my side. I.e. I've captured the soldier too. :D

Also this city has way too many people in it for such a small amount of housing.

I saw this as well, and posted about it in my dysfuctional diplomacy thread. Did you by any chance agree to a non-agression pact with them?

Oh, sorry, must have overlooked that. But no, only thing was marching in to their territory, declaring war and conquering the city with the soldier in it.
