(I'm only half serious.
Half???? In any event, I don't think that my parents would enjoy me going on a long road trip with some guy I met on the Web.... they'd proabalby assume you were Charles Manson or something....

Speaking of the homepage, are we going to get any more Lore? I know it's probably a lost cause @ this point, but I am sooooo bored waiting for the Dayton Air Show........

I know for a fact that the spell system will have a tree structure to it. Moreover, a strict D&D system would, as I said, put an unfair advantage on players who go Gandalf (meaning power up their channeler and ignore city-building). However, the option of alternate quest-basing for all spells would certainly help, as mentioned above.
I'd love to see a tech tree driven by the old D&D "find your spells" method. If you don't know what I mean, in old school D&D you could only learn a spell if you could find a copy. Some spells were well known, so everyone had a copy and you could buy one. As the spells got more powerful though, you frequently relied on a loot drop of a scroll to find the spell you wanted and inscribe it in your spell book. Also, there was a maximum number of spells per level you could learn, so

Actually, I think that the "border" is essence-related: In one of Brad's screenshots, there is a red line that I am assuming is the border because no ohter border lines are visible. It pretty clearly matches the boundry of revived land, hence my theory.

Well, I might break a few minor labor laws, but I DO need communtiy service hours for school and I REALLY don't want to have to mow any more lawns........ [e digicons]*_*[/e] Tough news on the alpha (looks like it will be released riiiight when I go back to school [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] ), but I would rather have a good quality alpha in a month than a crappy alpha right now.

The map generator certainly does look nice, but one thing I am hoping to see is a not-quite-random set of options where you cn control the general "type" of map if you so wish.
as far as I have found out Zweihanderen were created to fight mounted opponents..
Although the purpose of a weapon doesn't always match its actual use.... something like that actually seems like it would be good against, like, giant animals.

Bad idea. Tell the poor to stop f**** ing, causing them to die out in a single generation, while simultaneously starving the rich to death.
I might buy that if you changed "negitive (sic)" to "non-constructive." What's the point of a public beta if all the devs hear from outsiders is cheerleading?
I agree. At this stage, I feel brutal honesty is the best thing we can give them.

I hope cheats will be included in the alpha/beta. How elese will I be able to easily produce massive numbers of everything and see how long it takes to run out of virtual memory?
Do you think a paper rock scissors system would work here? I believe that's how GalCiv2 and Civ4 (to some extent) do it.
GC2 doesn't use a conventional rock-paper-scissors system in that different weapons are more or less the same. It's more like rock-rock-rock. Hiowever, a weapons tringle would be very, very good, if not particularly original.

It also helps to have an old and/or cheap computer, the crappier the better (w/ in reason) to see how the game does on less-than-standard systems.
but I wonder if there isn't also value in having some of us work our little ruts as hard as we can, especially if that more or less just means getting as far along in a very large map as you can before the next build is posted.
Now THERE'S an idea: co-ordinate the beta testing externally so that you don't have 500 people all reporting

Me neither. Fortunately, you don't actually HAVE to participate in the feedback process: you can just play the game. It's not like they have a limited number of downloads or anything.
Well, that raises the question: are there going to be female channelers? (and other units for that matter)
All the units I have seen so far are male, but you never know..... we will probably have a female channe;er or two, the one on the cover is female (I think).
