I don't think race really plays into it one way or another. Just because a character is not black does not mean they're Caucasian. Or Asian. Or Arabic. Or any other racial/ethnic stereotype.
But they aren't Asian or Arabic or any other ethnic subtype. They look like me! I don't really care too much about it, and I'm not asking for a Rainbow Coalition here, but it does get rather boring after a while and just seems a wee bit odd. From my own forays into development I understa

I actually find the eight-tiles-per-upgrade rule a bit silly and very restrictive at the same time. Instead of a hard cap that doesn't really make much sense from a realistic point of view, why not just add in a logarythmically/exponentially-growing cost (in production, efiicicency, population, gold, whatever... I'm thinking population getting tied up in logistical jobs and thus becoming unavailable) for each tile expanded onto over the city level? Needs refinement, sure, but
Of the Empire pictures I definitely prefer the last one, Kraxis (beatiful gold on his mantle and armour). But I do note that he looks (not just inspired by, but really looks) like an arab/persian, so I hope you are not putting this in as the one evil, "blood traitor" human race while the Kingdoms will be all filled with fairskinned blonds (of European/American looks ...). Skimming over the Kingdom pics it actually looks like this could be the case. It's not about striving for PC 100%,
I fear you might be correct. But that won't stop me from agitating for the energy to go on a drunkard's path to Earth regardless of the electrical resistance of the chosen medium.....
Sounds like fun to me....... I've always been rather critical of the unusually high degree of maritality exhibited in most fantasy works... seems like once and a while you'd find a race that does things differently.
The problem with lightening rods is that they work by transferring electricty from the cloud to the ground along a safe conductive channel. In a fantasy world, it's unlikely that lightning (especially the magical sort) would behave in quite the same way: first, I see no reason why it would have to STAY on the path of least resistance all the way to the ground and not send some feelers out in other places, and second, there's no reason for metals to have the same relatively high electrical con
Ahh... there's nothing like coming home from school and digging into a nice, juicy dev journal......... Who are Tandis/Talax? Titans?

The helmet is also vaguely reminiscent of Pirate jaw structure as well....... curious...... For those of you who haven't the foggiest idea what I'm talking about:

I actually took the liberty of making a mock-up of my box idea: the Spellbook! The metal should appear old and rusted, perhaps "burned" into the book cover (especially around the runes). Cover itself should appear to be "dragon skin"-looking, with many burn marks, bloodstains, et cetera. The Stardock logo would be embossed onto the lower right metal triangle. "Spine" of the "book" should be metal, with "Elemental" and the S
I actually looked at the file to see if it said, and thought the M stood for "Magnar", not "Male"! Neglected to get the names of any of the others......
Faugh, as if hair length was a solid gender indicator in the real world, much less a fantasy one.
True, yet in game worlds it usually lines up. (A wee bit too often for my tastes, but that's how it is. I hereby swear that if I wind up a dev, I will decide all hair lengths using a random number generator.)
If that Magnar figure is a uterus-owner, she's a very butch one, or she was raised in a culture with absolutely no traditions of treating female
Magnar looks male to me. I don't detect any sign of demonic elven chesticles on him/her/it.
I dunno...... if it's a man it's a rather skinny one..... and the chest is a bit off as well.... blowing up the image reveals what appears to be long white hair behind the helmet....
I'd be interested to know, can Fallen only arrange marriages/mate with Fallen?
No. I'm 99.99999983% sure that you can marry between sides (although just once I'd like to see a fantasy world without the institution of matrimony........) I've figured out why Magnar reminds me of the Space Pirates: they have identical feet. I'm serious. Look at the Pirates' feet in Super Metroid or Zero Mission, and they're exactly like the Magnari's! And regarding

Yippee, first post!!!!!!! Is the Magnari sov male or female????? Either way, for some reason (s)he reminds me of a Space Pirate....

I know there will be an item editor included with the game..... however I think it will be based completely outside of the actual game, as a modding tool. There still might be some sort of "forge" in the game, but the devs aren't talking.....
