Another thing you can do is to create unoptimized custom factions and custom sovereigns. You can pick weaker traits, or traits which don't really help one another (either by more strongly focusing the faction into one area or by covering for a weakness of the other trait) or the way in which you're planning to play, and it's also legal to have points left over in faction and sovereign creation. If you really wanted to, you could make a sovereign or faction with no traits aside fro
1. The AI is unable to cast it (Similar to how it was unable to cast Arcane Monolith, so maybe extend Arcane Monolith fix to Curgen's Volcano?)
Personally, I'm really not all that upset that the computer isn't able to cast world-destroying spells. Sure, it technically gives me an advantage because I can use world-destroying spells even if the computer can't, but I just don't like them. Barren wastelands aren't useful to anyone; if I&#

It's a bug. 9 units is the most you're ever supposed to have in a single army, but sometimes there's an issue with taking garrisoned armies out of cities that results in the city's permanent garrison being carried with the army. As far as dealing with it goes, I'd suggest building up a bunch of cheap units and wearing them down, or shell out a few hundred gold for a couple of Blizzard scrolls at a Conclave with the Scroll Scribe improvement, or bring in some high l

Choose to upgrade some cities to Fortresses when you get the option to choose city types. Then at city levels 4 and 5 choose the Prison and Onyx Throne improvements, as these globally reduce unrest by 10 and 30 points. Since each city increases the empire size unrest penalty by 3, if I recall correctly, 1 Onyx Throne negates the unrest penalty for having 10 cities, while 1 Prison negates the unrest penalty for 3 and a third cities. The unrest reductions stack, so if you build enough fortresse

For 9 attack versus 1 defense, the maximum damage per hit is 8.1 damage, and the minimum damage per hit is 4.05. A six-figure unit makes 6 attacks with attack score 9, each of which can hit or miss. I believe that attacks are rolled until one misses or the unit makes as many attacks as there are figures in the unit, though it is possible that the attack rolls are independent of one another; if the attacks are rolled sequentially until one misses, then the probability of at least one hit is P
Added the Barren's Witch unit. This unit is a spellcaster who can heal allies, curse enemies and cast contagion. She can often be found aiding bandit camps, or in larger covens in service to demons.
Assuming that you want this unit's name to imply a witch residing in the barrens, a more appropriate name would be Barrens Witch rather than Barren's Witch. The former uses "barrens" as an adjective indicating the place of residence, whereas the latte

There might be a way to restrict some spells to specific AI factions, and if so, you could make it so that the computer gets a 'Summon Champion X' spell when it researches some appropriately placed technology. I am not sure that this is possible, however, and even if it is, I wouldn't know how to do it.

As the others have said, this is most likely a food problem. However, if you built a Garden and you are sure that this did not result in any growth of the city population (note that a Garden might not be sufficient - I don't recall exactly how much food a city hub gives you, but adding a Garden to a 3-grain city only increases the food supply in the city by 45, so unless you had 155 or more population in the city before adding the Garden, you wouldn't be able to go from level 3 to lev

Consulates can be worthwhile for the growth bonus (especially if you can make it come into play while the city still has a lot of growing to do, or if you have a spell like Sacrifice that lets you turn population into something useful), and High Towers can be worth it if it grabs you an extra resource without having to send out another Pioneer to build a new outpost, but the other bonuses are limited in applicability due to only applying to the 5X5 (7X7 with High Towers) box centered on the O

Find CoreWeapons.XML (should be in C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/FE Legendary Heroes/data/English/ with Windows and the default install directory), open with a text editor, use find to locate the Broadsword, find the line that says 1 , and delete it. You will also likely want to add some prerequisite tags (for examples, see e.g. shortsword). Back up CoreWeapons.XML before you edit it. [quote who="Nightmare799" reply="2" id="34921

At least for me (using Win7, not Vista), Fallen Enchantress shows up in the Add and Remove Programs interface. Are you sure that you didn't just overlook it? Other than that or the suggestion that you delete files manually, which you've already said you don't want to do, I cannot help you.
True, but each instance in the 3x30 attack rolls against dodge, so there are more chances to hit.
While I haven't tested things rigorously, the hit mechanic appears to allow a multi-figure unit to roll for attacks until it fails to score a hit or until it runs out of attacks, rather than making, in the example given, three independent rolls to hit. One indication that the system does not use independent hit r

You may be able to secure an alliance; I think, though I am not certain, that alliances allow free movement of armies through your allies' territory. Another possibility is to go to war and cut Pariden down to, for instance, a single city and no Monoliths rather than destroying Pariden outright (although this has more or less the same effect, as a single-city computer faction is more or less out of the game if everyone else has many cities).

If you want to delete the entire custom faction, then you have to go to the Legendary Heroes or Fallen Enchantress folder in "My Games" (depending on whether you're playing FE or LH), and delete all the files you find in the "Race," "RaceTypes," and "Units" folders. You may also want to delete save games so as to avoid having a game where one or more factions in the game no longer exist. If you have cloud synchronization enabled, you will need to do this while the game is running,
I tend to agree in principle, I just think it's too easy to stack init bonuses currently.
True, but that's an issue of Fast (2) + Impulsive (2) + Aura of Grace (1 to 6) + swords/spears (0 to 4) + non-plate armors (-2 or 0). Fast is just the tip of the iceberg there. If the computer were using the kinds of troops that the player was using, instead of stacking initiative penalties with full plate + clubs and not ta
Fast just has to be tweaked I think, if it was less obvious it would bring a lot of other stuff more into play. Like if it was only +1 Init and say 10 production, straight away it wouldn't be quite a much of a no brainer. One last thing before I forget, just to specifically address the concern in the original post about Mage champion damage: Yes, it's true that the various staffs/staves with spellcasting bonuses have much lower base damage than the high-end bows do. However, this does not matter. Take, for example, the Staff of Souls. If I recall correctly, this staff has an attack score of 4, grants 3 mana per kill (though I think only in melee), and offers a 25% damage bonus. Let's say that I

Pit of Madness for +1 research per essence at the cost of -1 growth is very, very good; its only weakness is that it comes at Death 4 so you need, at minimum, a level 7 champion with Death magic to cast it. Aura of Vitality is nice and can provide a sizable bonus to base hea

Well, there's the Zealot trait (+3 initiative, -1 HP per level) available to Wraiths if you're willing to train troops out of an Infirmary Fortress (grants Endurance I trait for +1 HP per level to units trained here). As for why I say 'out of an Infirmary Fortress' - Zealot + Wraith Blood means you have 0 HP per level. Adding Endurance I from the Infirmary to that brings you back to +1 HP per level. Zealot + Fast gives you +5 initiative, which is a little better than Fas

Do you have a preference for Kingdom versus Empire? Strategic casters or tactical casters? What type of mage do you want to play? How much versatility do you want said mage to have? A custom Mage sovereign should probably have Brilliant and Tactician; at the very least, the experience bonus from Brilliant is worthwhile, and you can never go wrong with more initiative. You should perhaps look at the spells available in each path and decide what you want to play with, rather than having

If you're using a spellcaster, why are you using basic attacks? Spells like Flame Dart and Kill typically greatly exceed the single-target damage potential of any weapon; spells like Blizzard and Horrific Wail can kill armies with one or two castings. Overall, if you're using a spellcaster to perform basic attacks, you aren't using the caster correctly. There are a couple of staffs that improve spell damage or spell mastery or reduce spell costs, and daggers provide an ini
