I got this when just starting out. I will go ahead and copy/paste the map seed to the other post, as well. http://pastebin.com/m453e3713
I'm sorry if any of you are getting tired of me already :P Hit Alt+Tab and got this. I am sure there were some other things, like a dead animal or something also visible from start. Hit Alt+Tab again, and got a hang, which I will submit to FogBugz. -Xen
Go into advanced and select Empires. I have only been able to get Resoln. Haven't specifically looked for tricks to get anyone else. Further proof. boogiebac says: Fixed, ya' cheaters ;)
This is in Beta 1A, after switching the screen resolution and setting back to full screen.
Think about the idea, and not the image itself, because it's obvious that it dosen't fit the art style of the clothmap. But, for example, developers could implement a map in which terrain under fog of war is completely brown, and visible areas have some colour on them, either like in Nezic mockup (preferibly), or with coloured lines as other have suggested.
I am still somewhat against the the idea of the elven ma
I also think the map should resemble the mod Elven Map Redux for Oblivion screenshot below..
After Seeing and Image, I disagree strongly. That map is far too busy, and would detract from the purpose of the cloth map, as stated by BoogieBac. Consider having to get information on enemy/ally strength at a glance, that information is now competing to stand out from the map, instead of the map being subdued to allow that information through quickly.
Easy fix. Airships.
Until Intel creates a 64bit version of Havoc. This game will remain in 32bit, as I understand.
There is also google sketch-up which, as I understand, is free and particuarly good for building modeling. In all seriousness Max sucks badly, and I dunno about maya. I think being able to use several different modeling programs would be beneficial. Unfortunately, I don't currently know much about model import pipelines, so I don't know the drawback to just using .obj files, which, as I understand, are pretty standardized. If worst comes to worse, I guess you could alwa
Delete/ignore this please. Don't know how I got a double post.
I don't think this is a particularly good idea, as, if I don't want to be researching something/don't have anything to research, you have just rendered the game unplayable.
Indeed. Max is fail.
Currently with the lack of content, I would wait to design units till after you have all of the Weapons/Armor researched. Won't take too long and then you can design the ultimate unit.
and here is the debug.err http://pastebin.com/me7b68b0 have fun :D -Xen
1) Lock the cursor in game, at least while full screen. It may not be an issue for most people, but I have a dual monitor set up, and this will play in to my next suggestion. Easiest way I can think to do this would be to set up a collision routine with the cursor and a box the size of the set resolution (check to see if the cursor is out of bounds and reposition it at the edge of bounds). There may be a better way to go about it, but I don't know of it. 2) Scrolling the Map by moving
