that is mysterious. the way it staggers at the mouth of the river is especially strange. It looks intended for that reason.

change? resize? what resolution are you using?
it zooms to where your cursor is pointing, not the center of the screen. It works that way in many games these days. You can turn it on and off in Sins of a Solar Empire. Its a feature, not a bug...
Hm...so morale won't be in the game at all?
we have no idea at this point. can't even speculate until tactical combat is in, and even then who knows.
They're only disabled so people don't complain about them during the beta. Anyone attempting to play them anyway will be beaten, then fried.
oh, is now a bad time to post that the map icons for the fallen buildings are still the old medallion from beta 1 rather than updating to the map icons like what the "men" are using? In fact, everything about them, including tech tree, seems to be the old versions. I mu
but age of wonders 2 does have teleportors.... you can build them in any city with a wizard tower... I've also seen no trouble from teleporters in Heroes of Might and Magic, another inspiration to this game. I've actually seen very few High-fantasy books that contain armies (i.e. would have spells that powerful, and have armies. Lord of the Rings had very subtle magic. Forgotten realms books don't generally contain vast armies, though if they did it
until Strand made his post I was going to suggest it wasn't an issue because its the "advanced option" which in theory could hold custom factions as well as normally unplayable factions, and its a test in that aspect I suppose.
man, not even 12 hours and already we have more than 12 more. If it keeps going at this rate, eventually we'll have to create a system for sorting these (or a system for not-including some). I mean the final game is going to have tons more from the looks of it. They keep making more! I'd almost suggest that a lot of custom avatars (like my resident troll ones) don't really need to be up top... but whatever. <img src="http://land
yeah, I got a new "out of memory" crash that I've never seen before. Its great the AI actually does something though. I guess many of the changes arn't evident from 1 play through.
I think we can have a system that has all the requirements of a PBEM game without the need to actually PBEM. With saved games stored on stardocks server it could send a notice through your impulse account when your turn has arrived. You play your turn, it saves the game to the server and notifies the next impulse account.
R2P could have such a feature too. This is exactly what I want, hopefully better than PB
I'm really not sure how this game can be released without teleporters. Perhaps not buildable ones, but thats a really easy special high level tech for somebody that is now not included, and in theory the code should be able to handle a buildable one just as it handles a randomly placed one. (not to mention the huge map issue brought up by satrhan just above here) Obviously AoW fixed, so whats the problem?
If need be when the list is super long we may have to use more categories. I'm also hoping somewhere along the line the Devs will tell us which ideas they used or are using. Also as the Beta progresses we'll see for ourselves what's in the game and I imagine some of our ideas will become obsolete.
I suppose that we'll just have to do that manually as thy provide us with features. The beta list looks like a lot will be in the game by the time Beta 2 rolls around.
Though there is such a thing as not obscure enough
You think so? I guess it depends on the community. Man, I can't wait until I notice my work station is vastly improved from when I was in collage...
Well, they should be adding an expert on game balance of some kind to the elemental team soon, I'd wager ;D so we can blame him if it isn't perfect.
I really like this Raven X. What a great list. However, what are you going to do when the list becomes so crazy long that its hardly better than sifting through the forums? (I guess it has catigories) I would think that "UI features" would be a category. But perhaps it isn't really talked about much to get such a thing. I mean I mention it here , and a few others have b
right, in the 1st game fortified walls were ok. I think they should have stuck it with DK1, but made the tremor spell really easy to come by. It was still that way in DK1 though, just because the tactic was "Box the other player" by encircling him in fortified walls. And if you messed up or the other player tried the same thing, you very quickly dug into each other. That is WHY DK2 made fortified walls destructable, because players would just
Yes, what I am saying is that the current system encourages you to create every unit with a shield.
yeah... that was my point. It won't stay that way.
you're up too late Trippin! go to bed! (actually, it isn't as late as I thought it was) Anyway, ozmono, I think your 1st sentence is what most of Stardock would like to say, I know I would. That being said, I'm not sure. Its tricky to balance that with so many other variables. I mean, more of the higher quality troop is better, right! The way it will likely work is ... More = better. But wi
Its down to the wire! The scramble is on! Can you, who arn't in the beta, make it on time!?
(Pretend this is at the top. I moved it down here for convenience to those who don't actually care what I have to say. its technically supposed to go before the FAQ, as that is the time I wrote it, sorry if I now seem redundant by repeating something the FAQ has with more clarity) I was originally doing editing on these... trying to make them look sexy, or get the best possible screenshot and edit them together to get a b
Its the FAQ time! I hog 1st post to do it. Q: Hey, I have this suggestion... Would you implement it A: Well, obviously I need to actually know the question, but sure. I'm very happy to take suggestions on how to improve this thread, or as to how I could otherwise improve my wallpaper selection. Q: There is a mistake and/or a broken link of some kind</strong
Alright, now that everybody has Stardock's fences to let viewers see the desktop wallpaper un-hindered, we need something sexy as a background for people to see. (the text that should be here got moved to the 2nd post for the sake of viewers not being met with a wall of text) To the Meat and Potatoes: If it says "fullscreen" the resolution is 1600x1200, if it says "Widescreen" then it is 1920x1200.
I'd vomit fish with excitement if Stardock took a swing on a dungeon keeper like game. (Startopia? It was the same game, except you weren't specifically evil, and it was in space not in a dungeon.... and you had to pay to open up areas of the map, which solved the problem of digging towards the opponents as fast as possible and basically end the game in 10 min if its fair multiplayer)
right now the "slot" system is shaky at best. (in theory you can have x number of rings or accessories right now. only 1 weapon and a shield. no 2 handed weapons or bow and arrow). I can't imagine duel-wielding not making it in by release. It shouldn't be any more complicated than having different stats and animations for all the weapons as it is (you don't fight with a spear as you do an axe, and you can use a sword either way). I would
yeah...at this beta stage, you'd have to be in the game a VERY long time to get a hero. I'd say forever unless Stardock creates a patching system that updates the game as you play it. (more than just hotfixes, which I think they already have)
