yeah man, you whip out a quick concept scetch and color it for taste of style. Obviously this art is nothing like the dragon and such that we've seen from them through more official venuews. Personally, I suck at faces, and really that is the only place where I see a flaw in that picture. And then I suspect the creator didn't take as much time as they would for a unit that might actually be used in official non-concept art.

I saw him post somewhere somewhat recently, though I don't remember where. I don't think trolls could have done it. Boogiebac would have beaten them up for sure!

personally I have only really considered quests like the Sins of a Solar Empire quests or AoW quests. Quests that you use to make AI personalities happy, but don't have any real other baring on the game. I support your idea bleeba. I think it would make multiplayer games much more interesting. I fear I mave little to add as well. no comment doesn't mean we don't like it.

yeah. Well any sort of confirmation on anything is nice. Right now they've been giving us info on the engine, which obviously is pretty done. The magic system is pretty important to us obviously, and it would save our brains a lot of ache if we knew. We know there are 12 factions, I also kinda wish we had a better idea at what they were too. I mean while we are at it, I want to hear if they are in fact having multiple worlds. Because I'm dying to
It seems there's a bit of a wave of artistry taking certain elements of the computer games industry at the moment. I'm glad Stardock is part of it, and the look is great.
It is because of how hard it is to go for just plain 'realistic' graphics. To have state-of-the-arts realistic graphics, then only the top-of-the-line computers can run it, and lower end computers either get a very poor 'low-quality' version or can't run at all. Stylized

FINALLY !! the other magic nodes, err I mean cataclysm crystals or something. ^_^; So then the question that comes up is what about life. Will that come from temples and shrines like in MoM or will it come from a different source?

Well, I was under the impression that it was going to be spells that were the most 'super' near end game. So I figure by 'depending how you play the game' would rely a lot on how focused you are on magic vs. military. I would expect that you could only a super weapon, super unit, or super spell (I can imagine a giant cannon like from breath of fire 4. It would 'hex' cities causing everybody in them to die and filling them with bizzar mutant creatures.)

The 2nd, 3rd, etc., are abominations born of abomination because the whole scene should have yielded to rulesets like the Hero System or GURPS and the definition of a 'good game crew' should be that they'd tired of canned content & learned how to make their own stories. I feel that the difference should only be enough to make them feel different. I've seen in other games they try to create different systems and it ends up making certain factions really hard to play. It can cause a lot of trouble balancing and such if they are wildly different. Several races that have similar economy models but very diffrent other features may work just as well or better!
In MoM, i like to play (often) with only 3 books plus warlord, alchemist, famous,... and if i feel like i want more magic, i'll start in Mirror. Altough usually, i'm the less magical mage of all the MoM focusing more in my dear troops
thats funny. I was always the exact opposite. I usually focused in magic wondering if warlord actually did anything. I usually would push for heavy research buildings early game and try to get powerful summon and the

Something to add was in MoM, it showed the wizard actually burst into the room of enemy wizards and banish them personally. I always tought this was awesome (when I first played the game it was pretty awesome as far as cut-scenes were concerned on a PC game in terms of graphics too) (and later in life I discovered I got to see that one wizard woman's boobs when I killed her. Oh the delights we had before ESRB :P ). Expanding on that into a whole fight wo

I just want my heroes to be important to my armies. I feel like if a regular trooper becomes a hero, then the hero is only a little more important than the regular red-shirt. I want my heroes to be awesome guys. Not as awesome as my channeler, but more awesome then just a promoted guy.

I'm generally ok with the clossic distance limit. The thing that says cities are not allowed to be within X spaces of each other. It seems balanced enough and you can tweek it to allow for 'wilderness' between towns if you really want. What a hard limit would do is cause players to rush the first few settlements to get stratigic placement, then wait on the last few so that they can be in the apposolutly best possible location. While this sounds like 'stra
I like the idea of a "gaurdian". This reminds me of Master of Orion 2 where most of the Largest/best planets were gaurded by huge space creatures that you had to kill before you could colonize said planet. This would make it very difficult to get those planets until around mid game when you had the technology to defeat them. --For Elemental they could also add in an additional angle. You can either kill the guardian...or convince him

I think it is important to keep the ability to focus your heroes in different directions. It makes them feel different each time you play. Rather than just getting generic bonuses, I think I perfer the HoMM's skill style. Though, it annoyed me a little when the skills I wanted for a character wouldn't come up, I think it made it interesting.

At the same time you can design troops and stuff on a very individual basis. So in same way, there is a bit of new kinds of micromanagment. (I guess you can do that while you are waiting for other players though, or out of the game in general)

Man, I am excited to give MY guy a armor, a sythe, and stick him on a bear. I wonder how hard it will be to get the different options to manufactor. (or whatever you do to get bears, horses, and pegesi) If it is all based on what resources are around your town then town placement is going to be really important. Balance for starting locations might be rough too.

Well, I feel the major problem is simple scale. In HoMM, your hero gets more and more powerful, but its supposed to be a reward for using him. Since you shouldn't have to rebuild every level, they let you carry over at least your hero so you start with an army to be feared. I agree there is probebly a better way. But it sounds like they already know how they plan to do it. I just hope the regular skermishes are as good as they were in MoM </
*misses Void as Element instead of Life*
I think that void should be a combo of spells. Like if you are the guy that takes 2 books in every element (rather than 10 in 1 element) then you open up the void spells. If you study every element, then naturally you'd know spells that would the absense of every element. earth+fire+wind+water+life (heart) = void spells that is what I say anyway.
The concept of lesser and greater heroes needed to be abolished. It meant the player was completely discouraged from hiring lesser heroes and heroes became too much a late-game i-win button not a full game length strategic element. All heroes should be essentially created equal and progress through levels or some other fair system of progression. If you must have greater and lessor hero summoning spells or something, have the lesser one summon level 1 heroes who can still get to level
