man, I appreciate all your effort Wintersong. I'm a little sad you didn't pick a more role-playing oriented system (as Luckmann expressed) but then again, I guess we don't know enough about the world at this point to justify it. I'd be interested in running as normal heirs to the kingdoms/empires having to deal with the constant political/magical BS between the channelers. I imagine having such powerful beings running the world would create some interesting
landisaurus
I'm under the impression that heroes won't quite be as active when on their own as in Majesty. I figured they would just do whatever until recruited, not providing neutral heroes as a particular major influence in the world.
yeah, I really wish there were more chances to play that game with solid multiplayer so I knew what a competent opponent was like.
man, I keep forgetting how sexy the graphics for this game are.
Feb 18th *marks calender*
everybody says yes XD I was coming to say "shock!" it has returned! Didn't Frogboy say something to the extent of "there isn't much point discussing it since that is how it will be"
but that being said, you're not missing that much right now in Beta 1. (you might be by beta 1G, but that would be just before Beta 2 anyway)
woot! that got stickied quickly. and well deserved too
woot, spell list! could they be coming before the family tree?
you're always welcome. (though I'm not seeing it yet O.o)
yeah, I to was surprised at the length. I guess the forums have settled down on new ideas?
its nice to have a summary
That being said, it would be cool if persistent online games could be checked via iphone or android app somehow. That's the kinda outlandish feature creep though that doesn't really benefit much discussing at this stage.
man, I got all excited expecting to hear they had a full article or something.
the sovereign cannot die of old age, only his children. It isn't really speculation, just how it has been stated to work.
I can see how map control is going to be especially serious in this game if the number of shards required gets very high. In fact, that sounds like it will seriously change players ability to not expand.
happy christmas time! Beta 1 until Febuary eh? More polish is certainly better than less.
I am very happy to see this video appear. I am of course a very big MoM fan, but this certainly helps others better understand it even if they missed the good ol' days of simtex strategy games. May they R.I.P
this is the best bug I've seen yet. I wasn't aware PG-18 was a rating. And if it is, I wouldn't know who assigns that, so I'd say that GW Swicord makes the call. The guy seems to still be wearing something, even if dirty. I think it could still pass for 'T' provided the metal bits on his legs stay on and he isn't doing anything sexual. (thought somebody was refering to me for a moment. I sometimes go by "pants" as a nickname. I guess more in
I appriciate the amount of code in this update journal. It really provides some insight into whats happening 'behind the scenes' when it comes to running the game.
AI will not train a unit that was designed more than 100 turns ago " If we do this, then the AI should evaluate whether or not it can design anything better which accomplishes the same purpose. If not, it should be willing to build old units.
So what if the
If peoples of "medieval" type societies (or at least early post-renaissance, such as the american colonial period when the many cities on the eastern US were founded) had modern city zoning. I would likely hate driving less.
Speaking of which, why didn't you mention Guitar Hero in your long post/rant? It basically made a genre
Because I'm a hypocrite, thats why :P But seriously, didn't think of it. thats a good suggestion. (I always threw it under "rhythm game" next to Dance Dance Revolution and Beatmania, both of which had their own unique controllers and all that jazz before guitar hero did. But since they are both 90s games, I would say t
arn't "best of" lists supposed to be done after the time frame ends specifically so you don't have to do things like "we are not including December" I'm a little shocked. I feel this list is rather slanted. I mean, none of the grand theft autos are on there. And while I'm not one to suggest they are particularly fantastic games, they have dramatically influenced the action game genre and both grand theft auto 3 and 4 are above 95
Baldur's gate you could set the options to pause at the end of every turn and force you to push the 'end turn' button. (which I believe was space bar) making it true turn-based. Very few people did this, because it was kinda annoying (you say "go here and attack" and that command doesn't really change It might "feel" like real time, and that is the point. But its not. You're talking 'damage per turn' rather than per second, whic
I agree with Kyogre to some extent. I think after the original dev journal about it, at least a few people would then send PMs about it as a joke. Heck, I might have done the same thing if I were my younger and more rebellious self.
