Yeah Fuzzy, I was a little shakey the first time I did a BIOS flash. Now, I'm so calm about it that I usually go and crack a beer while it's flashing.....Nothing has gone wrong yet with any of my flashing, and I've done about 10 since I first started owning computers. After all, it just a motherboard. If it me

Sounds like everything is OK now GoodMorphing. You should look around for a place in your area that deals in refurbished equipment. That's how I got my NEC FE700 monitor. A retailer here where I live called Computer Depot gets them in huge quantities. They come in off 2 year leases from large companies. Computer Depot refurbishes them and sells them real cheap. I got mine for $90.00 (Canadian), which would probably be around $50.00 (US). It's worth looking

Frogboy, I can get you a really good deal on yacht cleaners. (Just in case you were considering cutting back for the good of the community.) And Jafo, ....but Geldof's solution was to "shoot the whole day down". A little drastic!

Happy for you GoodMorphin. I know you will enjoy using the new PC. I know that when I went from my old Pentium 266M to my present P4 2.2G it was an incredible shock. BTW, if the email trick doesn't work out than let me know, I'll send you any of my older ones that you want. (I still have them saved on my D drive.) Once again, congrats on the new system <img src="http://images.stardock.

Great to hear GoodMorphing! Regarding your question....to change the name click on the Control Panel in the start menu, then click on User Accounts , then click on the account you want to change, then click on Change My Name .....then you can change the name.

Here's a new twist on this old story.... I'd be willing to pay more (yes, you heard right!) Way more, if it meant there would be even more bandwidth at your disposal and therefore a faster site. Sometimes it's a little slow, and I have no qualms about paying whatever to keep it fast and ad free. Now I don't need any t-shirts, I've got plenty. I have all of the Stardock applications that I want. (all paid for) And I have the WC subscription. So, what

Using 3.4 with XP , processor is Intel P4 at 2.2 Ghtz. I never see it 'build' the bitmaps, it's instant, ready to go the split second I log on.

ADSL at 3Megabits/sec throughput (or approx download speed of 375 Kilobytes/sec) It takes me about 10 minutes to browse through everything I like. Takes me about 2.5 seconds to download a 1Megabyte file. Most skins download in a split second. I'm in and out in a flash.

This is a great example of how very weird the English language is. We write things to a messageboard and then ask you to 'listen' to what we are saying. Of course, you can't actually 'listen' to the printed word. You actually read it. So, when people say 'listen' they actually mean 'heed'. .........it is a strange language, isn't it? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" bor

Carlitus, if you like Shakespearian English then heed this slightly modified version of a famous speach: "To [speak], or not to [speak] That is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take up arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them." Stand and fight Carlitus. Oppose this sea of troubles and end them. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 AL

adni, I think the word was meant to be 'deceptive'. Carlitus is using this adjective to decribe the type of 'treatment' he feels he has received. If he was to describe a person then the right word would be 'deceitful'.

I'll be looking for it Joetheblow. It'll be a good test. (Actually, I updated my MS Office Products today just to test it out. Downloaded the 27 Meg upgrade in about 80 seconds...gotta love it!) Hey Wise, how about a satelite ISP?

Just upgraded my DSL service from 1 Meg. to 3 Meg. The site really moves along nicely now. Downloads are around 370 Kilobytes/sec. Makes those huge DX files a piece of cake. ( Apparently I can upload at 85 Kilobytes though I have

I am sad to see you leave Carlitus. Please listen to one who knows. Just 1 week ago I did what you are doing now. I have lived to regret it. Ultimately, we come to this site and we upload our creations to this site because we love to and because it give us a sense of accomplishment. As Dangeruss has just said, "...know that in a month, only a handful of people will even notice or remember your departure." Then you will be the one left with nothing more than an empty feeling. One moment of
