As far as the OP goes? Pfft!! I live in Kingston, Ontario Canada. All the same cutbacks happened here a few years ago. In fact, we lost a complete hospital. (we had 2, now we have 1) It just shut down due to cutbacks. At the same time I was have a minor health issue. I had to have hernia repair surgery done. The original doctor's appointment took only 24 hours from booking it to sitting in the doctor's office being examined. My d
Why don't you cry about it?while i'm saddened by your pathetic willingness to embellish reality in defense of a lame like jindal--whose on-air persona manages to make the shamwow guy seem profound --as well as your cynical determination to exploit for that same purpose something so despicable as racism, no tears here.the rnc, on the other hand, is in for a lotta weeping and gnashing of teeth if jindal's their star player. Looking on the bright side. From this point on, sci-fi movies where the earth is about to be destroyed as well as most other movies set in the future, will now have actors from other minorities and ethnic groups playing The President. Heck, we might even see an Asian President or an Inuit President. How 'bout a Moari Commander in Chief or a Tibetan Leader of the Free World. The make believe possiblities are endl

I believe her name is Etta James, and yes, she's a bit over the top thinking that this is "her" song, or that anyone besides a few of her old or dying fans care what she thinks about Beyonce's performance of the song. [e digicons][/e]

Today, jazz legend Oscar Peterson passed away. He played along side most of the greats of jazz and established himself as one of those greats during the 1950's with the formation of the the Oscar Peterson trio. His contribution to jazz was immense and he will be long remembered by those that know and love the music. My personal experience with Oscar

As far as I'm concerned when I PAY to rent a car the payment I make includes a wash. Why the heck would I pay someone more money to wash something that I feel I already paid to be washed. If the rental company wants me to wash it they should put that in the agreement. Now, if you mean leasing a car, which I actually do, in fact I lease 2 cars, then I wash them regularly.

Not sure about the rules of this loser test. If even one of the Eight Articles of Loserdom is achieved, does one then qualify as a loser? Personally, I think I meet about half of these, the other half, definately not. So am I half a loser or am I half a winner? Does achieving all of the EIght Articles of Loserdom actually make one a winner of sorts? A winner, that is, at being such a great loser? In the end, it's not whether you are a w
heh heh- whereabouts are you?
:) Kingston, Ontario. Actually today it's climbed to a downright hot -6 degrees. But did we ever get hit with a ton of snow and then freezing rain.

Environment Canada has issued a warning that Canada will face the coldest winter in 15 years. I've already begun to feel the proof as the temperature outside right now is -15 degrees Celcius. This time last year it was still above freezing. Brrrr. Proponents of Global Warming need not worry though. One of the lesser known facts about Globa

I would be more interested in knowing what governmental policies the candidate supports... Taken directly from Wiki; Economics In his first speech to parliament, Rudd stated that: Competitive markets are massive and generally efficient generators of economic wealth. They must therefore have a central place in the management of the economy. But markets sometimes fail, requiring direct government intervention through inst

I have five systems running at home. Four running Vista (2 Ultimate, 2 Home Premium), and one running XP. The XP system is nothing but a headache. BSOD's all over the place. All the Vista systems have been up and running since the official release with absolutely no problems. Two of the systems are strictly for home use, (Media Center, gaming, general messing around) and 2 of the systems are for home business applications. I kept the XP system going thinking that I might need to

I went ahead and listened to and watched a number of the videos on YouTube featuring Kaki. Nice style and excellent technique. She's still quite young compared to Don Ross, (He's 47 years old), and she shows excellent promise for the future. I really enjoyed her playing. I've been following Don Ross for years and years. He is the only person ever to have won the prestigious US National Fingerstyle Championship twice. His technique, his phrasing, his execution and his passion sets hi

My favorite fingerstyle guitar player. Very funky. Great composer too. Link I've seen him live. I've got all the records. I've even been to a few of his workshops. Someday I hope to get to where he is.

Very interesting and thought provoking article. The signs are all there, but are there enough people in the right places to interpret them and act? One interesting fun fact. "According to a history of the dollar posted on the Bank of Canada website, the U.S. dollar plunged in 1864 as the Confederate Army approached Washington during the U.S. Civil War and the Union government temporarily shut down gold trading." "On July 11, 1864, t
