Can you install Fraps and take a quick video of this happening? Post it to YouTube or your video site of choice.

1.) Rename Elemental.exe to Elemental.exe.old 2.) This may cause Impulse to not see Elemental as installed. If so, create a new text file called Elemental.exe in the install location. This will be replace with a real one in the next step. 3.) Hold shift and right click on the entry in Impulse and select "Verify installation". This should give you an update that will replace the dummy text file with the correct .exe Let me know if this helps!
(looks like scissors).
Swords. This is a known bug we are working to address. The cursor should continue to work. If you like, you can disable the custom cursors and use the default Windows one (select Use Hardware Cursor in the options). Cycling this on and off also might unstick it, which could be a temporary workaround for now.

However, when I downloaded from Impulse, I never had a chance to install elsewhere. Is there any way this can be done?
Very interesting post, thank you. Is there any way that we could get an option file, where we can define where these files are to be placed? For example, my system uses an SSD drive for c:, which should not be used by games. Any chance of installing/handling the game using the data drive D: only would be appreciated!
The Games for Windows certification requires that game data be handled in
Another thing I noticed is that I have a whole bunch of missing graphics. So no pictures in the different tech trees - missing graphics in my Book... nothing.
Try clearing the screens directory from the ProgramData folder and then run the game again and see if the same occurs. Info on where the folder is: https://forums.elementalgame.com/392578
I personally love the idea of not only having a god-like super sovereign, but also the thought of him wearing no less than 87 rings (how would that even work?) But as kryo said, this is something we will be looking at changing in future patches.
“I saw it, you can tell it’s fake.” “What? Fake? What are you talking about?” My wife says. “It’s an uncanny valley thing. I saw the moon earlier. They rendered it wrong. There’s clearly two light sources.” “ARE YOU INSANE? Who is ‘they’?” my wife demands. “I dunno who exactly. I don’t want to get into a blame game here. The model seems right, I think i
There's a lot of factors that could play into this, but to be brief if you're seeing this very early game and not later it's almost definitely from gaining multiple levels after a battle. If you notice it again try to take note of your sovereign's level before and after battle.
Do you have your screen resolution set to the same as your monitor? Also, does the same issue happen if you set your cursor to the hardware one?
As I'm patrolling these forums I see several posts where people are wondering where certain files/folders are located. Here's a list of locations and files that may be helpful when reporting issues DIRECTORIES: Game install directory C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Elemental <
What's the make and model of your USB sound device? Do you have an onboard device, and if so does it show the same issue?
Thanks for this report. This is an issue we're working on. In the mean time the suggestions spacecadet87 had are right on.
I lowered all of the settings as low as they would go.
did this include screen resolution?
If possible, can you send the save game file located in Documents\My Games\Elemental\Saves. Can you also please download and run the following utility: http://sd.stardock.com/SDSupportTool.exe This is a tool that we use to gather relevant log files and basic information about your computer. Once the utility finishes running, please send back the .zip file it creates on the desktop.
Are you seeing this when creating your card, or after it has already been created? If the latter, did it show when creating it?
Everything on it loads fine, it's like the actually texture for the map itself isn't loading.
It looks like this may be the case. Try verifying the game through Impulse (Shift+Right click on the game entry). It should replace the texture if needed. Also, try tweaking your brightness setting for the map (I like mine on full bright at 100): <img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/pics/2010-08-28_1319.png" alt
the seed maps are in the game directory under data\Maps. The ones that say seed. The others for the campaign and what not do not delete, it'll break things.
Confirmed and reported to the dev team.
Impulse Anywhere may not yet have the latest version of Elemental. I'll see about getting that fixed.
1.) Your drivers could use some updating. Always make sure you have the latest and greatest for your card for best performance. 2.) Is this as soon as the game is run, or when you load a save? If the former, try deleting the following directory: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic\Screens (the directory ProgramData is hidden) and running the game again
Saves are under Documents\My Games\Elemental\Saves. Please upload the save so we can take a look ( I personally like drop.io for file hosting)
What is the resolution your screen is running at?
A friend of mine's downloaded his copy already. Will I be able to grab the archive file off him and activate it on my account using the serial number I received after purchasing the game?
Unfortunately, no, the archives are user specific. You could log in on his machine and use the download and archive feature in Impulse to get your archive though (right click on the game entry and select "Download and Archive")
Unfortunately I don't have a very stable
If you move the files out of C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\Documents\My Games\Elemental and C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic does that get you up and running (store those files somewhere in case we need data from you, but make sure the locations are clear). Once you do this, run the game again.
